Tips I used for years…
- wrap all place mats in gold or silver paper for a fancy look, especially if you have a lot that don’t match
- buy cheap wine glasses ( supermarket value ones). Then with a gold pen, write each person’s name and a few stars, etc, and Xmas 2023. That’s their glass for the day. And they take it home with them. Cheap, no washing up, saves smashing your good ones.
- foil dishes are your friend. Not just for cooking but to put on the table with all the veg, etc.
- chocolate decorations for tree and expensive. Buy a small box of quality street and use thread to tie them on. The ones that you cannot tie, like the green triangles, are yours as a reward.

Sorry if this has been asked but can anyone recommend an advent calendar for an adult female? I fancy treating myself this year to one but not a clue where to start looking I’m not fussy, I’ll take any ideas on board!

I got myself the White Company one which is a little dear but I live in NI and don't have a white company shop here yet love the products so that was my excuse for getting it to try out all the different smells

Look Fantastic seems to be one of the better beauty ones this year
Asos, Next & Boots all have good ones too. I guess just have a nosey at them all and see which one you feel you would get the majority use out of the products.
Next is a bit more expensive than in previous years for very similar products which is worth keeping in mind. I know everything is more expensive but its a bit cheeky. xx

Balsam Hill have got another sale on, allegedly 40% off. I went to check the price of the tree I bought the other week and it's gone up in price, it was cheaper in the 30% sale.

By the way, what do you guys put at the top of your tree? Those heavy stars with the spiral bit are too heavy for my top branch.

We used to have that same issue but a hanging angel decoration broke so we poked a hole in it and now we shove that on top of the tree

Yes! They often do sales so I'm 99% sure there will be one at Black Friday.

Oh I didn’t know home bargains have their own version, thank you! If they’re cheap then it’s worth giving them a try!

Or maybe a tree-scented candle would be better? Does anyone have any recommendations?
