Started reading the last mrs Parrish today. I'm 1/3 through and liking it a lot so far!

So I started A Little Life on Friday. I do want to read it, Ive had it on my TBR list for ages but I dont know if its the right time.

Knowing how long it is has put a block on it already then to find out the first chapter (at my quick reader pace) was just over an hour long

I tried to read some before dinner on Fri and then at swimming lessons with my kids yesterday but its not that sort of book is it? Not a pick up, put down affair.

Im going to try get at least the first chapter finished tonight. Just ran a bath.

I'm reluctantly DNF'ing Elizabeth Haynes The Murder of Harriet Monckton. I'm not keen on the writing style and it's not holding my attention at all.

I've started Megan Abbott's The Turnout. It sounds like a marmite book, but I'm enjoying it so far. It's turning a bit dark though ...

i thought it was very sweet - i read it in a day over the first lockdown and it’s a enjoyable easy read with a lot of likeable characters.

I finished Before and After by Andrew Shananan earlier today. It’s about a 600lb man trapped in his 4th floor flat awaiting a leg amputation when a zombie apocalypse takes hold and he has to try and survive. It was funny and gripping at the same time and I loved it. I finished it and immediately downloaded the sequel, Flesh and Blood.

I read it a couple of years ago and I really enjoyed it. It’s one of those books I’ll definitely reread at some point (and I much preferred it to her second book).

I just finished Local Woman Missing by Mary Kubica. I was tempted to DNF early on as there was a lot of jumping in timelines and points of view but I’m glad I stuck with it as the second half was far more gripping.

I’ve just downloaded a sample of The Trawlerman by William Shaw.

It’s the fourth book in the DS Alexandra Cupidi series. The first three were excellent.

Finished 'Small Pleasures' by Clare Chambers. Very good. Saw one plot point coming but was completely taken surprise by the ending. 4/5 would recommend

I seem to be practically at the same stage as you. Thought I'd made good progress at first but it took a lot longer than expected. It's going to be one of those sit down for a few hours in a quiet room reads for me.

Yes! I know she was trying to introduce red herrings but it made it so difficult to follow for the first half. Too many different characters' perspectives and too many timelines.

No.

Sharing links to free book sites is not allowed as would put tattle on dodgy grounds and quite frankly we have enough to deal with influencers smearing here. I'm sure anyone can find them if they want to.

If everyone didn't pay for books then they wouldn't exist.

Agreed. Writers deserve to be compensated for their work.

It also doesn't have to cost you anything personally as there are libraries which most people can access for free.
