Anyone else disappointed as to who the celeb turned out to be?! Wouldn’t even call him a celeb. Do remember being shocked though when he got married as always assumed he preferred men 🤣
Biggest anti-climax .. I’d never even heard of him 🤪

I had the pleasure of meeting Sir Bobby Robson twice - and what a total gentleman he was 👍🏻🙌🏻

Also met Emma Willis too, me and my friend were the first ones to spot her at a Matt Willis gig she was at supporting him in the crowd. We waved at her and she came over to us, we stood together for a good 15 minutes chatting and having a little giggle before people began noticing her and she left to do her celebrity duties.. she was so down to earth and even more gorgeous than she looks on TV if that’s possible at all!
Emma Willis is one of those people that you hope would be nice so I'm so glad that that's the case

Tbh, I don't see why celebs should stand and pose for selfies if they don't want to. In my day you had an autograph book and asked them to sign it but why would all these celebs want probably awful pics of themselves on their down time posted on the internet?

David Tennant seems a very private person that doesn't seek the limelight. I think it's more the Z listers that are happy to pose with their fans who are making them rich. David doesn't need fans to 'make him'. He's an actor, not a Z lister!

The Cliff Richard episode happened in Manchester I was at a travel promotion in a hotel in Manchester and Cliff happened to be staying in the hotel after a gig he did, basically I was bursting to go the toilet and the loos on our floor had big queues so 2 of us decided to try the toilets on another floor, so we waited for a lift and one turned up with all these people in , they took one look at the desperation in my face and said get in, im chatting away about how im dying for a wee and this man said I think there is a toilet on the conference floor I said to him you sound like Cliff Richard and he smiled and the lift got to the floor we needed and he piped up with happy Weeing I laughed and the girl who was with me said that was Cliff Richard you daft cow haha.

Easily the most famous person I've met would have to be Slipknot Singer Corey Taylor. It was absolutely pissing down outside the venue, easily about 300 people waiting, and he spent time and took photos with every single person who wanted a picture and signed whatever they had. He was super nice, super friendly and seemed overwhelmed that people wanted to meet him.

Never met him in person but I've spoken to Sir Trevor Mcdonald through work. An absolute gent with the most distinctive voice in the world. I knew exactly who he was before he even introduced himself. Sir Trev for the first elected head of state I say!
I nearly killed him a few years ago ... he ran across the road from Waitrose straight in front of my car 🚙.

A lot because of my job so I’ll just mention the nicest and rudest and funniest

Nicest - Keanu Reeves. Bought me a beer at a party and we bonded over a shared dislike of selfies.

Rudest - Tom Cruise. Filming in a building in Prague, he insisted nobody except him could use a certain elevator and as there was only one other elevator for the building crew were having to lug equipment up and down the stairs.

Funniest - Joanna Lumley. Chased one of the drivers up a road with the biggest dildo I’ve ever seen for a laugh 😂

Long time lurker , sick of. It being able to see links and get involved so finally decided to get stuck in ☺
So I’ve had lots of encounters. I used to work in nightlife, then ended up being a dancer. I might be using celebrity loosely but I have lots of encounters. I’m 39 so this was the pop hey day. Lots of stories nothing too exciting.
I’ve met people along the way who have been so rude. Shaznay from all saints didn’t want us in the vicinity. I’d always liked her. Lisa and Claire from steps were very offing. Ran into Lucy Benjamin (Lisa from eastenders) just same place same time and she gave me and my friend a not now guys look. We were literally just in the same place. I was at the same hotel as Geri Halliwell it’s raining men era, when she had her dog Harry. And I was drinking with my friends in the bar, it was the Hyatt Birmingham. And She made sure we were all cleared and had a massive entourage and made much more of a fuss than if She would’ve just checked in? We didn’t even notice her until that?
the nastiest celeb I ever encountered was at a big weekend. It was jamelia, and a little boy was so excited so the security let him get to her and he squealed omg are you jamelia I love you, and she said no that’s not me must be confusing me with someone else. And he went really?? And she just cackled and I thought what a cold hearted bitch, she said was not being pestered and that boy was like 5. But it was superstar era! Anyway I’ll leave it there for first post haha

I feel like we should have a pinned post saying “IT’S STEVE BACKSHALL” 🤣

I actually know one of his wife’s brothers so it’s a bit weird reading this!

A random Prince Charles one - a relative of mine met him at an event and they chatted briefly. Years late my relative was at another, completely different event and Prince Charles was there also. He was really pleasantly surprised that rather than having to do another tedious intro, Prince Charles straight away remembered his name, asked him how he was and what he had been doing since they last met, and they spoke for some time. I can't remmeber the names and faces of people a week apart so i think he definitely has skills!

Sasha Velour. Absolutely glorious. I showed her a picture of my son in make up for a dress up day at school and she looked genuinely moved and gave me a proper hug and said he was lucky to have a mum who let him expressed himself.

Davina McCall. Face like a slapped arse whenever I've seen her. Sat next to her and her (ex) husband in pub once. I spent the whole evening earwigging their conversation (was a great night for my husband). She spent most of it worrying how fat she looked (she is tiny, scrawny) and him trying to convince her she was fine.

A couple of years ago I was visiting my daughter who lives in New York. We were out shopping and it was pouring with rain so we decided to go to a nearby hotel restaurant for an early lunch.
As we approached the hotel a large man was hurrying out with his head down talking on his phone. He banged into my daughter and knocked her backwards onto a small potted bush that was by the entrance.

He immediately stuck his phone into his coat pocket and grabbed my daughter by the elbows and yanked her back to her feet. By this time I had already admonished him with “Christ, watch where you’re going” when I looked up into the face of Mr Hugh Jackman.
He was so apologetic and insisted on escorting us into the hotel lobby where he sat my daughter down on a chair.
He then asked if he could get his driver to drop us somewhere and we explained that we were actually just coming to this hotel for lunch.

After hearing this he walked away and spoke to the concierge, who had been hovering close by since we came in.
He then came back over to us apologised again and said “Have a nice lunch ladies” and strode out of the door.
He is even more gorgeous in real life and very tall and broad with a definite twinkle in the eye.
The concierge came to escort us to the dining room and explained that the bill for our lunch had already been settled by Mr Jackman.

What a legend and a true old school gentleman.
This is amazing - love Hugh Jackman so pleased to hear how lovely he is

I used to work in Richmond (UK) and that area is quite rich and lots of celebs lives there. I have heard that paparazzi is not allowed there, they can't get license to take photos In that area or something like that. Maybe that's a lie, not sure.
The restaurant where I worked was often visited by big celebrities and I have served Tom Hardy and his wife Sarah Ward ( Such a nice, humble human beings), Meryl Streep was there with her husband and friends - also very nice people, Fearne Cotton - overall nice but always left big mess with her little ones , waiters nightmare. :D
Many more - Ed Sheeran was there with Ellie Goulding, Idris Elba with his family, Jamie Oliver, Dougie Poynter from McFly, Emily Blunt and her husband John Krasinski - really liked those two.
Natalie Dormer was there with some filming crew , Amanda Holden and Chris Hemsworth with families. Lots of footballers , but I can't remember their names.
Overall everyone was very nice, polite , left good tips . What else can you wish for. :D
Ha ha that's funny re Fearne Cotten - I'd heard (on GG possibly) that at one restaurant she left a shitty nappy on the table. Wasn't your restaurant was it?

Rylan gets a lot of stick for his tragic X Factor history, and the fact he is orange with terrible fake teeth and dyed hair etc. But I do quite like Rylan, I think he is a genuinely nice guy, who appreciates how lucky he has got with TV work. And I do wish him continued success.
I like him too. Plus at least he's honest about his ginger hair and that he just covers it up...unlike a certain someone. :sneaky:

A friend of mine has a cousin who works as a concierge at a London hotel. When Kim k visited a few years back she tipped him big time for all his help. He said he would put the tip towards his donations for an up and coming charity run he was doing. Kim asked what it was for so he said a children's hospice and mentioned the name. Three days later 20 iPads were donated to the hospice 'with love from Kim and family' 😥
So much love for this! Love hearing stories like this, good on her ♥

Yeah I've heard most of the royals aren't so bothered about protocol.
Husband served with Prince Harry, when prince h was doing his training he was obviously a higher rank than my husband.
So my husband was on guard, H came through the gates, husband stood to attention and did the "sir" thing. He said Harry said "alright mate?" ?

Husband doesn't really care for the royals but says Harry is a good bloke, and was really down to earth.
I met Princess Anne at Buckingham Palace. I won an award and got to meet her. She was lovely.
