Im really enjoying knitting at the moment but struggling to get patterns. Does anyone use Ravelry successfully? I find it a nightmare to navigate and actually find anything. Is it American? I follow some tiktokers who post links to patterns, but id be grateful if anyone else could recommend a good site for knitting patterns.

I use Ravelry, the advanced search feature is very good when you get your head around it. But I mostly use the same designers all the time.

I have a shop on eBay where I sell buttons and patterns. Mine are all new patterns though so not cheap as they are not cheap to buy wholesale and taking into account eBay fees on top I literally make pennies. I like King Cole patterns best they have some lovely unusual designs.

I'm a sewer, mainly cross stitch and embroidery. Card making and jewellery...used to make a lot but got sidetracked when we moved home. A few years ago did two mosaic workshops - enjoy that a lot but tend to do it when I can sit outside.

This winter I've mainly done Diamond painting - I haven't felt up to having concentration, so this has been really good. I've tried to find an online forum, but haven't found anything yet.

This morning I looked at a couple of Crochet mags in the supermarket, tempted to give crochet a go - have some wool from making pom poms. Would it be easier to watch an online YT tutorial?

I need to stitch something for a friend that has recently had a baby, 2 wedding stitched cards for the summer, and to get started on some Xmas decs. No pressure ...

I've been working on a crochet tote bag for the last 2 weeks and I've finally finished. I'm so proud of it as its the first time I've followed a proper pattern and actually finished it i even made a lining with my very limited sewing skills, though had my mum help a bit with the sewing machine as I'm uselessView attachment 4074456

I'm very slowwwwly knitting myself a cardigan using a Kate Davies pattern (Powdermill) but in different colours as I absolutely can't stand pink. It's my first time making something with a steek so that's exciting. I wish I could knit a lot faster, this will be ready in 2027 at this rate. I want to be wearing it now

I am in awe of those who crochet, I can't understand it for the life of me.

Thanks for the recommendation for Attic 24, not heard of that one. I follow a group on Facebook for beginners, but they only ever recommend Bella Coco. Nothing wrong with Bella Coco, but variety is nice.

I am currently making 2 things. I am making a c2c blanket using one of the Autumn leaves yarns that aldi had in a few months ago, with yellow stripes to break it up ( mustard yellow is one of the colours flecking in the aldi yarn). I am taking a break for a few days to make a snood for my auntie. I made myself one using a lovely soft yarn I found, and my mum suggested I make auntie one as well. She has asked if could make her something before, but I haven't felt that my creations were good enough before to give away.

I find doing crochet so soothing. It helps me relax and stay calm. 1 day a week in have to man the incoming calls at work, I sometimes crochet between calls if it is quiet enough.

Went to buy a sun hat with the imminent heatwave in mind and they've taken them off the shelves already
So I had an idea to make on from a re usable shopping bag
I just did it freehand and it took most of the day and if you don't look to closely.........
Anyway, I'll try it down at the beach today

It wont be til next year but I keep getting tempted by the Cricut Joy, I've got a Scan n Cut but me & Mum could never get the hang of it.
But the Cricut looks more idiot friendly

I go back and forth on if I should by a Tulip hook. I take them in and out of my amazon basket all the time. I can't decide, do I want them because they are good? Or do I want them because they are red?

I find crochet easier and quicker than knitting but I enjoy both

You sound very much like me! I'm currently looking into getting a cricut machine... I'm very tempted, just put off a bit by the lack of space to do it in! I keep falling down a rabbit hole looking at you tube videos and Facebook groups

I love my cricut machine. I often make stencils for glass etching (the quickest easiest crafty present I can think of), I’ve made so many lovely personalised framed pictures using design space, I’ve personalised cushions, bags, coasters, Christmas decorations and so on, I’ve made hundreds of cake toppers and that’s before you even get to general cutting vinyl to personalise stuff. It’s definitely a great tool for a crafter
