I think I buy so many 99p kindle books that it no longer gets flagged as suspicious activity.

'Ah yes, she always makes twenty 99p transactions on the first of the month'.

Someone in a recent thread recommended a series of detective novels and I cannot for the life of me remember what the author's name is..they were a series with a police offer at the centre, English based. Can anyone help??

Male or female officer?

haha that's narrowed it down!

(but yeah probably, Logan or Kett or Grimm)

It was a male detective and I think there may be two ls in either his name or the author's name. People were raving about it. Its not LJ Ross, I may go backwards in the threads. I was sure I had saved it as am on the lookout for another good police procedural.

You are right, DCI Jack Logan. Thank you!!

Hit my reading goal for the year this morning. Now starting Flashlight by Susan Choi as I’m still trying to work my way through the Women’s Prize nominees. I’ve read Heart the Lover, The Correspondent & Kingfisher so far

I’ve been so behind on this thread because my May and June were just full of duds and I’d lost my passion for reading a little bit 😭

I’m treating myself to a couple of 99p deals to cheer me up… what do people think of the Satsuma Complex by Bob Mortimer? I vaguely remember seeing hype for it but can’t remember!

Interested to know everyone’s “last, now, next” in the style of TikTokers
I’ll start:
Last - Just for the Summer - Abby Jimenez
Now - Flashlight - Susan Choi
Next - probably Say Nothing - Patrick Radden-Keefe

I listened to it and it was fun and quite silly, passed the time on my little walks quite nicely!

i loved it! i was sad when it was over (it would make a really lovely tv series someone needs to pick it up) 🥰🥰
I was unsure about it at first, because it's Mills & Boon and I was a bit unsure if it was going to be good. But I fell in love with it so much, such lovely characters
