Meant to be flying to Malta in just under three weeks. Not entirely sure I want to travel.
You’ll only eat it eventually anyway! If it makes you feel better then who cares what anyone thinks?
I’d rather have the stuff and not need it then not having it and needing it!
I'm afraid that that still sounds rather patronising given that nobody on this thread has said that they are "panicking". You also have no clue as to other's professions and/or knowledge of the subject. Given that I have connections in both the medical and science fields, I'll keep up my basic hygiene and add extra non perishable food as I see fit. But thats just my perspectiveI am not posting anything like as much as some people are, neither am I trying to sound superior or belittling, I'm just trying to remain measured and calm. As I have mentioned previously I work in the NHS (no, I'm not a doctor's receptionist, despite what you may like to believe!) and I am surrounded by highly qualified healthcare professionals. The people I work with are doctors, nurses, mental health specialists etc and the advice they give is to stay calm and not worry unduly. In other words, don't panic and maintain a sense of perspective.
Ohhh, OK - I see that now, sorry! (I’m sure there are clearer ways to display that than against a white line on a light background...!)The main thing on the graph is the number of people who tested positive, it also displays the number tested as a bonus, look at the axis
8 have recoveredOhhh, OK - I see that now, sorry! (I’m sure there are clearer ways to display that than against a white line on a light background...!)
It’d still be good to show the number of people who’ve recovered though. It might be too early for the UK to have had recoveries maybe, but people are recovering, so the figures being released ought to include net numbers rather the gross number of people confirmed. A way to ease some concerns would be to also focus on the amount of people who AREN’T dying from it.
Is it not quite fast for 8 recovered??8 have recovered
Where abour are you? Surely they should isolate? Selfish if he’s not wanting to! I think as a society people are very selfish and only think of themselves where me I’d rather know I was making everyone else safe! People baffle me! I’m hoping it tails off and just now we have no idea whether it will or notI’m getting antsy as a family member based in the NHS has told me that a lecturer at my university has gotten coronavirus after returning from Italy but is apparently butting heads over having to self isolate. We as university students haven’t been told, just that there’s a few more leaflets saying ‘please wash your hands and if you’ve been to affected areas stay away!’ lying around (walked into class today and they were placed in front of every seat, thought mmmm that’s new!)
I‘m not sure whether the university will put us all into quarantine over it or just the specific college he’s working at (assuming it’s true) - I think that’s the worst bit about it for me, it’s that sense of the unknown. Whether we’ll all end up on lockdown, whether it’s going to get massively worse here or tail off, whether I should just give up on my degree now cos if I catch it I won’t make graduation
I agree with you, Mrs Garcia. I have generalised anxiety and am actually coping quite well and not panicking which surprises me but I am taking precautions. Of course the Government says not to stock up because if everyone headed to the shops to do so it would be fights and chaos. However, I doubt Boris will be bringing me a bag of groceries if the poop hits the fan and my kids are going hungry, so I'll do what I think is best. Remember the poor people told to stay in their flats by "the authorities" when Grendel burned?I'm afraid that that still sounds rather patronising given that nobody on this thread has said that they are "panicking". I’m in Wales, I think there’s only one or two cases known here (and this new one)Where abour are you? Surely they should isolate? Selfish if he’s not wanting to!
