Making a Murderer on Netflix... like WTF.
Any updates or a thread discussing this case?
So many questions but honestly the parents have aged so much & the twists & turns must be absolutely awful for them.

That said ive just been across to Reddit & it's suggested that watching Convicting a Murderer is worth watching for a different perspective.

Also started watching crime in progress after it being mentioned here! Only watched the first one so far but my goodness.
Also watched the trial on channel 4 last night. This is always a funny one for me because I know I decide very early on what my judgement is. Found the original case & quite shocked at the verdicts from what I’ve seen so far!

so glad there is a tattle thread about true crime docs. I have just finished one called The mysterious disappearance of Sherri Papini on Disney + ( it’s a Hulu doc ).
absolute madness - it is one of the most crackers true crime stories I have ever heard about . Let’s just say I went in with assumptions and was proven wrong on each one.

Really good watch. Watched the whole show over the evening ( as I was also dipping in and out of gladiators and poirot )

Ah that’s good to know - I wanted to start it yesterday but didn’t get a chance so will start it next week

Also I know nothing of the case or the final outcome so my thoughts now could be entirely different once I've finished the series.

Finished all ten episodes Crime in Progress yesterday. Not gonna lie - feeling a bit bereft today. I have SO much to say (as usual ) but I'll wait until everyone's finished.

It's made by A&E, who also make The First 48 and Accused: Guilty or Innocent? - that's why it's good.

And a second season has been ordered!

I have heard mention of Accused Guilty or Innocent on here. Where can I watch that please?
I am so grateful I took up an offer for Now so I have been able to watch Crime in Progress. Definitely needed to take my head out of my real life at the moment. Going to watch the last 2 tonight, I have been saving them.
I did already know a couple of the stories but it is a great watch, so intense.

If you are in doubt about any “crime riddled” i always watch Pat Brown she rambles a bit but when she breaks everydown it all makes sense her blog on making a murderer & the recent jon benet i found really enlightening

Not watched this yet but there was a very good podcast about it that I listened to last year. It is shocking how there was no criminal investigation into what can only be called abuse.

Yes the podcast entitled “Believe in Magic” is excellent.. still available on BBC Sounds.

But the very brief synopsis I read, I don't think I know the case, which is unusual as I was following trials avidly for many years and always take a particular interest in juvenile crime. The second series, I recognised the case within about ten minutes. The first one I'd never heard of, despite it happening very close to where I now live!

I’ve spent ages to figure out who Kenzie reminded me off and it was a young girl who was in Gypsy Sisters called Jackie Dee. Jackie Dee behaved nothing like Kenzie.

Really enjoyed these episodes. Murder 24/7 is so well done. Never sensationalised, shows how the police follow the evidence these days & like how they show 2 smaller cases in an episode rather than padding out 1 per episode.

Will be watching the new series at the weekend with Mr BMP along with the latest episode Murder Case: The Digital Detectives. That struggles to hold my attention though - I find it quite 'dry' and a bit boring to be honest.

What's been the best true crime doc people have seen this year?
I'm essentially starting from scratch again and will give them a go.
There are so many it's hard to know where to start tbh.

A warning some of the stuff mentioned (rape / surgical stuff) is a bit graphic - on Amazon prime there's a program called Alison. It's about a woman who was raped and almost killed

Oooo found this on my app just as I was coming here to find a recommendation! Looks like this will be my new WFH series, thank you!

It's one of my favourites. The way it twists and turns like a twisty turny thing.

However, if you are of the very mistaken belief that the USA justice system is better than ours, please watch it - the first seven seasons are available on C5 catch up and the eighth season is ongoing in the USA as we speak - and come back and tell me you still feel the same.

I swear to God I will fight anyone to the death on this!

You need to watch from the beginning really as some cases have follow up episodes. And the second season opens with a catch up on all the cases featured on the first IIRC.

New episodes added to Murder Trial on iPlayer if anyone's been following these Scottish court cases. This one is Death of a Dog Walker.

I believe Campbell's guilty, but I thought the evidence against him was weak.

I've watched the first three, not the last one.

Something feels a bit 'missing' (no pun intended) this series. I can't put my finger on it but I've found myself drifting off during every episode. One thing seems glaringly obvious - there are a lot of fucked up kids!

I agree this series isn't as engaging for some reason and the endings are a little odd.
