I'm not getting angry least I'm trying not to.
I totally recognise and see the protesters point of view. They protesting over a valid cause it's just the timing.
I hope they realise they are taking risks with their own health and those around them and take extra precautions over next 2 weeks.

I'm constantly seeing pictures busy local parks on social media and people getting irate.
.I can only focus on what I can control.

I work in a supermarket and customers are getting far too close.
My kids won't be going corner shop anytime soon.
I will restrict their walks to once or twice a week and very quiet areas again.
It all mean basically a very lonely summmer.
We a family of 6 so under the rules can't even lawfully socialise with freinds as a whole family group.
Will reveiw how we live and change in September.
Right now in trying adhere to the rules and limit the effects on my immediate family.
We can't afford be off work for 2 weeks unpaid we have lots bills in July.

I’m not judging people - just hoping that people will take responsibility during a pandemic.
Many people have lost loved ones - and are suffering with mental health issues and are crippled financially.
It’s not over - until it is I will do what I can to keep myself and others safe, and hope others do so too.

If you take no notice of others then why are you judging the people at the protests? 🤷🏼‍♀️

And besides, I can’t really ignore others if they’re hanging over my daughter who has bad asthma though. I try to social distance but it’s kinda hard to avoid people when nobody else is doing it either.

I couldn’t care what others do in general. At this point I’ve lost all fucks tbh. That might sound insensitive but getting angry about it will only make me unhappy. When I’m at home I don’t care. But I can’t not get frustrated at other people while I’m in public and they’re around me and my kids.
When I said ignore others - I meant others who are ignoring safety measures.

Right, which the protesters are... it just seemed a bit contradictory.

As in it doesn’t me we ignore them as well?
I think the only way we can get over this, is do what we can to keep ourselves and others safe - and if others don’t follow suit, we try our best regardless.

But protesting in mass groups of thousands is not social distancing - or keeping yourself or others safe during a pandemic?

I hope we can manage this - if not, and we ignore measures because others are - when will be return to our lives and get out of lockdown?

I have a feeling that easing the lockdown will not last long, because of the protests the lockdown will have to be made stricter again, in fact we could be back to square one.
I don't think they'll lockdown again. You cannot keep people in their homes forever/until there's a vaccine.

You said you ignore others who are not following safety measures. Which is exactly whats happening at the protests, they’re not following the guidelines.

I’m not faulting you at all for having an opinion, it just seemed contradictory to what you said about ignoring other people who were not following the measures.

The next spike won't just be a result of the protests.
People have to take responsibility for their own actions.
I just hope they wore protection and stayed local and maybe self isolate 2 weeks after the protest as a precaution.
Maybe I'm being naive.
What upset a me a lot is the idea of not only more losing their lives but more bame losing their lives.
Black lives matter. All lives matter.
I don't disagree with the cause it's the methods that I'm unsure about that this given time.

As in - carry on following measures, regardless of others who don’t.

I see people breaking measures. Rather than think, what the hell and follow suit - I carry on trying my best to follow measures.
I have given up to much for this (as have most people), to think - what the hell, others aren’t doing it so I don’t give a shite either.

Right okay, I get you now. It just didn’t come across that way. It just pisses me off when people disregard it right in front of me and my kids because that does affect me directly if they did have it. Chances are they don’t but I wouldn’t be comfortable with people in my kids’ space anyway - pandemic or not 🤮

I agree though, people need to take personal responsibility too. If you stick by the guidelines yourself you shouldn’t be at any significant risk so what other people do shouldn’t really bother you at all.

As much as I am over all the restrictions etc, I will keep wearing a mask in public as I hate to think I could unknowingly have it and pass it to somebody.

I’m afraid what other people do (breaking basic social distancing etc during a pandemic) does bother me, but I am powerless to do anything about it.
Everyone who ignores the measures, is not just at risk at contracting the virus themselves, but passing it on to countless others - the high infection rate extends the lockdown, and increases the chances of returning to full lockdown (as if this stage isn’t bad enough).

I haven’t been wearing mine, I thought I’d wait until they made it mandatory but I might start to, just to be safe. And that... I’d feel guilty too if I found out I did have it and passed it on.

Now, if I could convince my four year old to wear hers... 🤔😂

We have made a few and I don't mind wearing it but I forget people can't really see that I am smiling at them. Lol.

Well neither government or the who consistant mask wearing.

Me and my kids wear masks when out.
I try do 1 big aldi shop once every 2 weeks.
Then use corner shop or supermarket where I work as top ups so staying very local.

I don't wear a mask at work and wondering of I should.
I'm ok on till as perspex screens
But maybe on shop floor I should .
Also it's been near impossible 2 metres apart from staff during this time as much as I try and when putting stock out customers get too close.
Not all customers wear masks.
No issues masks in hospitals or public transport that seems wise.

Going to order some nice cloth ones.

Just reading about the shops opening and saw this “Kurt Geiger is planning to quarantine shoes for 24 hours after being tried on, and Waterstones will take books off the shop floor for three days if they are touched by someone who doesn’t buy them” 😂 this is ridiculous.
First off that’s just a ridiculous amount of work for staff especially in somewhere like Waterstones. I mean what are they going to do follow every customer around in case they god forbid touch a book.
Sorry this whole thing is just becoming a circus

Here, some stores are letting people try clothes on but not putting them back on the floor for 3 days. They will have no stock out 😂. I imagine somewhere like Waterstones theyll have someone following people looking at books... My worst nightmare. It should be at the responsibility of the shoppers to not touch their face and wash their hands properly. I was at Homesense the other day and looking at products, I felt bad picking them up and putting them down but Homesense is a store you have to browse..lol

I know right! How awkward. 😂 I just think if they’re reopening then reopen like normal. I agree with you it’s the responsibility of the public to be hygienic. Having measures in place for social distancing is what you would expect from stores I suppose, but the rest is just mental. In the supermarket tens of people have probably picked up the same loaf of bread or packet a crisps and put them back without buying. We touch stuff everyday already. Maybe they stores are just saying what they think we want to hear and will most probably not implement these things!

I still cannot believe this whole situation is real. 2020 feels like a dream.
Does anybody feel like it’s going to be situation after situation now. Like life as we know it has gone and will never return :(
