I do think SS would be paying much closer attention to her if the circumstances were the same (uneducated unemployed single mother with chronic health issues and prenatal mental illness who had planned to kill her newborn, and is now neglecting his emotional and social needs and he is failing to gain weight appropriately) but if she was a lower social class and she had less money, a strong regional accent, living in a run down flat in a less nice area etc. she wouldn’t be getting off so lightly. I think it is far easier to talk the talk when you are doing it in an RP accent in your nice flat your parent’s bought you.I hope O won't get hurt when he's in the age range she refused to care for. I would say she should've stuck to fostering only, but even the children in the age range she ordered, I mean, specified, were passed off to her mother or a nursery or she intensely complained about them. Didn't she have rage issues with them too? I think that's why I stopped watching.
Sunniva, that's an excellent summary that SS would benefit from being aware of. I worry for Os wellbeing and safety. 19 hours alone in a cot everyday, the rest of the time on the floor under a drawer or beside a glass grizzling etc
It's just awful, isn't it.I do think SS would be paying much closer attention to her if the circumstances were the same (uneducated unemployed single mother with chronic health issues and prenatal mental illness who had planned to kill her newborn, and is now neglecting his emotional and social needs and he is failing to gain weight appropriately) but if she was a lower social class and she had less money, a strong regional accent, living in a run down flat in a less nice area etc. she wouldn’t be getting off so lightly. Of course not all autistic women do, but some do. Propensity to mask does vary quite significantly and don’t forget that Bryony was mostly home-schooled and is an only child, so her socialisation has been quite limited relative to the average. That’s bound to have impeded her ability to mask. Many Autistic women don't parent anything like her. Autistic mothers are often very aware and tuned in to their baby's needs. Perhaps her educational and social circumstances meant she didn't pick up the empathy and awareness developed as a survival technique from masking in public, but I'd expect it by secondary age. If she was truly hyperfocused on babies and parenting books, I don't think she'd be ignoring his needs and showing it on camera, particularly as she likes to portray being an expert.
But it's not JUST autism with Bryony, there are actually elements of sociopathy, malingering, fabricated illness/Munchausens, hysteria, attention seeking, and being spoiled to her detriment by her parents. As well as social isolation/lack of exposure to the real world.Always awkward to articulate, particularly in the midst of (entirely justified) judgment and criticism, so I preface this by saying that one of my children who I love desperately is severely autistic, but Bryony is herself very plainly autistic and further, pretty much every single one of the issues picked up on in this thread is explainable in that context alone (though I do think Munchausen’s is a likely factor too).
Yeah I completely agree. I believe without a doubt that she is autistic and that explains a bulk of her eccentricities, but there’s so much more to her behaviour than that. Propensity to lie, manipulate and exploit aren’t really classical autistic traits. But it's not JUST autism with Bryony, there are actually elements of sociopathy, malingering, fabricated illness/Munchausens, hysteria, attention seeking, and being spoiled to her detriment by her parents. Yeah I was genuinely quite shocked at thisIs it just me or does her writing resemble a child’s?
On her Instagram story. She shared her gift label message to Oryn (that made her "tear up") that she wrote. That poor boy has nothing private of his own. She's somehow managed to make it about herself and share the (or what should be) private and personal words from mother to son. She's absolutely vile.Where is her writing?
Could be, I’m dyslexic and my school helped a lot with writing/spelling and gave me special pens etc, from years of using these I now write extremely neat without them, all because of the help. but then she probably wouldn’t of had this as she left schoolYeah I was genuinely quite shocked at thisI think she has said she’s dyslexic so I can see why that might limit somebody’s handwriting experience … but then again so will leaving school at 14.
