Im in the South West. Im sure i saw somewhere that BJ said schools would be given 3 weeks to prepare the social distancing measures before reopening, so it wont be the end of May which makes me think that exit plan is a load of old tit.
We don't social distance at work at the moment, it's impossible as the children are between 1 and 4 years. We sit them apart at food times but can't do it during play. We wear masks, gloves and aprons.

Adding more children to that will be chaos as there will be even less distance with the children.

And I cant imagine secondary children walking home alone 2 metres apart.

Obviously someone cleverer than me will work out the social distance at school as ic ant work it out!

Although my 12 year old has decided it would be better if secondary school children went back either mornings or afternoons to meet with their tutor, have some time with their subject teachers then do their school work at home online and thinks this could be the future for Higher education. He began writing it as a plan yesterday and wants to send it to number 10 incase they are stuck 😂😂 I admire his confidence!

Im not going to lie if Garden centres open I will be going but if there is a big queue to get in I wont bother. Either way I will enjoy the drive out that doesnt involve bloody food shopping. 😊

I think they will be busy but hopefully after the first few days of opening it will ease off. i think even the reluctant gardeners will be queuing!

Spain is to extend it's state of emergency for a couple more weeks, as the death toll had an unexpected spike after falling for a few days....

This really frightens me. Only a few days ago Boris stood there and said that relaxing any of the restrictions too early would be catastrophic and now here we are. 4000 new cases yesterday and 650 UK deaths. Give it a few weeks under these new measures then we will be back at square one
Same, surely it’s got to be more gradual then this. Opening up cafes where many different households meet up and gather seems crazy straight away. So we have gone from not seeing family to all being able to socialise with whoever

I'm confused about test centres. It says you book an appointment if you have symptoms, but people are booking to see if they've had it. I thought there was no test to check if you've had it yet?

What I mean is all those saying they had Covid earlier this year why could it not just be 'normal' Flu you had ? Flu makes you feel awful ?

If you break your leg it hurts a lot but and if you fractured your leg it would hurt a lot as well but they are different things ?
I think it just seems a bit of a coincidence that most people have never had proper flu or only had it once then them and loads of people they know suddenly got it just before all this came out.

seems a bit of a coincidence. Although some will have just been normal flu of course. Just human nature to now wonder if it was.

Take the press stuff with a pinch of salt at the moment until you hear Boris on Sunday. Remember a few weeks back they reported that tanks and military would be blocking roads and patrolling the streets!

The thing I take issue with is the people downplaying it to get back to normality. These are the same people who probably never had it or who don’t actually know of anyone close to them who has. It’s easy to say “oh it’s not all that bad” when you haven’t experienced it. I’m not saying it’s the worst thing I’ve ever had (I had Sepsis, that was much worse) but it is a horrible illness that is very hard to shake, and that’s me having had it mild. For some, there is no coming back from this. The scary part is, you don’t know how you or your loved ones will react. You might be lucky and it only feels like a bad cold, or you may end up on a vent.
annoys me too..it is not just like flu
.it wiped the floor with me and my husband ! there was a point where i just thought im never ever going to get better. there was no change in how i felt from day 4 to day 11. a normal illness you can feel yourself gradually getting better but not this !
also once its gone you don't just bounce back to normal..it took me another 2 weeks to be able to breath normally and notcoughing.
someone i know from school FIL was filmed by hospital leaving ward recovered and going home only to die 2 weeks later.

Harley Street is Private but yeah, I didn’t know they had a test yet to tell if you had it?

That plan on the daily mail is so confusing. Outdoor gatherings of up to 30 people in June but no restaurants til september even with social distancing? How does this make any sense.

Also if secondary schools go back end of June won't that just be for 3 weeks? What is the point...

Someone on another thread has said the very same about someone they knew dying from it .Made for heartbreaking reading and shows the tragedy of it :( Glad you're feeling better x

It's these mobile test centres. There's going to be one in the next town and I'm so confused why people are tagging each other, my neighbours for instance, when they don't seem to have any symptoms as they're outside sunbathing and popping to the shop 🤷‍♀️

But that only means life isn’t back to normal. Their easing of restrictions still stands.

That's not the anti body test that's just the normal test to determine if you have it ! It's only 70% btw.. you have to be symptomatic do you not ?

The spread of the virus is so different indoors vs outdoors, Matt Hancock said they were looking at different control measure for restaurants and cafes vs cafe's in parks that are mostly outdoors for example.

The current centres are just for people with it currently, if you want an antibody test you have to go private.

I do not believe that timeline at all, why would they send senior schools back inend of June to break up two weeks later. Our Homebase is already open and most garden centres are open for deliveries.

There is no way the football league will wait til October, they are desperate to open now as alot of the footballers refuse to take a pay and they are losing money majorly.

My prediction is an extension on Sunday for another 3 weeks, with an exit plan of schools back in September. Businesss opening if they can social distance and most people being encouraged to work from home for the rest of the year.

I struggle with this idea too because while it’s entirely possible it was covid, surely it would’ve been recognised here before it was? If everyone was sick with it in nov/dec I feel like they would’ve noticed something was up.

Plus there was an awful flu going around. I had it too, felt like I was dying for about 2 weeks.

Not saying it’s impossible, but personally I don’t think it was.

But Boris has said himself that there could be some easing of restrictions from Monday so what will those be? I don't believe the timeline the media are printing as it just doesn't make sense in a lot of areas
