I assume her Insta acts as an advertisement for her substack, so having it suspended would result in a big reduction in new subscribers. Awful as it's her livelihood at the moment with the strike.

Yeah Sara Bareilles is so good in it actually and I probably relate to her character the most. Busy is a great actor and I honestly think although she’s great at comedy, she’s much more talented than I think she gives herself credit for. I could see her doing a dramatic role (let’s face it, she’s an extremely dramatic person IRL
). Girls5eva is a light hearted watch if you get the chance to watch it. God knows we all need a laugh!She cries constantly. I hate the pandering to Harry Styles. It’s a bit handmaiden-ish. Claiming she just wants to dress like him because he’s so cool. Busy. You’re 43 and have a pretty good dress sense and a style of your own. Quit the brown nosing, you are better than that

This might be way off, as she does have long standing friendships, but she seems quite a lonely person, or someone who is not good at being alone. So now her marriage has ended she has turned her teenager into her best friend. Matching dresses? Really? I love Mary Bensons stuff so yay to a double order (I hope she paid).
Ok so I persisted and listened to the rest of the pod. It looks like Birdie is still persuing the Swedish boarding school idea. Busy was going on about her own grief and crying hysterically whilst Caissie is sitting there having just lost her mother. Ffs Busy, for once please recognise it’s not all about you! And Caissie is so nice she starts consoling Busy 
Anyway the grief and heartbreak she alluded to makes it sound like she’s been dumped and a couple of things she said made me think it might have been another woman. Which is cool if she’s bi, but you know how dramatic Busy can be. She’ll wait a full year then it’ll be a big reveal of ‘I’m queer now’. No doubt Birdie will be raging

Completely agree with everything both of you have said but on this point I'm so wtf because Busy has said even Birdie doesn't care how people refer to her and even finds it funny that people do that in the comments.
The comments on Busy’s insta any time she posts a pic of Birdie of ‘I wish I was as cool as Birdie’ is just over the top and cringeworthy. You’re right, she is just a teenage girl, that’s it. They are just basing everything on her appearance too. Shallow and pathetic. No different or more special than any other 14 year old.
Yeah she’s all about Birdie and absolutely desperate for them to think she’s cool. I’m roughly the same age as Busy and also a mum and you just have to be ok with the fact that you are not cool to your kids and that’s ok. Stop trying so hard. In saying that, she does seem like a great mum who loves her kids. That’s why it’s even sadder that she’s told the world about Birdie.Oh I'm glad this thread is going again! Checked in here a few times but didn't wanna be the one to try and revive it
I’ve said this on another thread but I wonder if Birdie is autistic? Busy has said that they have sensory issues and that they fixate on things. It’s absolutely their business and no one else’s but it makes you wonder why she wouldn’t be honest about that yet she’s told the world her daughter is gay. It is documented that kids on the spectrum are more likely to struggle with their gender identity which makes sense with Birdie I think.
Anyone remember Busy’s friendship with Jen Gotch? They were pretty tight when she was in LA then there was a scandal with Jenbeing racist. Busy never mentioned it and she hasn’t mentioned Jen ever again. I just found that all so weird.

I was going to start my own thread on Busy Phillips but found this old one. Just feel there’s a lot to discuss here. I dip in and out of her podcast but honestly it’s a hard listen to sometimes. Busy seems a little bit deranged

Totally get she is divorcing, that’s expensive and most people have less after, but she does not seem to be holding back her spending-talking about doing her own nails to save, while seeming to have the same lifestyle as usual. Though I have often wondered how her and Marc afforded the lifestyle in the first place. They obviously don’t have fuck you money as they had to sell the house in LA rather than just buy another, but still live a luxury lifestyle-it might all be gifted for all I know.

She’s great friends with a jeweller Irene Neuwirth - and she used to wear these opal candy necklaces that cost 5k each, more than one. Even lost one I think. Not sure if they were #gifted undisclosed ads or she just bought them all. Her closet is massive, she depops a lot for charity to clear it. She took daily classes at that Tracey Anderson refugee Lekfit - probably 20 dollars a go - I think she did a lot of advertising for them - I first started following her on Instagram and she looked great on them don’t get me wrong. Marc took daily soul cycle classes - before peloton so again 20 dollars a go. They flew constantly back to New York. Her lifestyle was crazy expensive when she didn’t seem to be working that much. Those mr nightgown dresses - she has maybe 10, they are 200 dollars each.
I enjoyed her book. I thought she was brilliant in cougar town. I watched a couple of her talk show episodes, didn’t get into it, and the singing at the end was weird. I think she bought her own bullshit and it’s all gone a bit awry since panic moving to NYC and marriage broke down, more manic and she’s stopped acting and just does a podcast now?? Don’t follow her any more - just too much.

True - I've always liked that Busy asks her kids permission before posting about them, and presumably the massive drop off in Cricket posts is Cricket's choice rather than hers. It looks a bit strange that she's switched from what felt like Cricket posts every other day to what feels like Birdie posts and anecdotes every other day ever since the nb announcement but presumably it's just a coincidence.
