"I know most of the British derms" Um Caroline, you mean you know the YouTube/ Instagram derms. As shocking as it might be to you, many exist outside your influencer bubble

I'm pretty sure she doesn't know my dermatologist...he's very well renowned 60yr old Prof who wouldn't know or care about Caroline if she sprouted wings and landed on his head!

I saw this exchange on a recent nadine baggot video; interested to know if this is true!

also, hasn’t Caroline endorsed products from brands she actively works with and also has worked with in the past? Happy to be corrected but I don’t remember seeing her segments marked with ad or anything similar?
I’m almost certain she’s recommended Pixi when she’s been on TM before, and she’s had an ongoing relationship with them for donkeys years. I think it’s really snakey to go on telly and push brands and products that they’re in paid partnerships with. It should be declared as it’s an advert, same as any other.

Caroline is the Queen of ‘Do as I say, not as I do’.
Hypocritical , greedy, a know it all attitude and yet can’t take any criticism on the chin.

Sounds a lot like the derm I've been to- I don't live in the UK but he's very renowned in his field and he has no truck with influencers and their over elaborate routines. Caroline also forgets that derms are not just cosmetic, many deal with skin issues that are life threatening. The most famous UK YouTube "derm" isn't even a derm FFS (Dr Sam)

She was promoting her book last time she was on with Phil & Holly
I think they mentioned it which is perhaps ‘ok’? A few days before she went on, she had said if she positioned the book behind her whilst she spoke she would be fined etc.

Either way I agree with you, and I don’t see how her only demoing products she has had/does have working relationships with is any different from her promoting her own book. Oskia, Jordan Samuel, Medik8, Allies... etc.

If that YouTube commenter is right, Caroline has done the exact same thing as Nadine!

Re the whole product placement thing on This Morning, if that is indeed true, then Caroline should be getting a lifetime strike like her pal Nadine. I posted back in March on one of the earlier threads here after she'd been on This Morning talking about a product that I'm sure she'd just been advertising and there's absolutely no disclosure to This Morning viewers that she's in a commercial relationship with that brand. I wonder whether that's part of her "pitch" to potential clients, pay me to promote your product on my blog and Instagram and I'll also shoehorn it into This Morning as well. Pretty sure she would have her a handed to her by the ASA as well for that.

Also re getting the Fenty skincare, she's got a cheek considering she shut down any non skincare discussion in the Facebook group. No makeup discussion, skincare only. Well you don't need to go begging for PR samples from the makeup brands then do you Caroline because even your Insta bio reminds us "It's all about the skin".

She is a very aggressive person. It is her way or the highway.

I actually read this woman’s post as positive and uplifting, encouraging everyone to love the skin they are in. Some might see it as gloating at worst, but definitely not a snide comment towards Caroline or anyone else.

Caroline probably needs anger management therapy at this point!
Hi everyone this is my first post!!
I'm a member of the group, looks as if this lady has deleted her post. How sad she felt she had to. Going all mean girls on someone is just rude, obnoxious and immature. It's the behaviour you'd expect from an over excited kid who's showing off in front of the grown ups.

He diagnosed my life threatening autoimmune disease....I'm pretty sure Caroline couldn't do that...although she seems to think she's an expert regarding melanoma despite no medical school training

You raise a valid point there, Caroline is seen by some of her followers as being far more qualified than she is ( she’s a saleswoman and facialist) and Caroline truly believes she’s as knowledgable as Dr’s and Dermatologists .

That's the scary thing with Caroline and her skincare freaks army- "it's on my face because Caroline says so, she's our Queen" etc. If Caroline positioned herself as just someone who really likes skincare that's one thing, but it's the fact that she sees herself as equal to or better than medical professionals that gets me. Medical professionals that save lives, who aren't recommending super expensive creams

I'm still irritated by her comment about knowing most of the derms in the UK. Her arrogance is just astounding

New member 🙋‍♀️. When I first saw Caroline on YouTube, she was filming in her bathroom, face usually greased up and talking about having to do the big shop. All I could think was no way would I take skincare advice from her.
I guess her management team realized she needed help because soon she had an office and was acting a tad more “ professional“ and got her book/tv gigs.
But for someone who considers herself an expert, I’d expect flawless skin and she doesn’t.

This is what really baffles me. I don't expect perfection, but look at Caroline vs, say, Lisa Eldridge. Who would you be more likely to emulate? And who would you think is a skincare "expert"?

I have no idea how she grew in popularity. Kindofstephen, Lab Muffin, there are so many others out there that actually talk about ingredients, formulations, why they matter. Hell, I'm in a FB group for The Ordinary and the folks there know more about this than she. Caroline just spouts whatever angry tit she's paid to at this point. The no-nonsense thing may have worked at the start but it's gotten tired and she's gotten angrier.

Agreed. I don’t expect her to have flawless skin, that’s unfair and not necessarily achievable. She’s so far removed from the down to earth blogger she used to be, who gave good general skincare advice, went on fun trips, to concerts, was relatable and measured in her approach.

She’s now sold out, filled her face with Botox and fillers which isn’t an issue but she covered it up for ages, loves the sound of her own voice, pushes whoever pays her, is a hypocrite and is rude to the very followers who made her a success in the first place. I used to like her, but now she can duck right off as far as I’m concerned. She’s just as bad as every other shady influencer out there.

I think the aggression is because really anyone with a bit of nouse can be clued up on skincare these days. The information is on the internet for free. Her skill isn’t special, she isn’t clever enough to be a derm (not a dig, most people aren’t!) and she’s being overtaken by real beauty nerds. Her ‘straight talking‘ persona worked for a while but it’s crossed the line into downright rude and, on occasion, cruel.
