She has two residences in one of the most expensive states in the country. I’m sure paying upkeep on a house upstate while renting in the city is expensive. She will be making money off her podcast, as well as girls5eva and anything else she does. Her problem is she has too many ‘really rich’ friends, who are often children of rich people, like Colin Hanks, whereas she did make her own money without coming from money. I do give her credit for that.

Is there a Kelly Oxford thread? I used to follow her from her Xanga blogging days. She looks so weird now!! All she does is talk about how she’s poor and posts thirst traps to get people to read her work. It is so so odd. Is this just what LA does to people?!

I don’t think there is but I find her a puzzle. The constant TikTok’s are odd. And the asking people to pay for her Substack in order for her to feed her kids is odd and sad. I think she needs to go and get a ‘normal’ job.

Her and Busy were so close when B lived in LA but you don’t see her mention her much these days. That’s not to say they are not still friends. But on Busy’s podcast recently she shouted out all her female friends and she didn’t mention Kelly.

This is exactly why she should've kept her mouth shut about it. Birdie's business shouldn't be part of her social media image or something for people to argue about in her comment sections as if they know better than her mother.

Exactly. Lots of kids (esp girls) these days claim a non binary or trans identity when they are going through puberty but once they have gone through it it can resolve those feelings and they become more comfortable in their bodies. Looks like that’s happened to Birdie. Which is why Busy shouldn’t have announced it even when Birdie said it was ok. As a mum you make the decision to protect your kid. Birdie will no doubt get backlash from the gender woo nuts now. The comments from grown women on Busy’s page is tame in comparison to the shit that the young ones online will be saying. Nb is cool, being a cis girl is not.

I go through phases of loving and hating Busy. She has gotten up her own bum the last few years, but I do like that she doesn’t hide it when she is having a difficult time. I also love that she looks like a 42 year old women, well looked after but she is not afraid to look rough!
It is pretty obvious that the flat she rents to ‘work’ in was rented due to marriage problems though. Why not go to the local co-working space.
I do wish she had more pals on her podcast calling her out on her bullshit a’la Whitney Cummings podcast and Tim Dillon ripping the piss out of her. I am sure they do in private, I like Cassie but I do really miss Shantira being on the podcast, it was nice having three of them being more equal rather than Busy banging on and Cassie agreeing.

I'd love to know whether they're separated or not cos like you say, her social media presence is that of a single mother. She hasn't seemed "right" to me for a couple of years and I hope she's okay. Hard agree re puberty blockers: I find it very hard to believe she hasn't done her research, which begs the question why is she parroting that they're reversible, no long-term effects etc?
Has anyone seen Girls 5eva? It's on my list but haven't got round to it yet. The last thing I saw her act in was ER - is she still good?

Yeah I think it sounds like Birdie will be going to boarding school there soon. Although I dip in and out of the podcast and Busy recently said Birdie was looking at performing arts high schools in New York and that she was really lucky to have so many good schools nearby. And that she wasn’t accepted to the Swedish school anyway. Not sure what’s changed!

I listened to the start of the most recent podcast episode and was sad to hear Caissie’s mother died suddenly just before Christmas. My heart went out to her. She never cries on the podcast, it’s always Busy crying over pretty much nothing and Caissie comforts her. It must have been hard for her to talk about but she spoke so well. Only listened to half of it but I’ll listen to the rest later and might find out more about Birdie and Sweden.

It’s not even TRAs I don’t think, it’s just super woke ‘allies’ usually women just like Busy who would rather die than get someone’s pronoun wrong on random celeb’s insta. The type that post ‘protect trans kids’ you know the kind I mean.

It would be good if Busy acknowledged the change back to girl on her insta but I can imagine it’s a bit embarrassing and not very cool. On the pod I was listening to she was quick to clarify Birdie is still ‘queer’. Of course she is, she is super special and different and gifted and nothing like other kids her age

Yeah you're right. The ones that are so desperate to show they're progressive and down with the kids that they fail to consider that maybe Busy is more in tune with her kid than they are

Haha glad you started up this thread again because I needed to comment about this to someone…was watching her stories the other day (they mystify me) and she did the telltale teeth lick that major sugar heads tend to do. I mean, it makes a lot of sense given her…quirky…behaviour (and her weight loss over the years!) but still, if you’ve powdered your nose generously perhaps don’t go make a IG story with your kid!

Am not going to listen to the pod anymore, it has become unbearable and the constant talk of how she is poor, is tone deaf, as yes she might be poor by her standards, but not anyone else’s.

It’s a good role for her to be fair, very like the other dumb blondes she has played before. But maybe a little too true to life for anyone self-aware…

Also the idolising of Birdie makes me feel a bit weird about Cricket but I remember when Birdie was about that age, she didn’t want to be on Instagram at all and it was all cricket all the time. Another reason why I stopped putting my kids on even my private Instagram a couple years ago.

Right I’ve not been paying much attention to Busy lately but looked on her stories tonight. My god she’s self indulgent with her rambling posts. And when is someone going to take her aside and deliver the news that no, neither of your daughters look remotely like you Busy. They are both the spit of Marc. Is Birdie really going to boarding school in Sweden because of an obsession with Young Royals? (Teen drama set in Swedish boarding school). Cos I loved Mallory Towers but I didn’t get to go there… I wonder if school in NY is a bit difficult.

I think the young royals is part of it but Busy has said before that Birdie doesn’t feel safe at school in the US, I’m presuming because of the school shootings (understandable and heartbreaking) but also because she’s QwEer and apparently a target because of that, even though all teenagers seem to be queer these days, esp in a nyc school. I bet admits to being straight there, how uncool!
