I’m very wise to breastfeeding thank you, seeing as I’ve done itWise up
Just because she can’t now doesn’t mean she wasn’t able to and I didn’t think that was contradictory. That was my point mainly. She does normally contradict herself so i do agree to some extent. I wasn’t meaning singling out your post there’s been a few comments last few days and I just get annoyedI couldn’t give a shit how she feeds her kid. I was just responding to the fact that because she is talking about not being able to, people were saying she cant. I was pointing out another one of her lies.... I have no interest in how anyone feeds their kids! Their kid, their choice!
Oh that is miserable. Has your LO dropped any feeds lately that might be the cause?I know this is an old thread but I think I have mastitis. My little one is 2 but still bf . I feel sl ill . I've got a phone consultation at the docs tomorrow
But you are being judgemental. Plus now you are telling me off like a child. You really take the biscuit lolAgreed it's none of my business but this is a platform for open discussion and debate and we all have opinions , yourself included. Nothing wrong with expressing them as long as you don't make assumptions, they are kept respectful and non judgemental - take note.
Breastfeeding is one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, and I’ve had a lot of medical treatment, surgeries, bad health... and here’s the controversial statement... it did not fit in with our lifestyle.
I have mentioned a few times before that my son was born 11lbs at 37 weeks, he had tongue tie, dropped weight very quickly and midwives weren’t happy. We took the decision to bottle feed after 10 days, then I expressed 6 times a day for 10 weeks and then I combifed until he was 9 months. BF just didn’t suit either of us, my son used it for comfort rather than food and expressing milk is a form of torture. I’d rather have bamboo put under my nails than sit with breast pumps on at 2am in the morning, only to express 1oz.
Sarah is no means a failure, she’s given Jace a good start but it’s just not working. Bottle feed and top up with boob, or vice versa. I can’t imagine sarah quitting dairy if Jace has an allergy, can anyone else?
What exactly is your problem here????What a disgusting post
I expect you made her feel uncomfortable also? I was told people were complaining about my baby crying as I was struggling to breadtfeed. The midwife said ‘can I give her a bottle’. I said no and rightly so.
It’s just easier to pop them on the boob sometimes isn’t it.Dads give it a little go, we will try harder on weekend, hard with him working atm as baby tends to be more fractious in evenings when he’s finished work then goes to bed around 9 so only had a few tries
Completely agree about breastfeeding it’s been the hardest thing I’ve done! I remember in the first week at home baby crying cos she was hungry and we couldn’t get the latch right resulting in crying from me- very nearly went to buy bottles/formula there and then
I feel like I went into breastfeeding pretty clueless and wish I’d researched more now, like I had no idea about lactation consultants, looked one up in my area who comes to house for about £250, in the first week I would of gladly paid that (and more!)
I do agree about support for the first few visits I had a few different midwives luckily my first one was amazing as even with the following ones when I mentioned latching etc they didn’t offer much help
The average what is 7? 7 isn’t an average age to breastfeed anywhere, if that’s what you meanThis is a factual statistic. The average is 7 years because of countries where things are done differently either through nutritional necessity or cultural norms. Whereas we in the West are busy thinking feeding our own babies is disgusting because billion £ formula marketing companies told us so. And its not at all off topic because MH is soon to be playing her part in this saga. Can't wait to see how it unfolds....
Lucky for you Im not either.Agreed it's not. And the support information and advice is not as it should be.
I'm not against formula feeding at all, I'm glad it is there as a plan B. I just don't understand when it is used as plan A without a drop of breastmilk.
yes he will do soon no doubt.
Lucky for you I'm not here to name call.
Oh yes, I’ve seen that too with Epsom salts in the water (I dunno what Epsom salts are thoughI've seen a hack where people use a Hakka filled with hot water and attach it the breast, apparently the combination of steam and suction can help clear blocked ducts? I've never had mastitis ,(touch wood) but have read in lots of places that you should continue to feed baby from that side. Hope you feel better soon
You pay for the NCT classes but the after support and help is available for everyone free of charge. There are also free places available for those on low incomes. If you are interested in breastfeeding it is worth investing in NCT classes as they are very supportive. The free Children's Centres were also excellent and had breastfeeding cafes for women to get advice from a professional and support from each other.Don't you have to pay for NCT classes?
What "crap" are you referring to exactly?Do u m
do you not think new parents get up to date advice from their own healthcare professionals? without listening to all this crap on places like here? unless someone specifically asks for advice, maybe its best not to give it? just a thought.. and its Hinches business how she feeds Ronnie surely?
Dads give it a little go, we will try harder on weekend, hard with him working atm as baby tends to be more fractious in evenings when he’s finished work then goes to bed around 9 so only had a few triesHas dad or someone tried? Dad managed to get my little one to drink out of one but I tried and nothing, I tried again a week later and after some patience he took to it. Haven’t tried again though, he’s only 9 weeks.
Breastfeeding is so hard, I’ve really struggled and our latch is still not great. Unfortunately the support isn’t there, for me and my area anyway. I’ve literally had no support which is probably why most people give it up.
And I'm sure you're doing a great job
wonder what the royal baby is drinking right now.... breast or bottle?
Can I ask, what the possible long term adverse effects of not breast feeding are?I think this thread seems to be a place for open debate where opinions are shared wether asked for or not.
I am listening , or reading carefully. Especially to an earlier poster asking out of interest why some have chosen while pregnant not to breastfeed. I still can't comprehend given everything I know about the benefits of breastfeeding, or rather - what babies are born expecting. Sharing these facts in the hope of raising awareness.
I think part of the reason I wanna combi is nerves about going out when everything reopens like meals out with male family it’s for me thinking erm if baby needs feeding what will I doIt’s just easier to pop them on the boob sometimes isn’t it.
I was the same wish I would’ve looked into it more, I knew they’d always be attached but I just thought they’d get on themselves and know what to do
I paid for one to come out, she was great and he had actually had a tongue tie which I wouldn’t of known about. Even when I phoned the HV asking for help they told me to watch YouTube![]()
