You often come on this thread to support Brummymummy. Perhaps set up a rave thread for her?
To be fair to her, shes not defending brummy, shes defending private therapy. I agree with her, if someones currently struggling and doesnt feel they could wait for an NHS therapist then they should contact a private one if they're able. Not let comments on here about private mh specialists put them off!

Question for you all while I'm bored boob feeding 😂 - did you originally like Brummy? What drew you to her? What changed your mind/brought you to tattle? I'm intrigued! I used to think she was sweet and seemed a lovely involved mum, social media seems to have changed her entire personality since and she come
Because she was suggested to me by youtube not a Louise video but probably a haul style video which then I used to like watching, however now I do not like them due to growing up and becoming more aware of consumerism, tat addiction and the plastic, throw away society we live in. I want to watch something that challenges my mind, ironically her crap content improves my analytical skills. At the time I felt she was someone relatable but she hasn't evolved in a positive way. I think people who do not have the personality that questions behaviour or asks why I'm general wouldn't notice her inability to be sustainable or make thoughtful change to her lifestyle and content. She still makes the content in the same arena and unless her audience reflect on their choices why would they see hers

Don't want to derail or continue a discussion around this but thought it was important to say:

If anyone is currently engaging in private therapy or intending to because it's your only option, then please don't feel ashamed or put off by some of the previous comments in this thread. Therapy is different for everyone and all that matters is that it works for you.

(I'm not a therapist but have accessed both private and NHS services in the past. I do work in MH Support and hate to think that some of these comments could be dangerous for someone who may be thinking of reaching out. In an ideal world we would all be able to access wonderful NHS services for free, but unfortunately waiting lists are very long.)

End of PSA. Sorry!
Weird that you work in mental health but contribute and support a website that according to Brummy caused her to seek therapy. But definitely seek help if you need it.l!

Another one bites the dust. Mr/Mrs Hartley shaking head in dismay & putting a mahoosive cross by BM’s name.
“Cardboard jellies?? Cardboard fuckin’ jellies? Have we still got Pentland’s number? Get me Advertising on the phone! NOW!! What in hell’s name was she thinking? CARDBOARD??...🤬😡🤬

Meanwhile sales of strawberry jelly in plastic pots plummet.....

I’ve followed Emma for about 6 years. Back at the start, she was so relatable. Posted nice blog posts about how hard motherhood was and i genuinely liked her and her content. For me, it all changed as soon as she gave up her proper job to make this her ‘career’. How can I relate now to someone who slobs around all day watching TV in her dressing gown? I think it was such a huge mistake that she will really regret when the kids are a bit older. She never used to talk about Disney either. Can you imagine??

I should unfollow her really but it’s a bit like watching a car crash and I'm intrigued as to where she’ll end up. The main things that wind me up is how she jumps on something and never shuts up about it but none of it feels genuine Like her breakdown and the shower incident... It’s insulting to those of us with real mental health issues.

I saw her at Gi Fletcher’s Happy Mum tour where Candice mentioned she eats a whole ‘period cake’ each month and Emma totally took that and has mentioned it so many times since. It feels desperate, like she’s trying to fit in with the other instamums. She’s just not original and has nothing new to bring to anything anymore.

I found her years ago, my children are a similar age fingers, and we're not too far from Brum. I was looking for ideas of places to visit, then I realised that she doesn't really go anywhere, so I unfollowed.

A couple of months ago she popped up on the recommended page of insta, despite me following no other instamums, so I had a nosy. I was surprised how she had gone from a seemingly well meaning, struggling mum to naked behind an object on a regular basis, and thought I bet there's a tattle thread on her. And so here I am, just discovering how vile she is.

Like many others, I began following Babs years ago when she first started up blogging. I enjoyed her blog posts for the first year until she began repeating herself as she ran out of ideas. I found the fact she was a part-time working mum struggling with toddlers, living in a normal home etc. all relatable to my life. I liked her early videos with little days out and stationery hauls (even though she used to refer to it as stationary 🤦🏼‍♀️).
Like somebody else has just said, it all went wrong when she decided to give up her worthwhile job to be a full-time flogger. She became so up herself and, as a working parent it drives me insane when she refers to what she does now as work! The Disney crap wasn’t a feature in the early days, and it’s something that doesn’t appeal to me.
I first started reading Brummy threads on Tattle after she directed her followers here over a year ago. She is deluded, saying she was trying along with her manager to get it shut down 😂😂😂.
I’ve unsubscribed from her Facebook and YouTube but I still check out insta in order to make me feel better about myself. I never engage with her stupid questions anymore or ‘like’ her #ADs. She doesn’t deserve it. She has probably bought lots of followers because only a small proportion of them like or comment on her posts.
Also, I wish she’d stop using that bloody weird filter on stories, it always makes me think my phone screen is damaged or dirty.

Buying an overpriced mirror because you’ve seen that 20 other Instagram ‘influencers’ have it does not make you like Stevie Nicks.

I didn’t follow Emma back in the days when she was a part time teacher, but I am always surprised when people say they liked her so much back then. I remember clicking on a few of her really early videos one day and thinking she was already trying too hard back then and was really laying on the whole “mum next door” shtick really thick. When I did start watching her I thought she was a little different to the likes of Kate Murnane and Mrs Meldrum who I was growing increasingly tired of, but it really didn’t take me long to see through her as well. For me it started when she was having her garden and kitchen renovated simultaneously all while planning her upcoming Disney trip. Which is fine, I’m not worried about her success or what this “career” affords her, but it was that she never just owned it. She kept carrying on with the narrative that she is just very frugal and a great saver and was doing all of this whilst paying herself a pitiful part time teacher wage. Then I started to notice that she was basically just creating a caricature of what she thought a relatable mum was and was casting her children into certain roles as well. Her brand feels really forced and inauthentic to me... she has to constantly remind us that she is kooky and different and plus size and a bit daft. I really think she has completely lost herself in her desperate quest for social media stardom, it’s sad.

No thanks! Nothing to rave about.

Not sticking up for babs on this, I just know there are some vulnerable people on this thread and I'm a big advocate for talking therapies.

Can understand your suspicion though :)

You do only seem to hang around in here to correct people. You would probably feel more at home in Emma’s comment section.

I'm sorry. It takes me a while to catch up with threads and so I think I only really speak out about the things I care about, but I can see how it looks. I'll just stick to lurking in the future.

In answer to a previous question before I go though: I don't have kids and I'm perhaps a bit younger that most followers as found her through Brit Crew>Louise>Brummy. Thought she was quite different/funny for all of five minutes but quickly began to find her irritating and basically just a budget Hurrah for Gin. Now watch purely so I can enjoy the comments on here!

I've never watched a Brummy You Tube down video but had to have a look at the one with Louise and Katie...oh my goodness! She's very shouty, talks over them, constantly looks at the camera. I don't follow Louise but I do follow Katie and I'm not surprised at all that their friendship has cooled

And of course she is HOWLING as it was just so fun! Her ads are just so awful. Love how she’s quick to say they’ll reuse the pots for gardening before anyone criticises her. She’s been growing plants for what? 5 minutes?

She does realise Disneyland Paris isn’t gonna be the same experience the rest of the year?? Face masks will be required and social distancing etc? I think it was very stupid of her to book it. And also it would be very irresponsible and frankly against the ride guidelines for erin to be going on rides etc having had neck surgery this year???
You can do without one bleeping Disney trip!!!!

I've had to unfollow this morning. She is really something else! "We have to cancel our super expensive Disney world trip but its fine because I've booked Disneyland Paris instead!". We've saved hard for 2 years to take our kids to disneyland Paris. We could never afford Florida. Our Disneyland Paris trip has been cancelled because we need that money to feed our kids and here she is boasting about her trip (which will be no different in terms of the pandemic!) and talking about separate bank accounts because she would spend all the money. We have one bank account where all our money goes. There is no spare money in there, especially at the moment, to waste it on the tat she buys and just book a random Disneyland Paris trip because they're real Disney holiday has been cancelled. We're back to saving for another 2 years minimum, probably more now because all the money is gone and work isn't coming in. I hope she has a tit time and all the rides are broken.

That!!! You've hit the nail on the head with "caricature of a relatable mum". I used to like her because she came across like someone who had had very unexpected success with her blogging, and she used to actually seem grateful for things she was sent/events she was invited to. It was like she couldn't quite believe her luck. As others have said- there was a huge shift when it stopped being a lucrative hobby and became A Career. She has flogged to death all the things that made her relatable and now comes across as grossly entitled but also bored with it all. She will stick it out until the bitter end because it must lurk in her mind that she quit a respectable career as a teacher, to make a twit of herself and overexpose her kids and family on Instagram.
