I'd be really keen to know if anyone here has had great success with vitamin c? I've only used the one from The Ordinary and it stings/itches my face like a witch, but I did have a nice glow the next day so would love some non painful recommendations 🥰
I’ve used up several bottles of La Roche Posay vitamin C serum, I really like it. It evens out my skintone and doesn’t sting me personally. I’ve also tried the Superfacialist and Inkey List ones, wasn’t impressed with those. I currently don’t have the La Roche one because it seems to be out of stock where I live, I really miss it.

@50sGirl love the summary, chuckled repeatedly, thanks @TriviaNewtonJohn for the suggestion. I guess this thread name might be great from the SEO perspective, so again, thanks for effort, hopefully more people will be able to find this (not a good year, Gangsta Ali C, is it?).

FYI, Creighton’s fb post has now closed comments, but here are my top:

1) guess who gave that lonely ❤ reaction to that comment? Yes, the kween 🤢

2) some interesting discussion - trying to get screenshots and names, poor souls.

3) and last but not least, I hope Jordan Samuel and CH “mates” read this:

Thank you! There's a 3 for 2 offer in Boots so will give that one a go I think.

I got the Medik8 vit C using a CH discount code a while ago, it smells nice & doesn't irritate my skin but I kind of forgot about using it so it's just been sat in my cabinet 🤭 I should really use it again just to finish it

Sali & Dr Natalia have gotten into a disagreement on that post 🤭

I remember Caroine justifying Sunday Riley employees' fake reviews on their own products by saying "everyone does it" Of course brand reps are in that group snooping, that's the point of the freaks. She's a brand rep herself ffs.

Snippy Sali at her snippiest snippiness. Deliberately baited to reply thanks to her arse licking morons.

Meanwhile The Boss is sitting on her hands trying to resist...

The ordinary was dreadful for me, I really like the Revolution range of Vitamin Cs and they are good value for money, i've just started a bottle of Medik8 c tetra as I love there Retinal and the Vit C seems good too. Sunday Riley CEO did nothing for me but Summer Fridays was good and has lasted me 5 months!

Does that one feel watery or oily when you apply it?

I like the La Roche Posay one too. The other one I've used and liked is the Dear Klairs ones.

I've got a couple more (Paula's Choice and Medik8) from sets or gifts to try so will see how they are.

It's not oily but would say it's a thick liquid rather than watery if that makes sense at all 🤣

It has salicylic acid in it if that's helpful. Not massive amount or anything but in some reviews people don't like that

It feels like a lovely, smooth hyaluronic acid serum to me, so I guess more watery. Sinks in nicely. Somebody else told me they find it sticky, it doesn’t feel sticky to me. I guess that depends on your skin.

I’ve missed this one - what’s happened?
Dr Natalia made an insta post saying vit C serums are useless, there were people tagging Sali & CH in the comments. CH hasn’t taken the bait but S has & was arguing with Dr N lol

I use Vitamin C serums. My favourite is Medik8 C-Tetra or when money is tight, Garden of Wisdom Vitamin C 23% + Ferulic. I think they do make a difference to the brightness of my skin. I'm not sure I fancy going to the higher percentage like Trinny's 30% and it's also a bit too expensive for me, particularly with all the other price rises we're all having to cope with.

Vit C is one popular active I decided to skip, for various reason: I am not a skincare professional, but I've learned that vit c is highly unstable, it goes bad quickly and easily, it is hard to formulate into an elegant product because it does not mix well with water and on top of that it can often irritate the skin and cause pain like you said, and rashes etc. There are other ingredients that can deliver similar brightening/spot lightening results, so it just seems like a lot of pain and not enough gain in my personal opinion.

I recommend watching Lab Muffin Beauty Science and Dr. Dray for a breakdown of the science!

Secondly, why does Caroline hate Creighton's? I've used some of their body products and they're pretty standard for the drugstore..

I'm not sure if she's ever mentioned them before now but one of their product posts/ads on Facebook said 'recommend by Caroline Hirons skincare freaks' (or similar)
Her reaction was as expected - see the end of the last thread for screenshots.

The whole ‘heat increases your melasma, it’s not sun’ is utter rubbish. I’ve asked several dermatologists (on insta lives 🔺)who’ve been perplexed by my question, it comes back if you don’t use SPF properly. She’s either not applying enough, not reapplying enough, sitting in the sun or all of the above
She claimed to have used Factor 50+ while in Ibiza. They had two days of sun, one day of rain. I don't believe that she was properly applying high UVA/UVB protection sunscreen properly if at all. That amount of pigmentation surely couldn't happen if she did - just compare with the IG live from before she went to Ibiza. She says she only has to 'look at sunshine' for a minute for this to happen - yet it's the worst I've seen her skin and despite her protestations, she has definitely been in the sun many times in the last couple of years. Why lie?🙄

They used her name in an ad without permission.
Gangsta called them pisstaking wankers and said her lawyers are on it! Is she aware they are part of the Emma Hardie group?

Funny that she’s never called out Trinny for allegedly using “her” yellow! Me thinks it’s because Gobsta knows Trinny has the money to fend her off.

Someone earlier said that this thread title is good because if anyone searches Creightons and Hirons this thread will come up. It does, we got the top spot! 😆

So skin and me have totally copied their latest launch from black owned skincare business baseplus, its all over Twitter, to the point where they get their investors to keep checking baseplus decks. This is so unethical and of course Hirons wont come to the defense of a black woman against her pay checks
