Exactly! She had an inkling something wasn't right so bloody pull the bed out, the wardrobe. At least bend down and look under the bed. Does she not hoover the wee boys room lol.
And wipe off the mould spores with bleach. Not a cure, but minimises the effects on the child.

Not true. My post grad dissertation was on damp and mould in properties. Most of my work within local government and housing associations was on damp erradication, especially from condensation. Bleach kills the mould spores, and delays its return. Not a cure, and you'd have to repeatedly clean the area. The root cause has to be dealt with. I could talk for hours on damp in properties and how to prevent it. It's a fascinating subject.
I really don't see the point to Lauren, she's insufferable with her lip curling and face pulling.

I always rave about him and his episodes. Love that he brings in characters that are underused and remembers people (like baby Frankie and the mention of Imran).
I find her quite realistic. Plenty of pubs I’ve been have a young surly barmaid that ignores you while stilling on their phone and is put out that they’ve actually got to do their job.
Its more how OTT her facial expressions are, like year 10 drama. She's just irrelevant.

I used to work in a research facility. In the conjoined building we had a Fungi-lady, researcher in a hugely locked down, negative pressure building, where she looked at fungi all day. We used to think it would be really lonely. Just she and her spores.
They and the images under the bed just filled me with so much anxiety. When you go into houses where the smell of damp hits you and the LL keep blaming the tenant for not opening windows, not using enough bleach, not keeping things dry
You would be so fascinating to talk with. I hope CS does this storyline justice. Please pull apart anything that isn't realistic for you in the UK and tell us.
There are so many great options for dealing with condensation mould growth, which is still the major cause in rental properties. Who can afford to keep the heating on with the windows open when you can hardly afford the rent? Of course there's always mould growth from water ingress and lack of insulation, and that's a whole different subject. However moisture laden air still needs to be eradicated. No good insulating a flat, sealing windows, repairing roof etc. and then not dealing with the moisture laden air.

As I say I could talk for hours on the subject. Landlords who just treat the walls with antifungal paint and then argue they've dealt with the problem are the true villains. This is the approach I imagine Idris will use in Abbie's flat, paint over the mould. They need to at least mention options such as heat recover ventilation systems, positive pressure fans, moisture control methods.
But like all subjects covered by Corry, it will be glossed over (see what I did there) and forgotten in a couple of weeks.
No one seens to remember Jack lost a leg. It's never mentioned. He never goes for leg replacements as he grows. Never has problems with his stump. Never talks about difficulties encountered by disabled people. Everything is all so easy in soapland.

I was surprised by the doctors admitting the mould could cause Alfie's illness; I developed adult onset asthma after living a damp property where the landlord slapped anti-fungal paint on and called it a day, and my GP refused to entertain mould as the cause. This was 12 years ago. She was like "Oh get rid of your cat." I did not in fact get rid of my cat. Same landlord took one of my coats with him one day, and when I asked him to give it back, he said to meet him at his church (him being the one with the car and me being the student who had to get three buses to where he was). He was greeting people all holier-than-thou and then saw me and looked at me like dirt. Like sorry for wanting my Asda coat back as a student with no money.

At least Idris and the guy who sold him the flat seem believably sleazy.
