Barely any trace of Christmas at my nearest big Sainsburys, except the stacks of drinks that are too heavy to move.

Did watch one woman empty the shelves of reduced Christmas dog products though. Don't even know if what she chose was good because she snagged them all. Got a couple of fancy chutneys and the last tiramisu nuts mix. £1.25? I will, thanks.
Ooh I was tempted by the chutneys! Did you get the gingerbread one? Enjoy the nuts, they sound great! 😊

There was definitely less leftover than previous years but I guess they’re stocking less and people are looking out more for bargains with the cost of living 😥

The nuts are delicious and worth the calf stretch to grab them 😅 I got the ruby port one and the apricot one. There are stacks more of the gingerbread option so may get it next week if still available.

I'm glad for the stock levels being better but don't have nearly enough mince pies and know that'll be an issue when the craving for one hits in May.

I never did see any of the tiramisu nuts in any of the Sainsbury's I went to over Christmas! I've only just removed them from my shopping list on my phone 😅

There were still quite a few reduced Christmas dog treats in the big Sainsbury's in Camden yesterday. There's a mini shelving unit right at the back of the store where the frozen section is if you're still after any!

That Sainsbury's is also still selling the premade peppermint mocha by Califia Farms, which is kind of Christmassy 😅 I definitely grabbed a bottle of that and also some of the Califia Farms pumpkin spice oat milk while it was there, because they're probably not going to be getting any more in until September 😩

I got the apricot one for Christmas, it’s really good! The shelf was full of the gingerbread ones here too so I thought it wasn’t popular! I’ll probs get one next time, I mean what chutney doesn’t taste nice?! 😅

It’s not fair that hot cross buns are available all year but mince pies aren’t 🙁

As much as I love mince pies, I'm glad that they're only available for a few months

I would love to say the same about McDonald’s Christmas Cheese bites but I’m in mourning. Don’t even really like McDonald’s but those things are like crack.

The Company Shop is what you need. They've the big bags of cheese bites from Mcdonalds. At least so I've seen on Instagram. Sadly as a Londoner I can't get anywhere near one but it might be of use?

ETA, there's one in London but it's a community shop and I don't drive. Still, good to know it's there.

I love Christmas but I was sad the Grinch wave at McDonalds got rid of those garlic and black pepper nuggets they were doing, they were lush.

Shun the non believer! 😮

Only joking of course! I love mince pies, but I guess it does make them more special only being around a few months of the year ☺

Has anyone got any recommendations for a good Christmas market trip? We've done Lapland and I want another Christmassy adventure 🥰 I am doing some research into Frankfurt as would love to go, I thought this would be the thread to ask.

😂😂

But yeah, I think seasonal items should only be available during that season (and maybe a few weeks either side). It makes them a bit more special and something to look forward to. I fully appreciate I'm in the minority though, because there's no way the shops would be selling seasonal items months before the event if people weren't buying them!

I say all this, but I'm also stockpiling pumpkin spice oat milk (it's long life and doesn't need to be refrigerated until after opening), so I'm a massive hypocrite 🤣

I read that Iceland have a dupe of the McDonald’s cheese bites

Before we had the children, we went away every Christmas and visited many markets - to be honest, they're all pretty similar. Berlin was a favourite of mine but it was more their history and the sightseeing of a day, with a little wander about the markets before we retired to our hotel for bed. I would recommend picking a country you want to explore with the market as an added extra

Ive done Cologne and tbh it was just too packed to be enjoyable which has put me off German markets. Lille in France is meant to be good, as is Riga in Latvia. UK wise the best one ive been to is York

I just booked a Tui package, I can’t be bothered with all the DIY stuff.
Quoting you again to say I’ve just booked TUI after all my research they came out giving pretty much what we wanted at a price I could afford.
4 nights from Weds 9th Dec, so blinking excited already!
Randomly I was looking at 3 nights with them and it worked out a better deal to go for 4 so we now have a full free day

Two exciting Christmas things for me today!

- signed up for a new savings account which pays 7.1% gross monthly - I have moved my Christmas savings pot to there and should have an extra £70ish for Christmas this year :)

And if anyone wants a mega early bargain Home Bargains have this Disney playset at £19.99, it’s currently £50 on Amazon!
