There’s no such thing as reverse racism...but I agree she’s often rude and assumptive about ‘white women’ and clumps the whole group together like everyone is the same. I used to really enjoy her writing about diversity and learnt a lot but I find it all too self-serving now

She also clumps together all black women too which I got sick of. Obviously there are issues of race which may be applicable, but she used to generalise about 'black women do/think...'. There can be huge differences culture/tradition wise between women of north and South Sudan for example, so I assume Black women of Barbados have a different culture to those in Nigeria (she said herself her in laws had issues with her being Bajan) I got the impression that she felt all Black women around the world are like the women she knows in Brixton.

Hang on, that’s not true. I unfollowed Candice ages ago because she DOES come across as very aggressive. I unfollowed Caroline Hirons for exactly the same reason. Nothing to do with race, and I really resent that someone is exempt from being called out on their aggression just because they’re black.

totally agree! I have unfollowed loads of accounts of various different races because I’ve thought they were aggressive. Candice is aggressive, but I think that’s her personality, and has nothing to do with the fact that she’s black.

BreathlesslyMothering, a mother who featured on Make Motherhood Diverse, has been moved to palliative care and her friend is running a campaign to raise money for her children. Lots of the Instamums have been appealing for donations on their stories. Candice did so too and donated today. Such a sad situation.

Organised Motherhood was clear that her stories were aimed at white people not black people or ethnic minorities. She doesn’t need to explain what white privilege is to black people and she wasn’t trying to. Her intention was to educate and open a discussion about racism and the type of white people who say things like ‘I’m not racist, I have a black friend’.

In that respect, the content of what she was saying would not have much interest for Candice.

However, I think it’s incredibly short sighted to brush it off the way Candice did. That’s like me saying I’m not interested in hearing what a man has to say to sexist men about sexism towards women. We need men to be a part of getting rid of sexism. We wouldn’t achieve anything by hating men and being angry all the time.

Candice obviously has valid points to make but she is divisive and I think her prejudice will be her downfall.

She is nuts and so so angry at everyone white. The video was very powerful and definitely worth sharing -but how does she know this man's story ?
