There’s a podcast which I listened to yesterday and recommend - Hell In Heaven-A mysterious death in Paradise, which tells the story of the death (murder or suicide?) of John Bender in Costa Rica.
I read an article about this a few months ago and found it fascinating - the mansion without walls in the middle of the rainforest, and the isolation which drove him and his wife Ann crazy.
Definitely worth a listen!

It's Kerry Daynes on Faking It. I watch with fascination to see i) how big her hair is and ii) how shiny and taut her face is this week.

I enjoy the show but it's very easy to say someone is lying when they've been convicted.

24 hours in police custody on channel 4. There's an episode dedicated to just knife crime. Unbelievable how easy it is to purchase knives like that

The Nicholas Prosper case was shown. I knew very little until I watched this programme. It was rather disturbing

Watched this last night and yes agree it’s frightening how easy it was to buy the zombie knives!

Saw a shocking programme on 5 called my boyfriend my rapist the video footy where someone had raped his then girlfriend while she slept. She found the video and went to the police

Just started watching murder 24/7. This suicide or murder case has got me absolutely baffled!

I don't think we got told much about her time with him when she was a kid in the doc, I think she was groomed.

He definitely got in there when she was young and impressionable and he was in a significant position of power. When she died I saw it on social media and I went down a real rabbit hole. A lot of her loved ones aren’t happy with the documentary I read as they don’t think she died at her own hands. There was a lot missed out of the documentary. The guy who found her body died in a car accident not long later. If she did kill herself there is no doubt that the blame lies at his door.

Her obituary says all you need to know about her husband who was stalking her and she had just served with divorce papers.

there’s another doc and she drove the route 7 times in the days before.
Maybe for her and her parents involvement they asked for certain bits to be held back?
if you listen carefully she also says to her Lawyer ‘was that good’ after her interview.

I think the other true crime documentary was called mean girls ( series 2 I think ). I also watched a TikTok earlier and the person mentioned this documentary and also mentioned that Netflix had left out that she had driven the route several times in the days prior to the crash ..

re the lawyer . Am convinced she will try and appeal again hence the being coached on what to say . None of that interview came across as her being remorseful or genuine .

eta - there are also quite a few TikTok’s of her mum on the phone to ( wow - perimenopause brain .. can’t remember her name ) whilst she is in jail. If the calls are genuine then she comes across as a spoilt brat - the number of tantrums about this that or the other she has whilst on the phone ..

Then again, the same can be said of Kym Marsh, Katherine Kelly, Will Mellor etc etc.

Laura does do a True Crime podcast so maybe it is seen as an extension of that.

Has anyone else watched the Michael Jackson Trial documentaries on Channel 4?

Yeah I watched it. I'll admit before I had doubts and thought he was maybe just misunderstood like emotionally immature and "stuck" in a child mindset. After watching it, I no longer have doubts .

It's the final episode. And yes, agreed. I think it's the only one of the four cases featured that actually holds any water.
