Hirons replied 😂
“If I do not pay people for the quantity I’ve ordered, it could put brands out of business.”
Watch out love, your head won’t fit through the door in a minute. I highly doubt Zelens and Dermalogica would be out of business if CH didn’t pay them 😂
It’s not like she could just send the products back, is it? Oh noo. That doesn’t fit into the fantasy!
Planned and ordered months in advance. That hardly fits in with her saying on her lives that she had to leave it to the last minute to confirm what’s in the kits because she was still negotiating with brands. Which is it Hirons? Can’t have it both ways.

Sounds like a Tattler! 😁😂
Pot kettle black. Considering the way she talks to some people on social media she should pratice what she preaches. She can't complain about that comment all the while making comments in a similar tone towards other people.

I feel I should clarify what I meant there by posh junkies, as they sounds really horrendous reading it back. If you have ADHD, the stimulant medication will NOT make you feel buzzy/energised/like you're taking a stimulant. It will simply make you feel 'normal' - whatever normal is. If you don't have ADHD and are taking stimulant medication because you enjoy how it feels, that's what I meant. You could quite easily be taking street amphetamine and get the same result. These people just pay for it on prescription and so it makes them feel less like they're taking drugs, when essentially that's what they're doing. I don't know if I'm making sense. I don't know if CH truly does have ADHD. The way she gesticulates, quite possibly, but I still think it's a bit suspect.

Has anyone seen The Social Dilemma on Netflix? A fantastic watch but I also wish someone would make one about influencer culture- people getting into debt buying products shilled by influencers who get sent them for free, the whole "I'm just a normal person like you and I'm your mate" fallacy, normalising owning 60 lipsticks and calling it empowerment...

I’m in my late 40s and recently had a clearout of beauty products that had accumulated over the years (gifts, advent calendars etc) all unused as no idea what to do with them.
I hadn’t heard of Caroline Hiron until a few weeks ago, thought I’d start to educate myself and bought the book. I’m just in the process of changing my routine but still using my current products (Elemis and body shop).
Yesterday I was looking at buying some new products - OMG the shear amount of products out there and the expense 😯 💷
So after a few hours of looking into acids I bought some of the The Ordinary Serum because it was the lowest strength I could find and only £4.20.

This morning I had a realisation that I might be being led astray so before buying anything else thought I’d search on here for ‘Caroline Hiron’ and my heart sank a little as there’s a few threads - so I’m off to read them all.
At least if I am being duped I’ve only wasted £4.20.

Sorry all! I had forgotten there was a rhyming issue and which forum Caroline was in. Will stress my skin out with retinol and vit c and HA and a vigorous double cleanse as punishment.

She needs to remember what she has already told people Autumn kits weren't going to happen now been planned for months....trying to push products that are for your autumnal skin how much does she thinks your skin changes over seasons plus it'll be out of date by next winter how wasteful.

She bigs herself up so much oh I phoned them and told them I want all your stock of this sod of I could still purchase summer kit products elsewhere.

She has created quite a scary community people putting themselves in debt not telling their other halfs what they have spent.

I have her book and none of the information is new none is ground breaking she got a lucky break but she needs to fade out she's truly toxic

I feel so sorry for them too. We've all been there, having to pay the price for a company cutting corners.

Given the frankly obscene prices Sunday Riley charges, they should be able to afford proper cover. If they can't, why the hell are they expanding their business?

Caroline should be embarrassed for making excuses. But you can't feel embarrassment if you have no shame

Same!

People often post photos of items they have found online that they think ‘Queen Caroline’ will love. Mainly camo items of clothing...camo moccasins, camo jackets, camo camo fucking camo.
It’s like cats bringing their humans dead birds.

There's someone on her Facebook page who's also on another page I follow for students at Uni ( and parents)
one of the poor sods frequently mentions that she overspends on skin care /make up ( and has just bought one of the kits for £300) and has to work 3 jobs whilst at Uni to afford her rent ....something far wrong here! when I was a student spending a tenner in body shop was being frivolous!

My eyes have been opened on CH. I thought she was a skincare expert (lol) recommending products because she knew they worked. She’s nothing but a saleswoman & often works closely with the brands of the products she ‘swears by’. She should really discuss high street brands (stuff you find in Boots/Superdrug/Supermarkets) because that’s what most people can afford! I was so close to buying the Dr Dennis Gross peel pads (£89 for 30 😵) but I gave my head a good wobble! There’s absolutely nothing wrong with brands like Simple, The Ordinary, Superdrug Vitamin E range is fantastic for dry skin. Personally speaking, I have a few ‘high end’ products but the rest can be bought in Boots/Superdrug. It makes me sad and angry in equal parts to think she’s making people spend their money on skincare in times like this.

Oh Christ she’s off!!
And the woman who questioned the price/timing of the kits wasn't being an 'arsehole' to her
She just said it seemed hypocritical and against things she said before. Why does that woman take valid, constructive criticism so badly?

Couldn't find my old account, but had to create a new one and vent, as this crass woman has gone too far. She was always dead set against masks, because clay costs pennies.... but now she is promoting very very expensive masks and clays?? and only brands that she is friendly with?? She is a sales lady, carrying on like she is Elton John when launching another skincare kit that nobody truly needs in its entirety. She shames people into buying all these overpriced products from her buddies. I get it, she's in the business of making money first and foremost, but why be such a colossal b u l l y when someone thinks differently to your own opinion? She is not a scientist.... she is an untrustworthy hypocrit, preying on people's insecurities about ageing.

I'd guess with the exception maybe of Ruth Crilly and a handful of others, they're playing the game and respect her no more than any of us.
What a monumental pain in the arse Ruth Crilly has turned out to be. Her content is so menial and poor, I’m not sure why she even bothers anymore. Literally daily pictures of her bloody cat, as if anyone cares.

Her incessant moaning about “working from home” is beyond laughable considering she only has two children who are both at school/pre-school and her “work” involves rubbing cream on her face and writing about it. That’s a holiday for most people. Not to mention the fact that she’s filthy rich because her husband is a photographer to “the stars” And has, bizarrely, never once shown his own face but is happy to have his two little children plastered all over Ruth’s social media since the day they were born.

Ruth would do anything for a quick buck which is why she’s parked up Caroline’s odious arse.

I personally don't think the steps shown are excessive. I usually cleanse my face and then use a mist to add a little hydration as my skin can feel dry especially in winter with central heating etc on. I then use eye cream a serum and moisturiser and if I am going out an SPF. The only thing I wouldn't use in CHs routine was the tan drops but then I wear a full face of make up when on days I go into the office.

I would imagine your routine might not contain a mist and an eye cream? I agree a mist is optional and people disagree on eye cream (I love eve cream haha).
The point of Jessica Defino's post was that most of the products are excessive because, by CH's own admission, they are being used to solve a problem (dryness and flakiness) caused by another product (retinol) that is being used for aesthetic reasons and not skin CARE. Her message is just that you don't need seven products in your morning routine to look after your skin and keep it healthy, which is true.

You personally may do six of her seven steps and not find this excessive (with the possible exceptions of mist and eye cream), which may work for you, but if we're simply talking about looking after your skin, often one or two products can be enough. You don't need serum, moisturiser AND SPF for example - depending on skin type, you could just use a moisturising SPF. Not many people need six/seven products for healthy skin.
