I love both. I use my kindle for travelling of course, but also for books that I'm not 100% sure about. I don't want to spend € 15 on a book that I'm not sure I'll care about a lot if that makes sense. I tend to read romance and popular (mentioned on tiktok) books on my kindle and I buy real books from authors I know I love or philosophy for example (because I annotate the tit out of those books and it's not the same on a kindle). Kindle defo worth it for me. Buying a new book that arrives instantly whenever i feel like it, as well as how easily they slip into a handbag fpr jpuneys, travelling abroad etc!

Cheaper than buying physical books too

This time last year I was a kindle sceptic. I decided to go for it after positive reviews here and never looked back! I was worried I wouldn't enjoy it as much as a paperback but it has been great for me. I think I read even more last year thanks to it. I like that books are cheaper and I read a mixture of paperbacks and kindle now.

I liked it but it was a 4 star read for me. Im quite shocked that it won the thriller category on Good Reads. I think I got it for 99p so maybe wait a bit?

I posted quite a few in depth comments about my thoughts on the kindle recently. I dont think youd need to go back many pages it was after Christmas.

I have one with a backlight so it enables me to read more than I would with just physical books. For me anything that allows me to read more is a win win. Also if you have prime you get 1 free book a month.

I think it depends if you have space for a tit ton of books

I love both my kindle and real books. I love my kindle for travelling and holidays and if I'm scrolling and see something I like I can easily get it downloaded but there are some books I physically would like to buy. If that makes any sense

I've finished both Black Rabbit Hall and Vanishing of Audrey Wilde. Preferred Vanishing of Audrey Wilde I felt it flowed better and I liked the Characters more. Also, Black Rabbit Hall the stepmom was a tw*t

One of the best things about a kindle is you can get a free sample of a book so if you aren’t sure you can test it before you buy. I’ve saved myself from wasting money on so much crap this way.

I’m reading Great Circle by Maggie Shipstead at the moment and my god it’s brilliant!

It tells the story of a pioneering female aviator in the 40s and 50s and the troubled young actress who is playing her in a biopic sixty years later. Was nominated for the Booker and rightly so!

I bought my missus an amazon fire kindle about 3 years ago, she said "what do I want that for"
She uses it every day.

Yes this genre was right up my street in my 20’s, but in ny 30’s its not as exciting but i am still enjoying it.

When I was given my first e-reader 6 or 7 years ago I was not very happy about it

and I still prefer holding a book over everything else, but same as audiobooks, it just makes life easier. I have the kindle app on my phone too.

I haven’t read a physical book in about 6 months and I was so anti-ebooks for years. However I just use the kindle app on my phone, it saves going between two devices.

For me, nothing beats the smell of a new book - I just adore that new-ness

However I haven’t read a single paperback for the last few years.
I love how cheap and instant the Kindle downloads are.
I don’t have the space and I never re-read books so there’s always the hassle of what to do with them once you’re done with them.
I only read in bed at night so I like that the Kindle is so light and turning the pages doesn’t wake my husband up …who could sleep through an earthquake but honestly the slowest, quietest turn of a book page wakes him up

If it’s between the kindle and buying physical books, then the kindle wins for me. Much easier to read.

Having said that, I’ve just saved myself about £14.50 on kindle books and managed to cross four books off my wish list by visiting the library.

It’s also helped me decide on a non numerical goal for this year, which is to not allow myself to borrow any books from there UNLESS I also come away with something from my TBR list
