Good start to A Heart for Christmas. I enjoyed the suspense of our thriller last year, but it’s nice to have a different genre this time.

I found Heart for Christmas a nice change up to the day. Looking forward to the rest of it!

struggling to finish the audiobook because it seems like Lyra and Malcolm are going to get together now. It's a) gross because he's older, knew her as a baby, and has taught her, and b) tedious. It doesn't need a love story.

I'm hoping I'm wrong and it goes in a different direction

I read a heart for Christmas too and enjoyed it.

Even more pleased to find out it’s set in Morzine given I lived and worked in that area at a similar age!!

I read December 1st of A Heart for Christmas last night. I enjoyed it, I think it will be like a Hallmark Christmas movie book..

I bought the Phillipa Gregory on the daily deal cos the wait list on that at the library is crazy but otherwise I've not got anything because so much of it is Xmassy and I don't really do Christmas reads
What was the Phillipa Gregory?

I’ve just read the second chapter of a heart for Christmas. I love a cosy, cringe, hallmarky type book at Christmas!
I enjoyed the Per Jacobson read along last year, I did give in around day 15 ish and read ahead. But I’m glad I did for that one as found it a bit of a let down if I remember rightly.

The new one - the Boleyn Traitor - I wasn’t going to bother as the last one of hers I had to stop as it was so historically inaccurate but heard an interview with her and it sounds really good

You ask know how much I love a detective series/thriller/police book, but you have drawn me into A Heart for Christmas. I have just read chapter two. We will see how long I last!

Sort of book related, the trailer for the adaptation of Emily Henrh's People We Meet on Vacation dropped today and I am so underwhelmed.

And the cheesy music on the trailer! Bleurgh. It looks so cheap, sorry to say. Like PWMOV is my third favorite EH so I wanted to love it. But everything in me is just going NOPE.

Just watched the trailer, can’t figure on what I don’t like about it, feels a bit Hallmark movie/no subtlety?!

Yep. Very hokey and fake cheery. I know it's just a trailer but usually they try to provide a feel of the vibes, right? And if these are the vibes...

Random musing…am reading a Miss Marple after reading a Lady Hardcastle mystery and amateur sleuth solves crimes is such a big genre in the book world but it rarely happens in real life does it? There is no real life Marple or Sherlock Holmes is there

As I say just a random thought

Nope the police won't even come out to a burglary these days. We could do with more Marples and Poirots on the case!

I have never read Lady Hardcastle before, I shall add to my TBR.

We could!

I think most of them are on kindle unlimited - they are a light read but very enjoyable

Guys the Christmas advent book "A Heart for Christmas" is terrible, right? I'm not just being a Scrooge?
