@Greyson you put it more eloquently than me but I agree.
And organised motherhood did mention that she didn't feel the need to tag anyone in her stories (wink, wink mrs meldrum) because she didn't actually need anyone's validation, she was just trying to open a discussion and I applaud her for that.

I just thought, here is a white woman ‘doing the work’ that she says white people should do, she could have easily signposted her white followers to the stories. I KNOW it’s not the job of the oppressed to educate the oppressor etc, but that kind of response is almost counter productive. These small steps help create big change.

So she's only interested in people of colour then? Not interested in white people and their views?
But isn’t that racism as well?

Organised Motherhood was clear that her stories were aimed at white people not black people or ethnic minorities. She doesn’t need to explain what white privilege is to black people and she wasn’t trying to. Her intention was to educate and open a discussion about racism and the type of white people who say things like ‘I’m not racist, I have a black friend’.

In that respect, the content of what she was saying would not have much interest for Candice.

However, I think it’s incredibly short sighted to brush it off the way Candice did. That’s like me saying I’m not interested in hearing what a man has to say to sexist men about sexism towards women. We need men to be a part of getting rid of sexism. We wouldn’t achieve anything by hating men and being angry all the time.

Candice obviously has valid points to make but she is divisive and I think her prejudice will be her downfall.
Yes exactly! Surly having some one like OM starting a debate with her followers who are probably all of a different demographic to Candice’s followers is a positive thing. Surly that she should be applauded and supported. Not shot down🤷‍♀️

@Shaza78 yes, indeed! She should have directed all those white people that follow her to watch and discuss with organised motherhood. I understand and completely agree that it is not the job of the oppressed to teach us anything, which is why she should have supported Kelly and directed people to her account.

Racism is a social structure, a black person not wanting to listen to a white person speak about an experience that the black person has experienced isn’t racist.

FWIW I wouldn’t go listen to a mans perspective on sexism. I’m a woman, I’ve lived it and experienced it, I don’t need to stroke his ego or be told what my experience of it is.

I just think attitudes like that just cause greater divide.

We should all be willing to listen to everybody regardless of race or gender or religion or anything else.

All she’s doing is the exact same as what she’s claiming to be fighting against. ‘I’m not going to acknowledge or listen to anybody that doesn’t have this particular colour of skin’ ridiculous

Sorry I don’t agree. She has every right not to listen to white people talk about their privilege because as a person of colour she knows the damage white privilege has done. It is exactly like a man talking about male privilege and sexism - I don’t have to listen and I won’t, I don’t need to. This thread is ridiculous.

I don’t agree- she doesn’t owe anybody anything. Just because she’s a black woman who talks about race doesn’t mean she has to go and watch a white woman story about race. She is entitled to pick and choose what she watches and ironically I think it’s displaying white fragility to be put out by the way she says it.

Sorry just realised I cross posted with you!

I am referring to her stance in general not specially this white woman on Instagram.

Her general stance that she doesn’t want to engage/converse with white People on the topic of racism.

I don’t think that’s true- I think she doesn’t need to be schooled on racism by white women.

Excuse my french but she she can duck off with her it’s not the job of the oppressed to teach us anything. I am Muslim and prejudice against us rife right now. Of course it’s my job to teach non Muslims about my religion. Of course it’s my job to teach and educate any one who will listen about the plight of “my people” forgive me if this comparison is not correct or I’m completely out of context.

@Shaza78 I know what you mean but I am almost certain that she is referring to black people having to teach white people about all the oppression that white people have done to them. That is something that I cannot argue against and makes sense to me. It is not their responsibility.

Her attitude towards engaging with white people (particularly women) is what baffles me a bit but this is my personal opinion and what I gathered in the short period of time that I followed her. That is all.

Honestly, the woman is just a total and utter hole.

Her attitude towards the majority of people is deplorable and if she’s so set on being this big influencer and raking it in via socials and public speaking events she needs to learn to curb that nasty, aggressive streak in her. It’s the most god awful quality and there’s just no need to behave like that. If you’re pissed off at something yes, react... but perpetually being this horrible venomous caricature of a human is a joke. You catch more bees with honey than you do vinegar and all that. If she wants to keep living this champagne lifestyle she needs to learn some bloody manners.

Ok so she wants to spread her message and everyone to listen to her and her angry little head pop off every 5 minutes - oh sorry she’s just educating us fools.

But she won’t listen to anyone else’s truth/ opinions/ story.

She’s nothing but a pimped up money grabber making a dime under the racist catergory.

It’s funny I’ve never met anyone as angry or as racist as HER. Unfollowed her bull crap.

She needs to go back to her escorting.
Her heads getting to big round here.
