I've only just caught up with Wednesday's episode - it was dreadful and an anti-climax. The writers had been building the domestic violence story for several months, only to completely destroy the good work in one episode.
A list of things that was wrong with the episode..
Alya leaving Yasmeen alone in the flat, when everyone knows what Geoff is capable of.
The dreadful demolition of part of the Street senario - really badly acted, poorly executed.
Where did Debbie Webster's devious nature come from? She was a girl with a sweet nature back in the 1980's.
The final scenes with Geoff, Alya and Yasmeen up on the roof. Yasmeen having a sudden epithany and declaring that she is no longer afraid of Geoff. Total rubbish.
I honest believe that the 60th anniversary episode will be remembered as one of the worst in the show's history.
