Looking at the nutter she's created, that certainly would have stood her in good stead ...
...and whilst she was lovingly moulding her daughter into the charming, fascinating specimen of taste, serenity, pure selflessness and grace she is today, she was also enabling her dear hubby to bunk off work and become a porn painter....

Not sure that IJ's personnalité and psyché would stand up to too much psychiatrising!

the way all those DIYers.....not only Dan... handle their electricity gives me the creeps sometimes...do they even get it checked?? when its not properly done... it surely can kill you...or put your house in flames...
I have said it before.. Dan sometimes scares the bejesus out of me! He is not one to follow safety measures and I find myself gasping at times while he's working! (Yes, i am very dramatic)
He does seem to be the type who follows the rules (i.e. his drone licensing), so I hope that he does the same when it comes to building code and safety.

I believe she was an SNO at Gartnavel, a psychiatric hospital in Glasgow. I imagine that's why they moved into dementia "care".

I watch and no play on the begging. I must admit that whilst I enjoy their vlogs, I wasn't keen on the constant mentioning of Patreon. Conversely I also itch to see how they convert those barns.
It's a moral dilemma.
I certainly enjoy their clean and minimalistic rooms and that they finish one project before starting another. But again don't approve of them featuring their kids. Absolutely a no go

One of the things I really like about Dan and Annalise is that they do seem to tell us as soon as they can what they're doing. They don't seem to play games like the LaLa folk.
And Dan has now explained what he was doing in London. It's all good!
Sj has quite a lot to hide it seems. The heating, her falling ill, the timeline...

The start of good Tattler on this thread is an encyclopedic knowledge about the Vlogs we're discussing.
The icing on the cake is if you divulge Why you called your Guinea pig Goldie.

The white saviourism makes this whole SA debacle so distasteful. And not a penny of donations come from SJs pocket, so she can’t claim any glory, but she sure looks like she is basking in philanthropy.

Our goldfish were called Cuddles and Fluffy.

It was the Hamster's name actually his name was Goldi III since the two we had before were called Goldi, which were Goldhamsters. We show less fantasy when naming our pets, the cats had the same name, too. And I am glad I didn't get another son because I gave the first child already the most beautiful name

I’ve been reading here for a while. I enjoy lost of the chateauvers Vlogs but sometimes roll my eyes at their antics, particularly those of Michael.
Watching the latest Patreon video: his obsession with detail, his obsession with his idea of perfection, and the way his family indulges him - I can’t help wondering if he is on the autistic spectrum,.

I don’t intend that unkindly, but for me it is an observation which explains abreast deal of his behaviour,

He has skills, he has an attractive personality,he has a family who loves and supports him. He is not what his mega fans make him out to be, but perhaps if we understand he is someone with challenges a lot makes sense.

I live in France but I am not anything to do with any of the chateau cloggers, nor do I have an agenda other than trying to understand what I am watching.

They're nice rooms and I wouldn't object to staying in one. They certainly wouldn't give me a headache like the Lalande ones.
I've also mentioned re children before. As parents I expect they're aware of the pitfalls and it has been debated on here a few times.

I love your analysis. Although I think the bragging thing depends a bit more on locality. It's pretty frowned upon in north eastern parts (east coast & French Canada... And probably the prairies too). I but same as we discussed about Europe. There are these universal trends, and local differences too.

I find these perceptions so interesting!

It certainly makes it easier if similar names. We had Hamsters as well. One I called Hannibal, I swear that thing loved the taste of blood more than its hamster food.

I actually like that sweater and it's one of the few shades of "yellow" I enjoy.... I basically live in skinny jeans and oversized sweaters in fall.

I'm very cold blooded...as my kids would be the first to tell you...LOL...but seriously, I'm cold all the time. I wear warm clothes even in summer...But, admittedly, here on the Oregon coast it very rarely gets hot...anyway, I look like death warmed over when I wear yellow even though I like the color. That sweater, and really, yellow in general, don't look that good on her. But, it's her favorite color so kudos to her for giving it a go....even though I have to turn my eyes away from the screen when she shows up with it on...LOL

I tried your technique but it doesn't work for me either. In fact I am watching the Dire Diaries at double speed now but will stop watching at all soon. I am now hooked on the live streams from the Volcano in La Palma. It has a much better personality that destroyer and it doesn't ask for Patreon money, it just spews lava all the time.
