(Slight deriaioment: there's a very interesting BBC series called Fake or Fortune (some episodes are in Y/T) shiowing the sometimes lengthy process of establishing whether or not a painting attributed to an artist is the real thing. A great insight into the world of forensic examination of paint samples brush techniques, etc.).
I love Fake or Fortune! Fascinating information on there.

Hope this is less scary. I chose it because I like Tattys costumes and boots! I'm so shallow. They are "so affordable". 😁
As someone that used to make my own costumes for the SCA, Ren Faires and Necronomicons I found her costumes quite pleasant.

This was just posted...

Tonight’s vlog will be 45 minutes late, so at 10pm French time. Here is a sneak peak of “Pigeon Tower” as I’m super excited that in tonight’s vlog we’re finally able to reveal our footage of the secret projects we filmed for TV. Pigeon Tower is the first one and the second one is the amazing transformation of the Entrance Hall!! See you in the premiere in just over an hour ❤ 🏰 ❤

I like the color of the walls (and I love a spiral stairwell!) but I'm not a fan of the bird photos...😐

I don’t think cobblestones qualify as “antiques” as MPK’s video title suggests. Antiques are defined as “a collectible object such as a piece of furniture or work of art that has a high value because of its considerable age.”

If a cobblestone counts as “antique,” I could say I’ve got an antique rock in my backyard garden…it’s about 1 billion years old! Quite old! How much will you give me for it? 😄

MPK calls a lot of things “antique”…I guess if something is older than the length of his latest relationship, he thinks it’s “antique!” 😆

I also agree with Pa , stop talking and get on with the work! It annoyed me how much he was dilly dallying in the beginning!

healthy lifestyle.
Daily/routine life is the most difficult. Sometimes the
moments between the moments suck me dry to the point of discontent and at other times, I don’t have time to label it. Sorry— I’m not inferring into your life, just rambling❤

@Wee Donkey ”Who the frack does she think she is? Princess Di?”

No idea what you and a couple others are referring to, so will check that out!!

i dont like sugarcoating...
One of the reasons that I appreciate your posts.

And my OCD kicks in when seeing this - who on earth is going to dust all these picture frames - I suppose I can answer my own question here - absolutely NO-ONE ......

What is Necronomicons? (Just curious….)
It's a science fiction writers symposium where they have writers, artists, collectors, cosplayers, vendors, party rooms, food...oh it was so much fun! The only ones I went to were in Tampa, Florida. I met so many famous writers and artists and bought so much artwork. I loved it. But it was so expensive (for me at least). But I'd go again if I could!

Just watched the latest Chateau Diaries, the red tower stairs are horrible. I can not believe that anyone would think it looked nice, much less allow it to be filmed for other people to see. Was it a joke? I hate the paint color and the stupid idea of the craptactic pigeon pictures. Living there, I would refer to that area as one of the following depending on my mood:
Murder tower
Death stairs
Scary stairs
Bloody steps
Spooky spiral
Redrum (from The Shining)
Shining stairs (also from The Shining)
Ugly

Actually, I would just call them the tower stairs because I would immediately repaint & remove the tacky decor.

Just had time to watch The Pethericks…OMG! You weren’t kidding!!! Talk about scraping the bottom of the barrel for content. Biffy didn’t think Starlink would be interesting…he was right! Was this whole video just one long Starlink ad? If so, I demand restitution for my wasted time! And…$10 billion and 30,000 satellites just so Teabag can upload his pity party videos faster? Maybe a little bit of overkill? Sounds like a lot of space junk to me!!! 😆

Oh…and Marquis, after watching the vlog, I apologize for challenging you to a duel at 20 paces. You’re right…they need to find a job! 😄

Yes, that latest Petherick vlog was a 10-minute infomercial. MPK was sponsored by Coupert on his cobbler vlog. He realized making another cry-me-a-vlog won't work anymore. YouTubers charge brands between up to $50 per 1,000 views. Who knows what financial or service deal they have struck?

i dont like sugarcoating...i guess if i made a vlog about chateaulife it would be very refreshing...and btw i dont need patreons...nobody has to send me hotwaterbottles nor stuffed hedgehogs or even spode
Oh hell ....... what will I do with the koala hotwater bottle I am knitting you right now??
Oh I know ..... send it to SJ but .... I will make a hole in it so it will leak 😍

I thought it was horrible and tacky, I hate that colour! And it looked like unsafe working condition especially in inappropriate clothing and shoes I don’t think holding someone by a belt loop is common safety practice anywhere
What would happen if someone did fall ??? Insured???

Oh..... hate that red in the turret too ! Don't go there with the pigeon pictures ! One had to have poo wiped off it !

I don't mind the red in the tower, better than her super busy and badly hung wallpapers, but the pigeon pictures are just cr@p. And the safety, well, it's all been said. Nightmare.
I hate the entrance hall, such a weird choice to cover what wallspace there is with such a huge print. If it wasn't broken up so much by all the doorways and so on it might look better, but just messy to my eyes. Just my opinion, I'm sure some love it.

Not stephending. There are people who are simply too busy to do their own domestic chores that they find the need to hire people to do things for them. I grew up in a home that employed domestic help. I had a full-time nanny until I was 11, in addition to three domestic staff and a cook. All four still work for my parents; for over 15 years now. They are treated with respect and receive proper remuneration and benefits. A family hiring domestic staff is no different from a local hotel employing housekeeping or kitchen staff. It is real employment for a lot of people. Also, domestic help is not a South African thing, nor should anyone ever make it a racial thing. Not these days. BTW my former nanny went to night classes at Hunter College and is now runs her own daycare/preschool center.

I don't know how much SJ pays Beatrice, the caretaker. We can only hope she gets paid well for her service and has benefits.
Yes, I agree. I grew up with domestic help and have also employed domestic help. My last live in housekeeper was with me for 10 years. She retired to pastures new having created a better life for herself. Something she would not have been able to do if she hadn’t been working. She just told me the other day she is buying a beach front property at the end of the year once she has saved up. I have now downscaled to regular part time helpers in the house and garden. I see it as my way of providing employment for people who would otherwise be unemployed.

Just to clarify, Steph grew up in the UK in the home for Alzheimers' patients that her parents ran. They probably had cleaners, etc but probably not not servants in the same way that Beatrice is. Beatrice works in IJ's Beach House in South Africa. When they are at Percy's house, near Durban, we can be pretty sure that they will have servants there too.
Staff working in UK care homes are not servants. They are on between £18,500 and £29,000 depending on experience and responsibility. (A top manager would get the higher wage.)The average is £20, 000 or £10.32 per hour. Its not well paid, but OK . The average wage in the UK is £26,000, but many people earn a lot less in hospitality and retail. £17,388 is the UK minimum wage for 40 hours per week. Less if you are under 25 or part time.
The system in SA and other African countries is very different. The servants are domestic servants and live on the premises, usually in one room or an outbuilding.
Stephanie grew up in nursing homes, the staff would have been employees, not servants, and would look after the residents, not the employers.

Am I the only one who thought that duck tower ghastly? It was like watching one of those awful hurried DIY room revamps and looked plain cheap. Stay away from that staple gun Stephanie!
Yep I'm with you 100%...absolutely hideous, I am yet to find something decorated by her that I do like.

Though trousers do look bad on her
She looks good in jeans, and saves the cameltoe for pp to flaunt

I thought it was like a birth canal "vagina stairs".

I was wondering why Teabag kept talking about Starlink as if he was the expert…just thought he was being patronizing again! My favorite part was when he said he could see the little satellites shooting across the sky in a straight line after launch. He can add “astronomical observer” to his vast, impressive resume. Hello, NASA? Do you need a rocket scientist who also has expertise in tea, Spode, oak, and escorts? 😄

correct..we also have staff, in the evening they all go home..exept when we have guests..then they leave at midnight...its just a nomal job..well paid for..nobody from our staff lives in the big house..they all have decent workinghours..and a nice house from their own..
exactly not doubting some cant cope without staff in big estates but then most DONT go ebegging and complaining to normal people how they brought a dream with daddys money and run around living the dream not working party and drinking and dinning in 5 star establishments every night do they. Most estate owners find there own damn income .

Here we go again…
Another see-through moment😳
POOR OLD gerald got choked up exactly at that moment , poor little irish born scott man thinks theres going to be the pot of gold at the end of that rainbow if he can just chase it long enough.

@Clara Burnett told us that this live-in cleaning lady lives in a tiny tiny room behind the kitchen.
I doubt that it is what we can called decent conditions and benefits.
