Going back to last week's, I found that Alan really creepy, taking a pic of Lucy in her tennis gear then that girl who Barry brought home, and Paul Collins with her.

Annabelle makes an appearance in this week’s episodes. That is her last episode before the actress’s death off screen. We will see her in some more episodes in a few months but these aired after she had passed away

I have always remembered not to switch a light on in a gas leak thanks to the parade gas explosion. I was only 9 when I watched it but its stuck with me.

Pat threatening Sandra again, she should have kicked him out.
Poor Sheila, can't do right for doing wrong, and her next storyline is a hard watch, we're heading into a dark time .

I also don’t get the Heather/Nick relationship, he looks like a kids’ TV presenter. Tom had a funny mouth and Jonathan was totally charmless.

The only attractive man, in my opinion, is Billy Corkhill … there’s something about him.

STV Player are going to show the Damon and Debbie spinoff starting on New Years Day

The first hour long episode will be available on Jan 1st and the remaining 2 episodes will be available on Jan 8th.

There will also be 5 extra Brookside episodes available on Christmas Day

So this is unexpected… Brookside and Hollyoaks crossover as part of the latter’s 30th anniversary celebrations https://www.channel4.com/press/news...ecial-soap-crossover-celebrate-hollyoaks-30th

Interesting, however doesn’t the average age of a Hollyoaks viewer skew a bit young, maybe 30yrs old or less, most of whom were too young or would never have seen Brookside. Therefore most people old enough to have watched Brookside probably don’t watch Hollyoaks so it’s hard to say who this is aimed at.

I also don’t watch HO but I believe a couple of the Brookside actors are currently in it playing different characters so that will just mess with the space time continuum

Iv just got to episode 2 now thanks to this thread, my mum used to watch Brookie and I watched back in the later years (I was born 91)
Im comparing Roger to my next door neighbour (always looking out the window watching what neighbours are doing and what everyones up to!)

I am enjoying watching these very much. Wish the picture quality was better though, and I won’t watch it on the TV as they stretch the aspect ratio to widescreen.

Roger and Heather’s bickering is irritating, and the car locking palaver makes you grateful for remote central locking!

I also think Lucy and Gordon’s dad looks old. (Mind you, I’m 60 with a teenager.) Katrin Cartlidge, who played Lucy, went on to star in Mike Leigh films and other stuff, but sadly died in 2002, she was only 41.

The strike etc is a bit draggy but an important issue.

It’s surprisingly sweary and amazing what topics they have touched on already (period pain, infertility, bullying, dodgy business, counterfeit goods.)

Am watching 2/3 a night when each new batch comes along Used to love talking about it the next day at work, especially when it came to the Jordaches.

The car locking thing. That was how all cars were locked back then??
Yes i suppose Brookie was known for all the topics they did approach. But for what, 20 episodes weve already had a lot.
The strike thing along with Bobby’s unemployment I remember being a long long time running.

I've almost caught up with the all now. I've got a soft spot for Barry though, Roger and Paul grate on me though. Love seeing old styles in the clothes and houses and looking at the old cars.

I've enjoyed the last couple of weeks, love watching Sheila and Billy's relationship grow, Billy was always one of my faves!
Annabelle really showed no remorse about her affair! The pettiness has been funny and good on Gordon for getting his own back!

I've just watched first episode of this week's, I'd forgotten how much of an uncomfortable watch it is, poor poor Sheila (great acting by Sue Johnston) But I really want to punch Pat, Matty and that tutor really hard
