I had a bag of Golden Wonder today after a long absence. They has a sweet taste about them - not suitable at all for cheese and onion crisps ! And when I checked the ingredient list, sure enough sugar was listed. That's just wrong.

Does anyone remember Savoury Vinegar crisps from the 70s? I LOVED them! Might have been Golden Wonder?
Omg, you're the only person in the world, apart from me, who remembers these! I think the bag was a brownish-purple colour, they were absolutely gorgeous.
Of course, if I tried them now, with my slightly more sophisticated palate, I'd probably think they were horrid! 🤣

Anyone tried these? Got a couple of packets on its way to me, apparently similar to the Marks and Spencer’s baked potato crisps that are sadly no longer around

I’ve eaten them in France; they are delicious. I feel like there is a Camembert flavour too?

Thank god, I thought i was the only person who remembered them! They were made by Smiths i think and, yes, in a maroon colour packet. I absolutely LOVED them, I think they were a mid 70s thing.

I'm finding that they're a bit of hidden gem for crisps and snacks, especially their Irresistible range.

2 X new ones for me - I tried taytos for the first time when I was in a pub in London and they were amazing! We shared the beef and onion and the prawn cocktail ones. I preferred the beef ones but both so flavourful!

Currently eating these wagyu beef and mustard ones and they're quite good. I'd rate them like an 8 of 10. Nice strong beef and mustard taste

Tayto Meanies are the ones I always regret not bringing more of every time I come back from Ireland.

You should look at Reddit R/crisps

They are always lamenting Brannigans beef and mustard crisps.

I think I'll struggle to find any crisps to knock pickled onion discos off the top spot

A couple of recent purchases and reviews.

Bought these in Lidl yesterday for £1.39. They're made in Hong Kong and don't taste of pizza. Just mildly spicy, maybe like Continental Europe paprika crisps but with the additional bonus of sweetener, inexplicably. Not a repeat purchase but my elderly cat liked them 😅

Nothing like ranch if you've ever tried the real thing. Mostly tasted like stale sour cream Pringles but with a different texture. Fairly cheap for £1.25 but again, not a repeat purchase. Neither cat nor dog liked them.

These are hands down the best crisps I’ve had in my life. I think I posted last month when we were here the Lays ones. These tit all over them.

BTW we don’t normally have two trips so close together but the earlier one was needed to get away from life. Not trying to be a show off.
