Is she not? I wondered about that as she is really unprofessional if she is an practising Clinical Psychologist. Unless she is on the register This Morning should be call her a resident psychologist. I noticed she spurning on Stephanie Davies at one point and couldn’t make sense of that if she was a practising Psychologist
She has a MA counselling, and is registered with BACP, but I've met many trained counsellors who are quite dangerous unfortunately, .
During my time studying and training I've met many other trainees who are judgemental, no compassion and don't welcome diversity, and they've themselves have had so much therapy, they themselves thought they'd be good counsellors etc, but they do it to feel better about themselves, it's a very middle class environment, which is why I probably have issues 😂
I'm too emotionally honest and that scares fellow trainees 😉
Sorry to derail the thread x

I think it's strange about kerry Katona. Her ex, George was abusive to her, allegedly, and he had serious mental health issues, mixed with drugs and he too took his own life. Yet he was a villain, where Caroline flack was in more or less the same situation as him and she received sympathy from kerry Katona.
Gender biased for sure.

Edit to add.. Just read she is now retraining as a life coach and counsellor. As someone who is a trainee counsellor and psychotherapist, I find this slightly concerning as she is the opposite of self aware and doubt she has the emotional coping skills required to go through this kind of study.
I saw the pic of the diploma she was talking about doing and I think it's a dodgy online course, prob 6 weeks of it, and not 4 years of doing a masters and then studying further to specialise..
Emma Kenney vibes.. Ie going on TV and being a phone in counsellor.. I shudder 😂
I am a health professional in the same field as you and have worked my arse off for years. KK smacks of someone that has a personality disorder and thinks they can give back because they’ve had a tit life. Let’s face it nobody would take her seriously in the arena.

There's a great deal of artistic licence in showbizz unfortunately. Emma Kenny isn't a Clinical Psychologist, for sure, but the majority of the general public wouldn't question it in an "they all look the same to me" kind of way.

It's the same as "The Genius" Graham from the now deceased Jeremy Kyle show. He claimed to be a Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist, when in reality he attended one week of the first module of a course in CBT at the Judith Beck Institute, never completing the course. He's a shyster.

We have a back channel for media requests in the BABCP/BPS, and I was asked if I would be interested in being the Psychology support for the JK Show (I've actually been to 3 screen tests at the BBC for this kind to shite :D ). I sent a message back to the researcher saying "I value my reputation too much, so no thank you".

I thought it was well known Kerry has bipolar disorder. I think she was on This Morning once and slurred her words due to a medication change.
Both bipolar and personality disorders can have an awful effect on the sufferer and their family.
She could use her platform to share her experiences to make them feel less alone.
Doesn’t make her an expert though as she only has her experience. Hope she trains properly (can take years!) and not some dodgy six week course....!

Does Kerry genuinely have Bipolar or was that just a cover-up for her escalating drug use at the time? It was never clarified and recently she has claimed to no longer require medication. As far as I am aware, someone with a disorder like BPD requires medication for life, rather like a diabetic or someone with an underactive thyroid.

You wouldn't be able to diagnose or identify Bipolar Disorder from just seeing someone on TV behaving erratically.

Im sure it was out with her Bipolar long before the TM debacle.

People with BPD can settle down to the point they don’t even meet the requirements for a diagnosis any more.
I have BPD. I’ve been in intense therapy for 3 years, it barely impacts my day now. It’s a treatable and manageable and not everyone who has it it is the unstable, manipulative, hot mess the media depicts.

I'm pretty sure the woman herself claimed to have the condition. I don't think anyone is trying to make an armchair diagnosis here.

For sure. I would add that Bipolar Disorder is massively over diagnosed imo, and there are lots of examples of Bipolar Disorder being diagnosed when in fact the person concerned has EUPD, with the symptoms mimicking Bipolar Disorder to a degree.

Completely agree. She strikes me more EUPD than Bipolar

I honestly think a lot of people in the public eye have EUPD, including our lovely Caroline. Emotions can range from extreme happiness, euphoria and self-belief, to crushing feelings of sadness and worthlessness all in the same day. It's not uncommon for people with EUPD to also experience suicidal thoughts and engage in self-harming behaviours. Other symptoms include anger and paranoia.

I am intrigued about what will all come out at the inquest abut Caroline. Andrew really called people around her out for doing nothing and that’s probably why people want him silenced. She was clearly so unwell and despite many call outs to ambulance crews and police it seems it wasn’t tackled head on. Perhaps she was embarrassed or ashamed? I don’t know. At least Kerry has had proper help with her mental health. I think a lot was hidden by Caroline’s team around her to her detriment and that’s exactly what Andrew meant.

I think there's a lot of all sorts in celebrity; histrionic personalities, narcissistic personalities, and people who struggle with identity, abandonment and rejection. The business gives people something they need, and the more you need it, the more you'll fight to get it. It's a cut throat world, and sometimes it's kill or be killed, but adoration, admiration, worship, popularity, etc... is like a drug for some, and others a life-force.

It's worth pointing out however, that just because someone might have personality traits like this, it doesn't necessarily determine whether or not they're a twit. being a twit and having a personality disorder can be independent of each other.

I.e. You're always happiest in the job that suits your personality the most.

That ‘poem’ was bleeping cringe. I used to enjoy Emma Kenny on tacky real crime programmes. I kind of think people view Caroline flack’s behaviour differently because she was beautiful. I had respect for some of her friends for looking after her til the way they’ve used it for attention on themselves I don’t think I could even speak yet were it my mate. Even whitmore’s insta is just ads now. These are my random thoughts on the matter

it’s the same thing. They’re changing the name to try relay what the disorder is better.
I have never heard of EUPD before. Is it the same as a Borderline Personality Disorder?
They’re moving from Borderline to Emotionally Unstable. Borderline Personality Disorder is wildly over used as a diagnosis for people with difficulties that don’t fit in to a specific box. One of the reasons Personality Disorders are given such a bad rep.

Totally agree about the over diagnosis. I went to a group therapy and there were so many people where I questioned their diagnosis. My consultant said it was lazy diagnosing. Can’t pinpoint and don’t have the time, EUPD.

So many of the people around her are now just posting selfies and ads and the usual bullshit. It’s awful and just makes you realise the type of people involved in showbiz. Like Caroline was a commodity to make money from/get publicity from and now she’s gone it’s time to move on to the next one 😞 (with the exception of some that seem genuinely good friends)
