The Time For A Change video sums his channel up. Dreadful lighting a background with a calendar and post it notes everywhere. The video was poorly framed with far too much headroom. There are no excuses for someone who has had a YouTube channel for a few years. It looks like zero effort has been put into this, as well. He's only got himself to blame and now the reality has started to bite with declining views and revenue. One change he could make is being more honest regarding some of his reviews, if its a paid promotion say so. He also needs to show a bit of humility especially in regard to constructive criticism. Curt replies makes him appear dislikable.

I think moving to Thailand is quite risky for Darren John to be honest. He doesn’t have that many subscribers in the grand scheme of things to begin with and I feel what few subscribers he does have he’s in danger of alienating because people mostly watch him because they like his vlogs on London and the places there. The comments from a lot of his subscribers on his videos in Thailand (especially the one where he kept just buying banana and chocolate milkshakes) were that they’d switched off for the first time because it was boring! I also have no idea how he’s managing to turn YouTube into his full time job when he only has 30k subscribers which is very small fry compared to the big YouTubers who have millions, even the dreaded crapmaster has way more than that! It definitely makes me wonder what type of person he truly is, why him and MM fell out catastrophically, how he can’t seem to find his way in life? The fact that he appears to have been having a midlife crisis for quite some time now, then there’s also the fact he can’t seem to hold down a job in London. I do hope it works out for him but I have a feeling he’ll be back within the 12 month window with his tail firmly tucked between his legs. He just seems very lost in life, like a lost little puppy trying to find his way and if he’s gone over there to find a partner then he’s going to be sadly disappointed because most of the women out there are just in it for the money! I’ve never been to Thailand but it strikes me as having some beautiful scenery but also having a seedy and sordid side, it strikes me as the type of place where pervy fat old white British men go once their wives have died to find Thai brides. But that’s just me also his son is as dull as dishwater! No personality whatsoever!

The Fat Master has put a video out saying he admits he is wrong but is angry with all the negative comments. I see lots of his obsessive fans sticking up for him too, critical thinking is non existent to that lot.

Here’s the thing DJ, how about taking some accountability for your curt responses, lazy videos, deleting comments and hiding users from your channel?

There is a way to behave and if your community has become so toxic take a long hard look at yourself because it starts with you and no amount of censoring in your favour is going to cover that up!

He still refuses admit he's been a pillock by not bothering to research how to obtain a IDP. According to DJ its the fault of the PPs for not offering this service in the 5 PPs he visited. PPs official website points out that not all PPs offer this service. It then publishes a list of participating outlets.

After going into hiding DJs arse lickers are swarming all over his response video. I notice he is also pinning the best DJ fanboys comments to force them to the top of the page. Whats the matter with some people these days, where criticism and piss taking becomes hatred. Oh please!

He was advised multiple times to take this down as he has alienated many people due to being curt and using the ban hammer. He has made enemies and incentivised them to report them to to the Thai authorities. Thailand has very strict defamation laws. How does DJ respond? He announces he is banning more people. You couldn't make this up.

After 9 months it looks like the penny has finally dropped regarding the negativity on his channel. Now only subscribers and members can leave a comment. It would also appear anyone leaving a negative comment has been muted, as the comments over his last couple of vlogs all appear very positive. The negative comments were more interesting than his vlogs, they were the only reason I went to have a look.

Im bored with his channel now, the comments were the only reason I kept popping back now and again but even they are becoming boring.

DJ talking about drinking in bars when he was in Thailand previously. DJ explains, you've got your own drinks and then there's the "lady drinks". thats when a female or someone that appears to be female starts chatting to you and you buy them a drink. What a mug. It's a massive scam. These girls work in the bars. Their job is to get tourists to buy them drinks and spend more money. The drinks the girls get will often be massively watered down as well. If you go for extras you might get more than you bargained for, if you know what I mean.

There's a documentary on BBC Iplayer just now about Thailand, its done over a few episodes.

In the 2nd episode she went to Pattata 'The Sex capital of Asia' its referred to. It just looks really seedy and sleezy, but there was one phrase she used that I think is applicable to DJ "coming over here gives men a power that they don't have back home".

Back home hes petty much a nobody, theres people with far more money than him, but over there, he can live like a king and buy whatever 'services' he wants.

A bit sad really.

I’d love to know what really went on between him and The MacMaster, I did hear the rumour about how he treats women so it could be that. MacMaster was adamant about never having anything to do with Darren ever again so it must have been serious. The comments on his latest video about the visa are class, quite a few are saying he’s done it illegally and that’s why he’s paid through the nose. I’d love to know how he’s going to sustain this life in Thailand with only 35 thousand subscribers, no job and meanwhile spending like there’s no tomorrow. Also that review in Pippa’s was so obviously paid advertising. He needs to remove “honest food reviews” from his titles as they’re anything but, he loves everything in Thailand, I don’t think he’d dare say if something was crap because the owners would probably hunt him down.

Yep. He is still getting hammered in the comments. Someone said he comes over as cocky. Another asked, if he had told the police officer, to 'tell his friends, family, colleagues and acquaintances', to watch the channel. David Brent in Thailand.
Overall, they are saying he is wrong, and he has been scammed online. Should have gone to a post office in the UK, and got it done for a fiver.
A lot telling him to take the vlog down, as he could end up in more trouble. Welcome to the land of smiles.
