I agree. Amen
this js literally the job of journalists... this is how we have got lots of shocking news across all areas...it is not a bad thing at all. what would you prefer they ask? they do these press conferences every day thereare not eventhat many new questions

They've had answers!!! They are not bleeping listening!!

Can the restrictions be lifted this week?

No. The numbers dip after a weekend and we've yet to hit the peak

It's been 3 weeks at this end of this week, are we looking at relaxing restrictions this week

Same answer as above

Numbers have dropped and we are looking like we may peak this weekend, can we expect restrictions to be lifted next week

Same answer as above.

If I can get it, why can't 10 different journalists get it?
I’d beg to differ (slightly) I do think they’re not willing to give a straight answer because they don’t want people thinking everything will reopen shortly and life will go back to normal. I just think an idea of what sort of order things would go in if and when the lockdown can be lifted would help people.

I’m not sure how press conferences work but you would think they might “vet” the questions so we aren’t asking the same ones over and over again?

I think their lack of answer on Boris indicates he possibly is more ill than they’re willing to say. If he requires oxygen he’s clearly too poorly to breathe on his own
especially considering Whitty refused to confirm if Boris has pneumonia. I get confidentiality etc but if he was well, I’m sure they would have said so?

Avoided the answer as to whether he’s spoken to the PM today 🙄 that’s a no then!

They've already said what will happen. They can't give an answer because they literally don't know that far in advance.

The spread is stopping, restrictions can't be stopped.

If they gave a rough time idea and that didn't happen, people will kick off. Don't give an exact answer, people are still kicking off.

It's like having a nagging child in the back of the car asking if we are nearly there yet.

Why all the secrecy about Boris? Surely it just fuels the speculation that he's actually very ill.?

I’m not talking about timing though. More about the first stage will allow the opening of certain retail businesses or restaurants being allowed to open for take away only, after that (assuming numbers do not go up again) people will be allowed to socialise in small groups. People will fill in gaps with whatever information they have and get anxious about what they are or aren’t being told. But being repeatedly told they can’t comment on it because they’re focusing on the peak is a little specious

Requiring oxygen does not mean he can’t breathe on his own. He might only be on 24% oxygen via nasal cannula, then again he could be on high flow or CPAP.
We don’t know.

It needs to stop whatever the reasoning. The last thing we need is for people to lose trust in the government at a time like this

He won’t just be sat on a ward as we know it, the ward I was on last week the staff had full ppe on, there’s no visitors allowed, phones are left outside apart from the one on the desk etc. I imagine despite being pm there will be rules.

Getting slightly irked by all the “#stayathome” Instagram stories of people basically just having a lovely time chilling in their gardens with a beer. Yes lucky you, you’re being paid to sit at home or do some sort of minimal work. I hate the assumption that we all have this extra time on our hands to make the most of. I’m still in work full time along with all my colleagues, my 61 year old mum is going to her retail job and won’t be furloughed and my partner is self employed and is basically watching his livelihood disintegrate before his eyes. Oh and we’re in a tiny one bed flat with no access to a garden. This isn’t a bleeping holiday!
My Dear, please may I disagree...so much stress...kick back and flounce, chillout I say..My Mama is worried about her diet, just eat and worry later I told her...I simply shant let this thing take me over, you chose to tie yourself to a demanding job my dear....and your Mother works at 61?...gosh I dont plan to ever leave the Beach by that age...It seems you would rather we all be miserable

Are you able to say what region you're in? I've noticed the figures going up a lot in the North West.

I agree. I don't wish to be awful but I've noticed a lot of the ones without underlying health issues that die and their stories end up in the press that a lot of them have been very overweight. I'm overweight but I rarely go to the GP so I wouldn't know if I have any underlying health conditions, so if I was taken to hospital and they asked if I had any health issues I would say 'no' but that doesn't mean I haven't.
I work in a West Yorkshire trust 👍🏼
