Will that not be in 2weeks when shielding is paused? or is everyone different and have to go through their GP/ consultant
Still have to adhere to strict social distancing measures. I'd be able to go inside their house but must stay 2m apart at all times

So, I have stuck to things pretty strictly so far. I posted back at the end of April that my niece was born, she is now over 2 months old. I have now visited my sister in law so been able to meet my niece which was amazing but I haven't held her yet but am feeling down about the fact I won't have a picture with her at all as a baby. I have so many with her older sister.

In Scotland, they have said SD doesn't apply to children under 12 when 2 households mix so I am considering just having a cuddle with her (I'm in England). She'll never be this teeny again and I want baby cuddles, the risk is course pretty low at the min. What would you guys do?

(To clarify SIL has said we could hold her etc and has let others)
I held my new niece a couple of weeks ago - I wasn’t going to but she was basically passed to me as soon as I arrived :giggle: I had a mask on, and had washed my hands. The risk is very low so if both you and your sister in law are happy then I’d say do it.

The who are now considering calling the virus airborne and they believe it’s caused more by breathing it in than droplets. They now believe the virus can linger in the air for hours and that air con basically circulates it.
Surely they said this at the beginning of covid as it been all nhs guidelines regarding aerosol generating procedures and the downtime after each one

If this is the case I literally don't understand how we haven't all had it. Surely if it can linger in the air for hours everyone who goes into the supermarket after you would get it from you breathing and hand sanitizing and distancing would have no effect?

Unless more of us are asymptomatic than they think? 🤷‍♀️

I still don’t understand how supermarkets weren’t knocked out by covid. Early on in the lockdown supermarkets were pretty much the only place people could go and some were really good at social distancing etc but some weren’t and I still don’t understand how we didn’t have supermarkets having to shut down because a member or multiple members of staff were coming down with it and it needing to be deep cleaned or not having enough well staff to keep it open 🤷‍♀️ I mean I’m glad it didn’t happen but I havent heard of one supermarket being effected. It could be it happened and I didnt hear

I only know 1 person who has had the virus, I’m not sure that many of us would be asymptomatic. It’s such a weird virus, I think it’ll be years and years before we really understand it

My friends mum works in Asda filling home deliveries. Someone on her team apparently got it but the team were told they had to come in still to provide a service. They couldn’t all just go home and lockdown.. seems risky but I also understand jt

I’m sorry but if the virus was within the air to the degree they’re trying to state now, our fatality rate would be much, much worse than what it is now.

Yep, I agree. And no offense but The Who have been so wishy washy with info, I don't really listen to them now.

In january, they tweeted it couldn't be spread human to human. A few weeks later they said it could be.
Then they said no need for masks as they don't protect, now they say wear a mask - we've worn them since the beginning.
A few weeks ago, they said asymptomatic people don't spread the virus it seems, well a few days later they backtracked and said they can.

I know it's a new type of virus but I honestly don't really trust them. Will just keep wearing a mask when I go out and washing my hands.

Well the guidelines we had from like public health and nhs England was that after agp’s we had to have a minimum of 20 mins downtime before we could deep clean the room because after 20 mins the percentage of risk dramatically drops

I work in a Supermarket online picking too, we had 2 people off the same time with positive tests (one symptomatic, one whose husband was poorly, she was positive but asymptotic) We were told 6-7% of us would have to be positive before they would consider closing.

I think I had it end of March. They weren’t testing people outside of hospitals then. I was hospitalised twice in the weeks after though with secondary infections/ailments.

I don't think it's down to the WHO this time it's a group of scientists are claiming this, after studies were done on the effect of the virus indoors .

Ah. I did see a study done at a restaurant where the AC blew the virus up to a few tables of people who got infected so I guess it is possible. That is why I wouldn't go to a restaurant any time soon as you can't wear the mask while eating.

They’ve opened my office back up to a few if you want to go in but no pressure to and they’ve disabled the AC for now.

That is good. My husband is set to go back in a few weeks for 2 days a week, masks are required. It is a big office block tower and not sure what they are doing about the AC. He is going to be taking coffee and water in his own flasks so he doesn't have to use the kitchen. I am definitely quite nervous about him going back and also think I will feel more lonely, lol.

I think they were looking at the different indoor environments like casinos ,the home ,cinemas etc so what you've said makes sense ..

In other news, I was able to have a MacDonald's Breakfast this morning, first one in over 3 months and IT WAS DELICIOUS!
