I’ve just watched this documentary on iPlayer … my main thoughts are Kevin Franke is simple to the point to the point of actual mental impairment and LDS is insane.

I genuinely don’t lnow if you could say that this was calculated on Kenzies part .. manslaughter definately. The spanner for me is Davion - this takes away the idea that it was a love pact death or Kenzie deciding she wanted to hurt Dom.. I can see how the weed could have affected her driving .. but it does t make sense that it was fine to start and then all of a sudden she is doing 100mph..

I do not buy the “ I had a medical emergency “ - if this was the case then surely would be some signs prior to this . One swerve at the wheel is not enough to convince me - this could easily have been Kenzie and Dom arguing - and the wheel was pulled or she lost control for a minute.. also why no slowing down at all? Muscles would relax if she lost consciousness??

Interesting that the lawyer was sat in on the interview - he was obviously coaching her . She came across as insincere when being asked questions. Suspect that she might try and appeal again and doesn’t want to drop herself in the shit. I got the impression that Kenzie thinks of herself of some kind of “ home girl “ with the stupid hairdo she had. The weed smoking etc ..

Dom was def dealing - unless his parents were extra rich or other option was he was shoplifting the stuff . Davion is the outlier in the planned to murder theory. I didn’t pick up anything to suggest that she’d want to hurt her friends - she came across as a very silly teenage girl who has had zero parental guidance in her life and therefore has no boundaries .

I don’t know how it works but apparently she’s had behavioural warnings inside, which means she’s not really taking accountability or showing remorse. Which is extremely unsurprising

Iv been watching some old Crimewatch UK episodes on YouTube tube. It's really scary seeing so many rapes/ attacks against women that went on. Sometimes I feel like I have rose tainted glasses on regarding the past, as though my nostalgia seems to erase the nasty bits....
The reconstructions are quite graphic at times, but it's also interesting to see them. It's also very interesting at times because you see things like the price of petrol back then! I also noticed Paddy from Emmerdale was in the reconstructions....alot! Lol !

If you’d like to learn more about John Palmer I highly recommend the 2-series BBC production, Gold, its a drama rather than documentary but SO well made and incredibly absorbing.

I really wish they hadn’t included the moment when the dad told the children. I really felt that this should have been a private moment.
Very upsetting.
I’ve had a similar neighbour and you can’t do right for doing wrong. Thankfully she’s left and been replaced by a nice young couple.

I thought that but feel from the way it was filmed that they had the family’s permission. Not that a child has that say though.

It is from 2015, but did anyone ever watch Making a Murderer on Netflix about Steven Avery? I've gone back and forth with this for years now and I still don't know what to fully make of it. I'm not sure if it's still on Netflix (I cancelled my subscription a few months ago) but there is stuff about him on YouTube still.

I watched Making a Murderer a couple of years after it first came out and I remember thinking that Steven and that Brendan guy, his nephew was it, were both guilty and I was reading about it online etc but I can't remember now why I thought they were guilty, it's so long since I read up on it.

Making a Murderer kick started my interest in true crime! I've since realised that it was probably a very biased documentary and Steven Avery is probably guilty. I think Brendan (the nephew..was that his name?) is innocent though!

Yes it’s a separate subscription to crime and investigation on prime but you should initially get a free month’s trial and not be charged, just make sure you cancel before the end of the free month.
That’s what I did to watch it and I can’t recommend this series enough. It’s one of the best I’ve ever seen.

I think she is a very strange choice for this (not watched it by the way)

Both of the Rachel Nickell documentaries/ docu- series are so utterly heartbreaking, iv never stopped crying watching them. What Alex and Andre endured was simply harrowing.

Are they on Netflix? As a teenager I couldn’t get my head around something like that happening in a public place in broad daylight.

I was married to someone who would twist religion for his own sexually deviant and porn addicted ways, and I’d been broken and gaslit for so long, I felt like I was the one who was in the wrong. Watching it was harder than I thought it would be.

I'm assuming he fancied a change (name and location) because he's a convicted sex offender and general maniac when on cocaine. I also assume he'd have had to make authorities aware of this, given that he was out on extended licence. He was convicted of Samatha's murder under his new name of Adam Watson so it must have been a legal change - again, I'm assuming)

It pisses me off this is even possible in the 21st century. Surely it can't be that hard to stop sex offenders/violent offenders changing their name. I thought they were going to change the law on this but looks like they can't be bothered. It probably wouldn't have saved Samantha but could have done if she googled her clients (she seemed quite aware of her safety ironically).

I'm old enough to clearly remember the original Crimewatch UK reconstruction and appeal regarding the murder of Alison Day at Hackney Wick. Just found it on YouTube actually - it was broadcast in February 1986. I was eleven.

I plan to watch that this weekend.
I do remember the feeling of utter terror in the 80s all around Peter Sutcliffe and every time my mum went out in the evening (which wasn’t often due to fear ) and my dad picking her up - he had a friend in Leeds who’s company reinforced the floor at Millgarth police station due to the weight of the evidence coming in.
Hideous times.

Yeah I watched it. I'll admit before I had doubts and thought he was maybe just misunderstood like emotionally immature and "stuck" in a child mindset. After watching it, I no longer have doubts .

Likewise. He was a master manipulator. His lawyer was infuriating as well. If he was innocent I think he’d still be alive. Really feel bad for his own children, his victims and their families. It seems he wasn’t shy about blackmailing his staff either. His poor maid.
