The UAE has closed schools for 1 month already and they only have 40 cases or so. They seem to be trying to prevent it spreading.I wonder what’s going to happen if the increase continueswill we end up on lockdown like Italy? Will schools close? It’s going to impact on businesses so much

My friend shipped herself and her kids from Dubai back to the UK for a month long holiday so that idea may backfire on them.

The NHS really pulled together then and I’m sure will do again.
I don’t remember any of this worry and media involvement back then - saying that I was probably either working or sleeping.
I know this is different and we don’t know how this is going to go but more out of curiosity just looked at figures from 2009.

I still think (or hope) it's some kind of master plan to get the peak in the summer rather than next autumn winter. If they had of imposed restrictions quickly the economy would have lost billions immediately and all it would have likely done is delayed the inevitable a few months.
We've advanced a lot since Spanish flu, but countries are now so intertwined it makes pandemics so dangerous both for health and the global economy. I don't know if the markets would have priced in this weekend or if they will fall again so steeply, it's 4 hours until Asian markets open.

For those still going on holidays, check your travel insurance thoroughly. Apparently some do NOT cover for epidemic/pandemic diseases.

There will be healthy people that will get really ill and probably die, it’s not a hard and fast rule that it’s only old and immuno-compromised that will be hit bad x
Just seen this....
I'm starting to worry now. People will start getting bored of washing their hands thoroughly and will feel pressured to go to work if they are ill. There's still a significant period of incubation before people are getting symptoms, ugh!
I imagine some schools will close early for Easter.I wish they would hurry up and close the schools...I hate the thought of sending my kids in to that germ pit

If the cases start going up 50% everyday I bet schools will close early for Easter.
Think the problem with closing schools is parents just let them out to play or take it as a chance to go away for a while
