Good for you! I think because face masks/gloves aren’t commonly used here people assume YOU’RE ill when you’re actually trying to protect yourself. From what I’ve understood, people in East Asia use these things more commonly as protection. Don’t let people’s ignorance stop you from protecting yourself!
It's the first time that my husband has been impressed by the amount of art supplies in this house. 6 months ago when I stocked up on disposable gloves and alcohol wipes I had no idea how much I would appreciate them. I work with resin for some of my pictures so had just restocked my masks and gloves. Never thought I'd be wearing them out in public 😭

Anyone else’s street have about groups of 20 kids aged 5+ playing outside?
No we are all avoiding each other like the plague (and that saying has never been more relevant 😂) my husband was shouting across the grass to our neighbour earlier and my son was shouting over the road to the boy in his class. On path ways people are moving over now by quite a distance. It’s obviously good but just bizarre. I’m not a huggy person anyway always hated that bit so least I have an excuse now 😂😂

I live in Spain Only 1 person allowed in a car to shop. We wait, we queue and buy only what is needed. Take receipt to show police if stopped and return home to lockdown. Supermarkets have food. The UK, and I'm British, needs to be locked down as you don't follow advice. Images l see of #hoarders is disgusting. I am ex military and wish I was there to escort the elderly to do their shop. They experienced a true war lived and lost loved ones. So when you buy 2 3 4 pkts than you need. Think, Am I a selfish twit?
Please could you clarify something for me?
Obviously we are a different country so our government may apply different rules but would I be able to leave home and go directly to the supermarket to shop for both my household and for my dad? Then from the supermarket, drive to my dad’s, unpack it, and then come straight home? I am getting concerned that I won’t be able to do the drop off at my dad’s.
Thank you.

Do you know those days where you just cry and cry and feel scared??

Yup that's me today 💔💔
Sending virtual hugs. I’m the same today, my 25 year old son is a Dr. in A&E and I’m terrified. Especially after reading today there are 3 junior Doctors, aged 30, on ventilators in London.

Sending virtual hugs. this is the new ‘normal’ for us all for the next few weeks/months. We need to establish new routines that keep us from constantly reading about that’s going on. I felt exactly the same yesterday. I didn’t look at any news or read anything on line until the evening. I did some gardening and odd jobs. I have so many things I need to do but never have time, now I have time. Try and get up at normal time, get showered and dressed, eat at normal times. It’s ok to feel all of those emotions, we will experience it. Look after yourself

*Locks them in a safe* 😂
Remind me again,,where do,you live 😂😂

I didnt stock pile and all the online slots are taken so I need to do the food shop tomorrow. I'm really worried about being near people. Should I wash my clothes when I get in? I'm buying for my family of 5 and my elderly dad (I'll drop his off on his doorstep).

I've got antibacterial wipes I'll use to wipe the trolley handle.
I’m in the same boat as you. I’m petrified of being a carrier and giving this to my dad.
Unfortunately my dad is disabled so I can’t just drop his shopping on the step and run.
I have to unpack it and whilst I’m there I put his laundry on and wait for it to finish the wash cycle. I will be changing the wash programme to the quickest wash, which I think is about 40 minutes, so that it further reduces the time I’m there.
I’m so scared that I could be the one who puts his life in danger but he can’t do these things himself.
I know none of you can reassure me but these thoughts are keeping me awake in the early hours and I just need a place to release it.
Thank you for listening.

Yes 50sGirl l will try to explain from Spain if you want. Like I said you are 2 weeks behind us. Look at uk and Spain death rates.
So if you think it's ok to go out walking and being around people so be it.
The UK have been warned. You have enough food now and just stay at home. Food will be available. Yesterday I went to shop for basics and I was faced with strawberries and vegetables etc. I live alone with my dog so I went straight to dog food yes. Milk bread eggs and chicken to share with my dog of course.
We clap and sing at 8pm for all keyworkes. Medical yes, but drivers and staff that keep the food on the shelf.
Please stop going outside. Just 1 person goes for supplies and only take what you need and respect and think about the elderly.

This is really off topic 😂 but I didn’t know where to put it.

I’ve got a code for NOWTV Sky Movies which is £2 for 2 months.

What with us all staying inside I thought someone might be able to use it?? I already have another account so I have no need for it.

sorry back on track now. just didn’t want it to go to waste
Yes please! What’s the code?

I am so stressed today.

Firstly, our boiler has stopped working so we have no heating or hot water. If we go into lockdown within the next day or so, how on Earth can we get it fixed?!

Secondly, my husbands parents turned up. Walked into the house. They are both elderly and have underlying health conditions. My father in law often comes round to do our gardening, so I’ve made them stay outside. My husband and son have been at school all week, so could be carrying the virus. When I explained this to my father in law, he said not to worry as he is “indestructible” 🙄

Thirdly, my 63 year old mum (a nurse!!) text me to ask if I wanted anything from Tesco. She went yesterday so what on Earth does she need?! I text her to say I don’t think she should be going out. She is planning on making an afternoon tea and has invited us and my brother’s family. When I said it wasn’t a good idea she said she would be strict about the hygiene.

WHY DOES NO ONE UNDERSTAND?!

Also, my husband thinks I’m being over dramatic 😞

Don’t assume my wealth. We are thinking it through. the virus is passed on by human contact. We would have zero human contact. Gloves are available at petrol stations.
Listen love, not one single person has recommended that you head for the seaside. Not. One. Person. And the virus is not *just* passed on through human contact, please don't be naïve enough to think that. Please just stay home, where you are and stay safe with your family.

I think you misunderstood my post.
I’m not leaving my house!
I was asking for when I DO need to drive to the supermarket for food for my household and for my dad, would I be able to drive it to him before driving home? I will be the one person getting the supplies.

God Facebook in general is too much this week.

It's either share after share of info from the front line.

People being twats and saying it's nothing, going out or trying to say they had it at Christmas and are immune to it 🙈

Or sharing 50,000 home schooling ideas, workout videos, French lessons.

It's information overload ! I wish people could just post the government advice and bloody follow it !
So agree it's

Selfish gits stockpiling pics queues and empty shelves.

Look at these stupid mum's or teenagers not staying in

Or clap for the nhs

yeah, I've let my stuff get dusty with work and lifestuff interrupting. Now I've actually got time to get creative, I may as well slosh something around.🎨
