I used to have an aunt that lived in Chepstow, so I've been across those bridges a fair few times. The current is strong, it is often very windy and visibility there can be very poor.Yes there have been reports of possible sightings in places like India hasn’t there , but I think sadly he probably whether intentionally, or not, died by the Severn bridge and his body hasn’t been found . So sorry for his family it must be agony not knowing
Even if he did manage to "escape" by feigning suicide there, he was mentally and physically frail by then and wouldn't have got very far without a lot of support and timely medical care. It's a desperately sad story.

I think he is likely gone but there have been stories over the years about people swearing they saw him in India.

I do love Super Furry Animals. I think they've done some great music. What's heartbreaking for me is they've just been completely forgotten. You never hear them on the radio. Their breakup was just "Oh...". And my favourites by them are Cabin Fever, Cityscape Skybaby, No Sympathy and most of the Guerilla album. Mainstream success never came their way. Even cult status just isn't sustainable these days. But yes. I can see how it wouldn't work for others. I think getting trapped in a cycle of double albums might have caused band tensions. Ah democracy in bands!

I had a quick swatch the other day as I'd noticed that it was an interim order and weirdly there's been nothing since. I did just find an interesting Reddit thread, on which someone who 'knows' him has posted and said it was dropped and that she'd 'stolen' his fans (
) and 'used him to get more famous' (LOL). Someone noted that it had been listed for court in May and this person commented that Paul told them that it was dropped.
Were they in a relationship? I don't know a huge amount about SPO's as my knowledge is mainly DA related protective orders (although ideally both SPO's and DA related orders can be used but SPO's are fairly underused) but I wonder if he behaved himself during the 6 months and it wasn't seen as necessary to proceed/she didn't want to or feel able to proceed/didn't meet threshold for full order. If they were in a relationship I'm surprised she wasn't advised to seek a non-molestation order (or a restraining order) as the threshold is lower in most cases.

Fairly sure dodgy behaviour isn't exclusive to the Britpop genre
A while ago the Mansun fb page posted a picture of Chad in regards to his post music career and were taking the piss out of him. The fans went mental and the post got removed fairly quickly. I suspect its Paul and/or Dark Mavis who run the socials.
I never really got into SFA, i liked the first album and saw them a few times at my local student union and they were great.

Geneva were brilliant. Andrew Montgomery had an utterly beautiful voice.I loved Geneva who never really took off
They lost the plot a bit with their UFO-themed second album and I think Andrew got vocal cord nodules.

SFA did have some great songs at the time, I liked Ice Hockey Hair, Something 4 The Weekend, and Northern Lites, but I think they lost the general appeal they had. They were very Welsh and I wonder if that was a factor. I know the lead singer released an album in Welsh which is completely fine but isn't going to have mass appeal.

Mark Morriss was nothing but lovely and although absolutely happy to sleep with fans it was his ex wife I always found aggressive and threatening- to other women mostly. Paul Draper is a sick man, messaging fans personally and then trying to get them to buy handwritten lyrics then becoming aggressive if they turned down this once in a life time opportunity.

I did too! They played the first album live at an Indie all dayer thing in Manchester a few years ago, very odd in the middle of all the other jangly/rocky acts but they sounded great - very true to the recording.I loved Geneva who never really took off
I am NOT a Space fan and by the time they came on we couldn't get a pass out
it was at the Ritz so we hid out in the basement until they went off. I think I read around that time that their singer had said some racist rubbish but can't find anything about it now.ETA - I also met Mark Morriss a few times, he was usually nice enough in a "business professional" sort of way, though grumpy and not engaging a couple of times - I now expect he had a lot of turmoil in his personal life during those episodes.
