It was before all that. My take on it (based on putting two and two together, not actual facts) is that in the early days of SR being in the UK, they didn’t show our Caroline the deference she thought she was due, and concentrated their efforts on wooing people like Sali Hughes instead. (At the time, Sali wasn’t an influencer, she was a journalist).

Reading between the lines, SR shunned a whole load of locally-famous influencers in the UK, and I suspect our Caroline attempted to “call in” a few products around that time, and was gutted to learn that they had never heard of her.

I want to know what happened with Sunday Riley. She went from the hard sell for months to suddenly trashing the brand.

I also want to know what happened with Clinique. She went from trashing the brand for years to doing an advert for them!

This was around the time I stopped reading her blog. I'd had enough.

Do you mean drunk elephant? As far as I know she is still fairly keen on Sunday Riley. Their eye cream was in her spring kit which was only about two months ago.

No, the fallout came WAY before the fake review scandal, which she actually defended them for, saying it's "standard industry practice". To be fair it is, but still. I think she mentioned the initial fallout at some point during her blogging days but I don't remember where, but pretty sure it was over money.

She’s so used to getting freebies she wants everyone else to pay for stuff but she’s not prepared to put her hand in her pocket herself. All this balls about companies not providing hair and makeup putting MUAs and hair people out of business is complete rubbish, it’s just that Queen Caroline doesn’t want to have to use her own money to provide her own.

Yeah it was about four years ago, she was constantly raving about SR before then, someone asked about them and she said "I won't give them the oxygen" but she didn't elaborate when people asked what happened.

Fast forward a few years and SR are back in the picture. When challenged on the fake reviews, her response was "everyone does it. The stories I could tell"

Agree, she could definitely do an exposé of some of the things she’s experienced. But like you say, no more freebies!

That’s it! I won’t give them oxygen I couldn’t remember her exact words from the time but I knew she was scathing about them but then wouldn’t elaborate when asked what had gone on. Obviously the money train reached the station again though, as she’s climbed on board again!

That's why I think @rosemarina is bang on the money that it was something that personally slighted Queen Oaf

Spot on. If SR had done something morally or ethically wrong, then surely she would have wanted to let her followers know. Which makes me think it was a falling out over payment to her. Yep, great reason to flex your muscles and stop promoting products that last week you were raving about.

The volte face over Sunday Riley was so sudden too. I remember plenty of speculation at the time that she'd gotten her knickers in a twist because they'd chosen to sponsor more popular (and younger!) influencers instead of Caroline.

Caroline is constantly complaining when any brand dares sponsor someone younger than her I understand the whole anti-aging point but she has to remember the brand wants to make as much money as possible so their advertising needs to be diverse.

Exactly, she seems to forget that young people are consumers too. It's in line with the whole "real woman" mindset, like yes of course she is going to be more in tune with her own age range, but I'd love to have seen her reaction if someone ranted at young Caroline the way she does now.

Totally agree, she does. But as usual, it’s all about the delivery!

I’m just getting caught up on insta - wtf I thought her hair had just been done for her birthday? On that Fenty skin thing it looks absolutely atrocious. I mean, honestly, she couldn’t even be arsed to run a brush through it? Also she must have put a filter on the birthday photo when she first had it re-done as colour looked softer. Back to piss yellow (love that phrase!) reality!

Also, is that not an advert? Not labelled as anything as far as I can see - please tell me if I’m wrong. She was clearly sent all the stuff for free by the brand, then spends a whole insta tv ‘reviewing’ ie pretty much raving and instructing folks to buy the stuff. What is this classed as under ASA rules?
