The same strategies aren't needed for the whole country though. London is not the same as Scotland, which isn't the same as NI. They run their own healthcare services and need to be able to implement a plan that suits the situation they are in. There is some level of overlap in terms of planning and decisions, but ultimately each nation has the power to implement what it wants.
Scotland and NI did/do their own briefings, I'm sure Wales does too.
Generally anything which is solely aimed at England is still broadcast to the whole UK but not vice versa.
It wouldn't surprise me if it was later today ,people might have forgot what Whitty & Co said by tomorrow

Completley agree, many people were very compliant up until that fiasco, after that everyone though duck it, if the government bodies can’t respect their own rules then people won’t either. It sounds like she will!My Nan has just messaged me to say she has tested positive (67, she lives in Spain, only tested because her friend got it), but that actually she feels fine, do I think she is okay to carry on smoking and is it okay for her to go collect a takeaway
If they had forced cummings to step aside, issued an apology then they would have maintained some level of credibility and cummings could have even quietly returned like 6 months later. Instead they have destroyed any chance they have of keeping a high level of compliance with the new restrictions.
Yeah she seems like she’s asymptomatic so that’s a relief, hopefully stays that way. she’s more annoyed she can’t go out partying tbh

I was still nervous about mixing again, only started again in August n now we'll probably have to stop againI really hope they don’t ban mixing households, Ive been so much happier the last few months and I’m sure many more people would agree, and it’s a horrible thought that so many peoples mental health will suffer again
If they leave pubs open I honestly cannot say I will stick to the rules. If I can go to the pub surrounded by god knows how many people (which I havent done and wont be doing) then I can go to my mums obvs keeping social distance
This is coming from someone who stuck to the rules throughout and suffered mentally. Dont think there was a day went by during lockdown that I didnt have a cry.

Anyone know, in areas of local lockdowns have gyms remained open? Do you think they will stay open even with a nationwide lockdown? Honestly if they make them close again it’s going to be so crap 
plus it’ll be heading into winter so the whole JUsT Go For A RuN brigade can piss off. The day I put all my home gym stuff back in storage was such a happy day, the feeling of actually being in a gym with other people... the thought of going back to training on my own in a tiny dark room with crappy equipment just makes me so sad and I have zero motivation. Gonna try and go as much as I can this week before we get our lives ripped away from us again.

I posted a few days ago about how my usually very healthy, happy and active 89 year old Nan became so depressed and withdrawn in the last lockdown and suddenly seemed very “old”. She’s been so much happier going back to her social clubs and bingo 
spoke to my mum yesterday and she said no matter what happens whether we go into another full lockdown she isn’t prepared to see my Nan like that again and will continue to visit her a couple of times a week for a cup of tea and a chat. She’s happy to go back into lockdown and see nobody else but isn’t prepared to put my Nan through it again.
Iwouldn’t blame anyone for slightly adjusting whatever the new restrictions may be to help their own or their families mental health.

There is no set number in NI, 30 is across the rest of the UK or at least England anyway but it is down to the venue in NI. So 100 person wedding in an area where you aren't allowed to have anyone in your house, and only one other household up to a max group of 6 in your garden.
The contradictions are crazy.
