Is this real as u can't see anything online. ThanksI wonder why it is at 7pm?
I think big changes will be announced in this speech, let's hope its something more than "wash your hands"
I blame the Hinch thread!I’m getting ads for Shark hoovers now. I’d rather the face mask ads back tbh.
Read on twitter house of commons debating the budget until 7pm then Matt Hancock will make a statement re corona. People think it maybe regarding increased testing. And perhaps the late hour is just down to the budget debate but who knows !Is this real as u can't see anything online. Thanks
Are these just standard beds without respirators? So we had a meeting our trust today and we will have maximum 80 beds for corona patients. (80 less for non corona patients may I add). Roughly 1 bed per 3000 people in our catchment area. Shit is expected to hit the fan in the next 2-3 weeks. Good luck everyone lol
It’s interesting isn’t it because I think that’s where people (me included!)have panicked previously and stockpiled etc, because many believe incorrectly that lockdown is literally that no one is permitted to leave their home. In reality thousands of us will still need to go about our lives (emergency workers, retail workers etc. medical staff), and even in this kind of Italian-style lockdown you can still do your usual weekly shop (albeit with limitations on stock and physical distances etc.) or go out for lunch with friends.I don’t 100 percent know but from Italy it looks like it’s all non essential travel. Distancing from people. Restaurants are still open but tables a metre apart. A journalist was saying she can still travel you just have to prove you need to travel for work. Some shops one in one out policy. I think it’s essentially stay in unless you absolutely need to go out and if you do then keep your distance from people. I can imagine some people here though Won’t care. Restaurants open til 6pm in Italy. So for example I might take my children on a bike ride off the beaten track near here to get them out but I wouldn’t go to a play centre
In Italy the police are patrolling the street (with loudspeakers) and there's a form for people fill in to explain why they are out of the house and they've changed the law so that it's a criminal offence to falsify information on it. That's what a bbc reporter said anyway.Even if they announce all but essential travel is no longer permitted, how on earth will they police it?! I imagine (sadly) that if some dickwad wants to go visit their friend, and can come up with a plausible enough (false) reason to do so, then it’s unlikely to be picked up and if it is then it’s too late anyway. The success of any lockdown will rest on the willingness of individuals to adhere to it! (so we’re doomed I tell thee!!)
I think it would only be policed on 'honour' rather than physically policed, as we don't have the resources to patrol the streets etc. Strange times indeed. It’s interesting isn’t it because I think that’s where people (me included!)have panicked previously and stockpiled etc, because many believe incorrectly that lockdown is literally that no one is permitted to leave their home. Whether you would want to is another matter, but I suppose my point is that even if they announce a lockdown it’s not going to mean that large swathes of the country will be trapped in their homes, which is how I had originally envisaged it in all honesty.

I imagine the person she cares for has some kind of social work involvement and they'll have to find alternative arrangements for them. XI wonder how that would work for my mum. She works as a carer but only the hours my little sister is at school/after school club. She couldn't leave a 14 year old at home for 2 weeks.
Just standard beds. Not sure on the number of respirators available. Worst case scenario for staffing levels is dire also. Our health service was already on its knees and this is going to be a disaster. Are these just standard beds without respirators?
With a rough figure of 20% hospitalized it will be overrun if more than 0.16% of people get infected
We luckily did my sons party last weekend as his birthday is next week right near my due date so I didn’t want to risk it. He does have a party on April 4 though in some big inflatable indoor park which I wouldn’t be keen on taking him to nowI am writing my son’s birthday party invitations out for his football party on 3rd April, so that he can hand them out tomorrow in school. My husband just walked past, glanced over my shoulder and said “Blimey you’re bloody optimistic eh?” Fucker.
Obviously there’s school closures and large gatherings banned etc. But yes as is mentioned the police are patrolling and in supermarkets apparently they’re reminding over their tannoy to maintain distance. But you’re right if people want to socialise they’ll do so. Personally I’m going to do everything reasonable to keep us indoors. I’ll order a shed load of paints and play doh and stuffIt’s interesting isn’t it because I think that’s where people (me included!)have panicked previously and stockpiled etc, because many believe incorrectly that lockdown is literally that no one is permitted to leave their home. Agreed. Someone posted on a local community Facebook page near me last night about creating a list of volunteers who would be happy to bring resources to locals who might be elderly or infirm and pop in to visit them if there is a lockdown. Someone else rightly pointed out that while they were really well-meaning, without any checks that might leave some of the most vulnerable people at even more risk of theft, or abuse. It sounds really negative, right? But if you were a wrong-un looking to capitalise, that would be a dream list wouldn’t it? Nice long list of local vulnerable people who will welcome you into their home on the back of a Facebook post so you can bring them a pint of milk and potentially take the cash from under your mattress! We all agreed that we should volunteer to already existing organisations who might be stretched (and where it was just lifting and carrying etc....no unsupervised contact with the end-user) so as it add to their capacity, as opposed to creating some kind of gun-ho local group that would have no checks and balances.I think it would only be policed on 'honour' rather than physically policed, as we don't have the resources to patrol the streets etc. Strange times indeed.
Especially if they close the schools and NHS staff have to stay home to look after their kidsJust standard beds. Not sure on the number of respirators available. Worst case scenario for staffing levels is dire also. Our health service was already on its knees and this is going to be a disaster.
It’s like a horror movie where the under 20s aren’t affected. I mean obviously it’s good but you’re right weird. And I know it’s not the flu but I guess it’s similar in that respect that the flu affects the older population more than the younger population. It’s baffling me that children arnt getting infected? I mean obviously that’s a good thing but I wonder why?
