I got one of those tree bags this year from home bargains instead of keeping it in the box and why does it look like a body bag 🙃 been watching too much greys anatomy 🤣
We say this about our tree bag, in fact we generally refer to it as the body bag 😂😂 especially when we're trying to haul it down from the loft!

I got this for a £1 earlier. Fairly sure it won't be bettered as a bargain this year but I'm delighted.

Love this. Exactly the same as me. We were never well off but always had amazing Christmas times. It’s why I love it so much now. I save in the credit union all year, direct from my wages. Every January I start again, so I never miss the money. Same every pay day, i pay into Tesco and I’ll start an M&S pot now.
I need to do an M&S pot - the party foods always make a dent in my savings!

One of my Park choices is always a M&S gift card. It's one of the best things to have in your purse at the time.

I’m in an early days relationship with someone who I like a lot and he knows my love for all things Christmas. We spent the 28th together and did all things Christmas for us which was lovely. He gave me some beautiful skincare and perfume and told me to remember every day has 24 days.
When I arrived home there was a delivery of a bottle of port that we tried together on a distillery tour in Edinburgh which was delicious and an advent calendar of red wine and port. He told me he admits it was on offer but that he thought it might help keep the spirit alive just a little bit longer 🥰

Also picked up 7 rolls of wrapping paper from Asda yesterday for 23p a roll!
They had lots of reduced mince pies / gingerbread / cards and crackers and for some reason an absolute shelf full of Christmas bow bath mats, so much so that I wonder if they ordered too much as there was easily over a hundred 😬

Phew…just taken down all the indoor decorations (two trees, various garlands, nutcrackers…), vacuumed and put everything back where it belongs in the living room. I was up pretty early and got it sorted within two hours, so I’m feeling pleased. Managed to whittle down the storage too, so my husband will be thrilled that he has fewer boxes to put back in the eves. Still need to put the outdoor lights and reindeer away, but I’ll wait for him to get home as they’re all plugged into his office supply. It definitely feels bare, but I bought some electronic tea lights which I’ve put out in little hurricane glasses, and LED candles for my holders so alongside the globe lights I’ve left up inside the front door and kitchen window so some twinkle will remain for the dark nights.

Is there a Spring/Easter thread? I'm already looking forward to being sat outside in the sun with a glass of vino

I’ve only seen a Halloween one. But we did speak about Easter and the other holidays all year on last years thread. Traditions, Easter dinner etc, decorations

Great idea. I said on the last thread, I topped up my Tesco Christmas savers account yday.
I used to buy one of those saving tins every January and save £2 and £1 pound coins for my Christmas M&S shop, but literally never have cash now never mind change. I just use Apple Pay all the time. I’ll maybe set aside an envelope and put something away every pay day if I remember to go to a cash point.
I have a plum account and you can set it to take whatever you want and put it in a Christmas pocket!

Last year I did £150 a month into a Christmas savings account which was brilliant, and paid for a Christmas break away too. I’ve upped it to £200 this year.

That’s me, I save into my credit union, comes straight from my wages every month so I don’t notice it. Game changer.
