Did you guys know there is a Georgette Heyer podcast? Seems an older one but popped up on Spotify this morning
I’m not loving it either but it’s not exactly taking me long so it’s just fine. The writing is pretty shaky, I was wondering about if it was translated too.

Just finished Rules of Civility. Bought it ages ago and never got around to it. I struggle to read books at the moment due to my M.E so use audiobooks and I’m trying to do through the books I haven’t read in my bookshelf.
The book was quite good! Not perfect, some bits I felt could have been better but I enjoyed it. And the narrator was really engaging.
My next book was going to be Valley of the Dolls but the narrator is Laverne Cox and I’m not gelling with her voice. Not sure if I should pick something else, stick with it or try something not in my bookcase.

I have looked Sophie Jomain up. She is French, her Insta is all in French, every other book is in French first. Reading the publishers advertising about I Heart suggests it was written in French first. It has been very popular in France. So

It pisses me off that big publishers (in English it's Simon and Schuster) are buying such low quality books just because they're popular but they let their midlist authors die out without any help.
Also how clever it is to do the one by one closed chapters. And by clever I mean diabolically capitalistic. I can usually return books if I don't like them after a chapter or two but with this it's impossible.
I might cheat and open them all so I can be done with this hell and give it the 0 stars it deserves (fine, 1 star but only because Goodreads won't give us what we (I) want: 0 star ratings).
I’m still going to plod on with one chapter a day with my coffee as it’s 5-10 minutes and I can’t be bothered trying to find an alternative advent book but it is terrible.
I’m really glad I didn’t pay for the paperback. I got a refund from TikTok for the tit they sent me and got this on kindle for 99p. The TikTok tit might have ended up better written

I DNFed the Pumpkin Spice Cafe so staying away from Laurie Gilmore. I suspect she uses AI cause she just churns out books like she has keyboard diarrhea and that usually means I won't consider them good quality and the author will be using AI in some capacity and I really can't abide that.
But the covers are definitely cute.
I’ve been reading Xmas Break and I’m enjoying it so far. I’m not expecting it to be the best book ever but I’m definitely keen to see where it goes.
I'm enjoying The Twelve Deaths of Christmas so far. It is book 20/24 about the DCI so i'm missing backstory but it's not taking anything away from it.
I'm not reading any xmas stuff and happy with that, just as well i didn't ho for that advent book, sorry all but sounds rubbish, think that would put me in a full on reading slump

I have previously gone gah gah on here about the ones I liked so I won't go on about them.
I still haven't finished the Marian Keyes book. It's my first one of hers and as I'm a fast reader I can't understand why it's taking so long to read it. I'm confused...
Is this a thing with her books?
I've put the Invisible ADHD to one side to concentrate on after Christmas as there are various changes in behaviour etc you have to do amongst other things. Seems that it affects 50 to 70/5? % of women and I certainly have the tendencies mentioned. Hopefully I'll be able to dejunk my house with the help of it.
I have been given a tip by someone to ask yourself if you'd replace each item and buy it again if you lost it in a fire.
