we lost my husband's 103 year old granny to covid, we could not even attend her funeral due to restrictions and had to watch online due to the fact we lived too far away to travel under restrictions. She was in a nursing home and even close by family were not allowed in because she was shielded, even before CT was walking around his garden she was not allowed visitors!! She caught covid off a staff member in her care home and had been shut in her room with no visits for 10 months before she caught covid and died. We feel your pain, we put up with the rules because it was the right thing to do. You were also not able to visit your grandfather due to rules (and helping the NHS, doing the right thing etc). It's not right that the Ingram-moores could swan in and out at will, when every one else in the country, with dying relatives (covid or other causes) never got to say goodbye. My friend was a nurse at the hospital and said it was a circus...family swanning in and out when they wanted etc
Also on one ward across from CT, was my dying Grandfather. Also a war veteran. Were we allowed to visit? Were we bollox. I complained, got some generic BS back about how they'd had soooo much thanks for "looking after captain tom" but could "understand my upset". I had to just delete it before I said some things I regret.
I am so sorry for your loss - it is bad enough in normal circumstances - but when you cant visit it's beyond shit!!!
good question. How does she sleep at night?
