Oh god she's dreadful isn't she. Most of her actual content is pretty bang on in terms of how we conflate BMI and health but fuck me she could not deliver it with less charm or warmth.That fatdoctoruk she met up with today is possibly even more moany and deluded than Cathy, I followed her for a while but had to unfollow as I couldn't stand her. I think she wants to be considered a parenting / skincare influencer, but clearly lacks the skillset and attributes required to be successful in this arena (photography / styling skills, good skin, etc.) - and as such, she’s more than happy to use her dwarfism and experience of being disabled as USPs when it suits her. It’s somewhat hypocritical to use the platform for relentless virtue signalling / highlighting of ableism, then to subsequently complain when this is the basis on which your followers engage with you. Totally agree and also theres the other side where she will moan about people not helping her or speaking up for her or whatever when shes out etc? It's like one min she wants to be recognised as disabled, the next she really doesnt. She is so contradictory..She's furious now that scientists and researchers, who have no doubt worked years, have developed a treatment that could help those with achondroplasia. Sorry am I missing something here?
Someone's commented, of course agreeing, that it's blatant ableism and people with disabilities don't need 'fixing'. I'm SO confused. So, if a doctor offered you a treatment that could improve your quality of life or assist with a condition which affects you every day you're supposed to be incensed and reject it?
