Looking for opinions on whether or not to take down the huge wreath I made for my front door? It ended up cost me around £60 as some of the boys from the original wreath kit I bought on Etsy only lasted a week so I had to order more foliage from another seller. It still looks great due to the amount of rain we've had keeping the moss ring damp and it breaks me heart to have to bin it. I'm the only one in the street with mines still up tho and the neighbours already think I'm a nutcase should I take it down or leave it up?

Oh you've made me remember I have multicoloured flashing solar lights right around the perimeter of the front garden which I had forgotten about as I don't go out at night, they were originally put up for Halloween and I couldn't be arsed taking them down. I swear my neighbours must hate me! Lol, if they were warm white like my back garden ones it would be fine but they look like the friggin circus oh sod it, I might as well leave the wreath too

It's lovely. My understanding is things don't have to be taken down till the 6th or 7th of January.
You could move it to the back garden. Somewhere you can see it from the window to enjoy whilst it's still alive.
Seems a shame to destroy it because of "what people might think."
ETA. The older you get the less you bother about what people think.

My fella finished all his Xmas chocolate last night

I’ve still got 2 big bags of the only strawberry quality streets, a box of the Nestle dairy box, a packet of pigs in blanket crisps and some fererro rochers I like to take my time

we haven't opened any of our Christmas chocolate as yet

Once the Christmas stuff comes down then I will put some solar lights outside just to cheer up the dark nights. It's what I like to call winter decor.

you could try taking out the eucalyptus, ivy and conifer as they will go brown and die off, the blue pine will dry off and turn more silvery blue, you should be able to store it in a black bin bag in a hut if its moss based, if you want to keep displaying it out doors you could use it to suit events or seasons, valentine spring easter summer halloween etc

Your wreath looks absolutely beautiful! As others have said, you should keep it up as long as you like, especially as it’s not been the 12th night yet. You could even take it apart and put anything that’s still fresh in a little vase

Also, an idea for next year, to save money you could forage cuttings from woods/parks to make your wreath. I did this for the first time this year, you just have to embrace looking a little bit crazy, but I went with my sister and we spent an afternoon making them which was really nice!

I’ve not even opened the quality street or hero’s tubs and as a fatty that’s very disciplined of me! The Ferrero I enjoyed over last few nights but the guylian sadly didn’t make it to Christmas!

we've got solar lights around the decking fencing and hot tub house, sadly in my part of the country we haven't been getting a lot of winter sun, the hot tub house one's stay on for around 5 minutes at the moment as they are indoor and the solar thing is positioned on the inside of the glass the fence and railings for a little longer, during the summer the majority stay on until till dawn which is fab, we'll start to see a difference in light now we've passed the shortest day, looking forward to Spring, we've had so much to do with renovating the inside of the house, roughcasting the outside and getting the garden done we are now on the home straight weather permitting, so looking forward to enjoying the garden finally this year and great to think it will only be maintaining from now on

Keep the wreath up . It's more of a winter thing than being specific to Christmas.

Leave it up at least until the weekend? I must admit I normally take mine down on what would be tomorrow but husband has friends coming over so I put decorations away today so it's all clean. We're the last ones on the street too!

The pictured wreathes are beautiful! I had one for the first time this year, and made it myself. It's the last of my decs up.

I don't want to throw it away, but I'm terribly superstitious - worry about "bad luck" if I leave it up beyond the 12th Night. My plan therefore is to take it down from the front door and put it in the back garden, removing its Christmas decoration status.

Currently listing unwanted or duplicate presents on Vinted. Feels ungrateful but normally I’d keep them for 6 months and then give to charity.

I refuse to feel guilty for doing the same, especially after the crap I got this year from certain people 🫠 I'll also be taking a load to the charity shop. One of my goals this year is to declutter the house, so I feel that's a good start
