I think the skincare is better than the make-up. I heard from a make-up artist friend that it’s actually created with/by a facialist who was unhappy about not being credited enough.
Like all of her line, it is ridiculously overpriced but I like the clay mask and beauty balm/4 in 1 thing.

I find the make-up hit or miss. I like the Dolce Vita (although I believe it has been renamed the Bella Sofia after her nieces) and original Pillow Talk eyeshadow palettes. Not impressed by the concealer or foundation.
I recommend you watch Dr Dray a licensed dermatologist on youtube or learn to read ingredients lists and you'll see how much she's ripping off her customers, it might have short term benefits like smelling nice or making your skin look glow-y but they're highly irritable and have really shit ingredients for such a high price point! she's just benefitting off the "Reputation" of her brand. Dermatologist's and aestheticians definitely do not recommend her skin care products

Unfortunately! Where is the Twitter Women for Women Brigade when you need them? The reviews on the glassdoor site are a good read as well.

It’s interesting that the beauty industry would need NDAs at all. Is it ostensibly to prevent copy-cat products?

I’m not familiar with this sort of thing. On first impression it sounds shady AF!

Have you guys seen the Sali Hughes Instagram today about foundation? Some of the comments have been a bit heated.

The things leaked so far sound monstrous and I really hope there is safety in numbers for the employees affected. It’s so cruel to bully people at the start of their career when they need to be fed and watered in order to blossom.

True to form
that’s just disgraceful. Small businesses have legitimate reason to be concerned but surely she can’t be on the breadline if she looks after her staff? This is selfish for many reasons. Her staff could become very unwell, place an extra burden on the NHS and possibly go on to infect dedicated medical staff who are not invincible and in turn could become incredibly unwell and possibly die. For what? Sales of shoddy overpriced eyeshadow? Madness.

The pandemic will change our priorities and people will shift perspective and be slightly disgusted by this sort of behaviour. Honestly I hope people boycott because she’s a nasty piece of work and ought not have the unsafe influence she has.

I feel the same way as you @TruffleTrifle.

It’s very disappointing as it’s embarrassing for women. It’s seen as a women’s industry and I expect there will be some eye rolls about how predictable it all is.

I feel a sea change in consumers coming and I’m so glad and hopeful.

Oh. I use the lipstick everyday and love it and the highlighter. Can’t say I’ve used anything else and the staff in the Westfield London store were lovely to me.

But can’t say I’m surprised by anything I hear about the beauty industry. It’s all photoshopped and blurred, lash extensions for mascara etc.

I treated myself to a CT lipstick - a nice nude shade because I had seen a You Tuber wearing it and it looked lovely. I'm not a makeup novice so know how to line and apply etc. but it looked horrific! It cracked within 15 minutes, transferred onto everything and left my lips dry and flaky!! Never touched it since and never understood how they justify the prices.

This makes sense, I brought some things and it’s utter rubbish, never again the girl was horrible, didn’t understand or get that I didn’t want at 42,, to trowl my make up on and cake it into my lines and wrinkles!! Luckily I know what I wanted and the look I like, I would have spend hundreds other wise, as soon as she realised I knew what I was talking about couldn’t get me out fast enough

A friend of mine went to work there and left shortly afterwards as she is all about pushing you to the limit to meet the targets, but if you don't reach them there is hell to pay.

Very late to the party but did any ever come out of this? CT seems to be going as strong as ever.

Never bought any of her products but can’t stand how all her YT videos use models with perfect glowing skin. Always made me think her products were best suited to those who are already blessed with good skin and lovely features. Don’t know if that’s changed recently but I’d pay good money to see CT use her products on someone with skin that wasn’t flawless.

I feel the same about CT lipsticks. I've been given a few as presents and they were awful. Uneven application, uneven fade, transfer and also left my lips very dry. I was so disappointed.

It is shocking that a company so rotten can be worth so much. A lot of people, including influencers and beauty writers/columnists, willing to look the other way for £££
Brands like this get bought because it’s venture capitalists who make the decision based off of valuations / industry growth / financial performance measures and nothing else. If they were doing well selling you shit in a tube they’d still get snapped up. I’d imagine literally no one in those M&A departments or meetings has once discussed products / sustainability / brand ethos beyond their top sellers listings 🤷🏻‍♀️

I have to be honest. I do rate her lipsticks. Perhaps I've been lucky. But I won't be shopping with ct anymore after these revelations
