I'm into skincare and in a few skincare groups on facebook and recently joined hers to see what it was all about. I have to say it seems like one of the worse skincare groups I've joined. It looks like its full of people who don't even know the basics of skincare who apply hundreds of products and then wonder why they have so many issues with their skin. I understand its a large group but it seems very disorganised compared to other large skincare groups I'm in. In many of the other groups I'm in the idea less is more and that you don't need to use loads of products is promoted but in her group it seems like the idea more is more and using one hundred and one different products on your skin is promoted.
Completely agree with this. There was a post in the CH group the other day sharing Alanis Morissette’s 18-step nighttime skincare routine. Yes, EIGHTEEN steps. They were all over it, absolutely glorifying it.
It feels like CH promotes a celebrity skincare routine with equally priced products. For example, the De Mamiel craze that seems to be happening in the group right now. Who can reasonably and sustainability afford a £90 30ml serum every month/every other month? The £75 Chantecaille healing mask is also another big buzz in the group right now because both that and the De Mamiel were in her kit. She pushes it saying, “You really don’t need that much.” I don’t need much of my £12.99 serum either. It’s a celebrity/rich person’s skincare world. Yes, Alanis Morissette can afford an 18-step routine because she’s fucking Alanis Morissette! You’ve got Average Joes in CH’s group getting themselves into debt for a celebrity skincare routine that is frankly unnecessary.

Here you go,

Basically.

The book has sold 100k so far. Pink signed editions come out end of October. The pink looks so much better than the neon imo.

Her mother has been in hospital for 2 weeks and has had major surgery. She would've stayed in longer but someone on their ward caught covid. She's had 1 test so far and it's negative but still needs another one after her two week isolation. Because of her mother being in insolation, she hasn't seen her as she can't risk giving anything to the baby. It has been very stressful for her because she feels trapped in the middle trying to keep both the baby and her mother safe. (I do hope her mom feels better, she seems like an alright lady.)

They have raised 405k for beauty back so far. She told people to apply to the hair and beauty charity if they are in the beauty industry and are suffering/behind on their bills. You'll probably get something if you apply.

"But knowing you lot, we could make more money." So she's doing a raffle to get it atleast 500k. £10 pound a ticket or 3 for £20. The prizes are 25 bags worth atleast 200. 3 suitcases full of products that are worth over 1k and the big suitcase will have the liberty advent calender in. I'm assuming that's probably expensive. She said she's gonna fill it all of it up with goodies and will be generous. It's worldwide. The brands used are not making money from this nor is she. It's all going straight to the charity from the site you buy them from. The beauty prizes do seem awesome tbh. If you win multiple times, you can only claim one prize. She is the one paying for postage out of her own pocket and is allowing it worldwide.

"I'm going to use it to clean out the office in the best way." Hopefully they check the products are okay before sending. I'm in two minds about this, but atleast they won't rot in the office and go into landfill never being used. She does only have one face afterall.

"I want your money. I'm going full bob geldof(sp) Give me the cash!"

"No time for drama, I'm a grandmother"

She is celebrating 10 years of the blog in October. There will be lives 4 days a week. 1st day is cleansers and top 10. Another one is routines, then vs now. Another one is top 10 acids. Another one is all about treatments. She'll continue with different themes throughout the month. She'll also be hosting giveaways to celebrate too.

She then said she will be announcing the autumn kits at the end of October. It will be about £300 because it's bigger than the other kits because originally they didn't plan the summer kit so wanted to make autumn special. There will be clear pay I think. The kit is worth £700. There are 3 independent brands that you've never seen in the kits before. There will also be exclusive packaging on some of the items. There will also be one product that the brand is launching through the kit first. So it's an exlusive. It's a huge national brand apparently.

She's on this morning on friday about autumn skins.

There have been a lot of applications for the job role she is looking for. Apparently some people tailored their cv to quote duran Duran and some even used quotes from her book in their application. There have been some crappy ones and some amazing ones.

Someone asked if she could create a kit that would be kinder for international viewers so they won't have to pay fees like they have before. She told them coldly and bluntly "How can I do that? I'd still have to ship them from here." Which is true, but man, I bet that person felt awful after her response. I felt the same when she misunderstood me and came back with a cold reply.

I think that's it.
Thank you for going above and beyond!

I must be a mean old trout because my thoughts were

- what kind of a person forgoes seeing their elderly mother after major surgery for the sake of seeing a tiny baby who can't speak and probably isn't aware enough to miss her temporarily
- this raffle is encouraging gambling among her freaks some of whom have demonstrated that they don't make wise decisions when whipped up by her
- there's so much random stuff in the main prizes, too much for one person (yes perhaps people would share with friends) way to trash your skin by "product hopping" as Dr Sam calls it.

She definitely used to be much more pleasant because I wouldn’t have watched her at all in the first place. It’s as though she’s had a personality transplant. The difference is unbelievable really. Pure speculation on my part, but I reckon it went to her head and she’s just got too up her own arse, simple as that. So many people blowing smoke up your backside, telling you how wonderful you are must start to have an impact sooner or later. Then you can’t take it when even the slightest bit of well meant constructive criticism comes your way. Positive vibes only 😬

People trying to get on the website:

“I’m having a panic attack!” Wow. Yes, of course you are. Lets not use that phrase when we’re actually not, okay, since some of us really do have real debilitating panic attacks that stop us functioning.
“I can’t breathe!” Well, clearly you can.
“I feel sick!” Then maybe you should GROW UP.

Really irked me this has this morning 😂

CH is now having the OPPOSITE effect on me because I want to streamline my skincare 😂 I bought into the acid toners, the peel pads, the serums and while they do work and I do like them for my skin, you can only use so much at a time! Have that Freaks! 😂

It amazes me how Caroline conducts herself on Twitter. Telling someone to "fuck off". It beggars belief, in the real world people would get fired for talking to others like that in a professional capacity.

What I can’t understand is why she’s put Dermalogica vitamin C serum in there at £125 (😳) when she’s been banging on about how good the Summer Fridays one at £57 is. Actually, I do know, so she can justify asking crazy prices for the kits. But really, who’d spend over £100 on a bloody vit c serum?!

As someone above said, how much profit has she made when she can afford to give £40k to charity. Just goes to show the crazy mark up on skincare.

She’s spent $23,000 on skincare in a year. I don’t find that funny to be honest. Some people have mentioned therapy for shopping addiction. Some have said treat yourself to the autumn kit. Horrified.
She needs to be removed from the group for her own good. Accepting her money is like serving an alcoholic.
