I have just finished watching this. I loved this series. Not a fan of Clarkson but a convert because of this. I love the way he interacts with Kaleb and Gerald.

I probably would have started the harvest without Jeremy if I were Kaleb, once he joined in he started wrecking things, making mistakes and getting so stressed it must have been much quicker and simpler doing it without him for a while. I like to think Kaleb knew Jeremy was stressed and busy at the pub and was trying to be helpful taking on the harvest by himself.

That's a new thing. Morrisons does shout a lot about backing British farming and produce. And has always historically been very good in that regard.

Still shit on prices etc. but Sir Ken's company did back British produce. The company it is these days, less so in the clutches of awful American private equity. But still probably towards the least worst end of the scale.

Didn't realise there was a Clarksons Farm thread - I love this show!

I grew up watching Top Gear and always loved Jeremy, but for some reason avoided this show for years because I thought it would be gimmicky. But, after a few friends raved about how good it was, I decided to give it a go. I became OBSESSED. As many of you said already, it was not just a heart-warming and funny show but it also highlighted how tough it is to be a farmer. I genuinely had no idea it was like that.

I asked for a Hawkstone Cider box that comes with Diddly Squat crisps for my bday this year - can confirm both cider and crisps were delicious!! Also bought my dad some Hawkstone IPA which he enjoyed.

My son appeared with the beer one day and said it was lovely. We live quite nearby so I've told the OH that we're going for a nose. I want to buy some Jeremy Juice lol. A friend went when they were doing the potato sales thing and spent a fortune on potatoes and 'free' tea towels.

Don't know if anyone can read the link as it's from Apple News but Jeremy's written an article in today's Times about his new pub 'The Farmer's Dog' - looks like there could be a TV series in it

That vendetta he has against Clarkson, absolutely no thought or care about the other farmers. Just hates Clarkson and has too much time and money on their hands, and definitely shops at Lidl refusing to pay fair money for food even though we all know supermarkets are constantly screwing farmers.

My husband isn’t a fan of clarkson and he was on clarksons side! It’s all the local farmers not just him!
That poor cow farmer who lost half her cattle was relaying on the farm shop.

I've now finished watching the whole eight episodes and have nothing but admiration for JC now, and all the people who have stayed with him and supported him throughout so many difficulties.

I think the local people and council who have tried to prevent him moving on with his life are jealous busy bodies who are hypocritical idiots, trying to justify their own self importance. I read yesterday that there is a group who are taking the council to task, and I say good for them.

Especially due to the fact that him not getting planning permission etc affects the neighbouring farms too, who would be selling their produce and meat at the restaurant. I felt so sorry for the woman whose herd got TB and she had to put half of them down.

The bit with the horn burning was difficult to watch, as were the cancerous crisps almost cutting JC's hand off!

Loved watching the calves being born though.

I know JC is a total knob in most circumstances, but he's brilliant in this show.

Binged the whole season at the weekend and loved it. I know some of it is embellished for entertainment purposes but it still keeps the charm and is a good reflection of what I know to be farming life for SOME farmers.

My friend kept on at me to watch this as I was a young farmer years ago. Just started watching and it’s hilarious but I’m impressed!

I bought 4x300mls in Morrisons the other day there, it was £7.50 and that was on deal!! I’m in Edinburgh and a nervous driver so the chance of me going down that way is very slim. I thought the beer was pretty mediocre but my husband liked it.

Can’t wait for the next season.

We really enjoyed it, I was surprised to see him being genuinely in awe and respectful of the farmers who knew what they were doing and then being a bit emotional about his livestock.
Also the real concern Jeremy showed for Gerald when he isolated through the pandemic.
I also liked to watch Ellen at work, she's learned her craft and was clearly loving her life.

I had tears running down my face watching episode 2 when Kaleb bumped his head in the grotto and then they both got shocks on the fence

We had to pause it at that point as we couldn't see the tv from tears.
