Well I dont have any plastic gloves I was debating whether to wear rubber gloves but thats just too weird.😆 The cashiers at my local co-op were wearing plastic gloves.
people are walking around with Black Death masks I think anything goes at this rate 😂

Also, if the announcement is later today than yesterday, I wonder what that means? (Purely guessing)

I don't have one! 😭

I have a teeny bog standard studio flat, but I do have big windows so won't complain and the rent is super cheap compared to London.

NB If anyone wants to do a #collaboration I'm open to influencing my 4 followers.
My friend is currently living in Spain under lockdown and she said police are patrolling the streets and you can only leave to go supermarkets or walk your dog - you have to have written proof of this (idk who writes this and how its proven lol). But she showed a video of the supermarkets there and they had EVERYTHING in stock. No panic buying and no mad rush, she said it was so calm even being put in to lockdown, people just went with the flow and stayed home.
I live in Spain Only 1 person allowed in a car to shop. We wait, we queue and buy only what is needed. Take receipt to show police if stopped and return home to lockdown. Supermarkets have food. The UK, and I'm British, needs to be locked down as you don't follow advice. Images l see of #hoarders is disgusting. I am ex military and wish I was there to escort the elderly to do their shop. They experienced a true war lived and lost loved ones. So when you buy 2 3 4 pkts than you need. Think, Am I a selfish twit?

I work in a fairly large building with various different companies (office based) and the building remains open. We've been told to remain coming into the office unless we live with someone vulnerable or develop symptoms ourselves. My job can be done from home, do you think I should refuse to go in?

We have a family chalet in Cornwall: we were thinking of still going on our Easter break down there for a week.

It’s in a place that has the most enormous expansive beaches, it’s not particularly popular like eg st ives, polzeath etc, and we barely bump into people during the high season as it is. we’d just take our supplies for the week, hole up in the chalet and be self-catering for the entire time.

Thoughts?
No dont ! its ok saying your taking supplies but presumably you dont live in Corwall so you will have to travel. possibly a distance so will need to stop at services or a petrol station , you may be carrying the virus with no symptoms possibly transmitting it to others. Cornwall and Devon do not want people like you coming down. What it you fall ill ..your then possibly taking a hospital bed away from a local person.
Can you not just stay put ?
The sooner people stop going out unnecessary the sooner this will go away !

I dunno what boris is going to say today but I think even if he doesnt want a lockdown yet he needs to give everyone a warning that he will put us on lockdown and there will be fines if people don't stop.

my oh is in a very similar situation. Big office building a few thousand work there from diff companies. He Is working from home. But his 3 managers went in end of last week, like they are trying to prove some kind of point. He’s had phone calls from other staff members who are staying at home. They are perfectly able to work from home, and they are all putting in extra hours with no overtime pay to help keep the company going.

Bizarrely, the girl on the till clocked my gloves and started rubbing her hands on her trousers like I was infected 🤦‍♀️ I was actually trying to be careful. All they had was a blue roll next to the till. No protection, no hand gel. Seriously, if companies aren't offering basic protection to their staff they need to close. I'm not leaving the house without gloves, wipes and alcohol gel. Yesterday I made the kids and husband wait in the car while I grabbed the last few things we needed. We intend to stay in COMPLETELY unless we *have* to get food and then only 1 of us will go. With our Hazmat kit 🙄 👍

Practically all the shops etc here are wearing gloves and visors.. bank,co-op ,takeaways.. they've even erected perspex screens on checkouts and cashiers desks..so if you want to rock the marigolds do 😆

Which part of putting other people lives in danger don't you understand. Did you listen to Dr Jack. You are 2 weeks behind Italy and Spain.
What about the Cornish people who live there or do they not matter because you are wealthy enough to have a second home. This virus doesn't discriminate. You are taking a revolver with a bullet and spinning it every time. Protect your family but not to the detriment to others.
Mankind is being tested and when we come out of this. We can reflect on our actions and behaviours. How will you feel?

My local shopping centre has also closed the food court, reduced hours and several of the shops are now closed. I have a friend that works at a travel agents in the shopping centre and she’s said it was so quiet yesterday and there were also armed police. I’ve not seen armed police in a shopping centre since the Manchester bombing.
Why are travel agents even still open?! 🤔
I understand they may need someone to man the ‘phones for queries re cancelled holidays but there is no need to be physically in the shop is there? Am I missing something?

Good for you! I think because face masks/gloves aren’t commonly used here people assume YOU’RE ill when you’re actually trying to protect yourself. From what I’ve understood, people in East Asia use these things more commonly as protection. Don’t let people’s ignorance stop you from protecting yourself!

I didnt stock pile and all the online slots are taken so I need to do the food shop tomorrow. I'm really worried about being near people. Should I wash my clothes when I get in? I'm buying for my family of 5 and my elderly dad (I'll drop his off on his doorstep).

I've got antibacterial wipes I'll use to wipe the trolley handle.

The Chinese definitely covered this up but had to own up when it went out of control. as you say people travelling all over the place spreading it round the world.
i can honestly say i dont think ive ever seen so many chinese people here as i have since Coronavirus outbreak..maybe we just didnt notice them before..but the seemed to be everywhere..even in my local sainsbury's!
Probably just the media but every photo of an area in europe affected or quiet because of drop in travellers had the obligatory asian in mask in the picture!
I do think that once this is over they need to be accountable for this and they need to take a long hard look at the way they eat and keep/sell animals. they also need to be made to be more truthful!
Are you in a university town? I think it was the time of year just before it all really kicked off that there was a new influx of foreign students, not just from China but everywhere. My friend deals with the foreign students who come to our local university and all the Chinese students had to self isolate for 14 days so if maybe that there genuinely has been an increase in foreign students in your town. I felt very bad for them, I did a year abroad as part of my degree and it’s scary anyway at the best of times and they came over just as it was kicking off so they had to isolate in a foreign country and not know if their families were ok.

I'm surprised we have not had a 'Covideo now on youtube guys'

How to style your face mask with outfits from Primark.
How we baked banana bread waiting for Boris to update
Our reaction to Rishi!! He said what?!!!!
Trolled by UK GOV Influencer not on the key worker list 😉
I’ve heard that any coronavirus videos will be demonetised by YouTube hence why the “influencers” aren’t doing them! Nothing in it for them!

It wouldn’t do any harm and I think it’s worth it if it’d help put your mind at ease a little too

The mental health side of this is important. If you’d feel better for doing these sort of things you should, regardless of any evidence or lack of that it would practically help (obviously as long as there’s not evidence that it’d have a negative effect!)
