Ive had such a busy November including a house over that ive not had a good reading month at all and pretty dire on the enjoyment of the book front. I gave 1 star to 3 books this month, absolutely hated them. They were The Lie, The Tasting Menu and Paper Cage. Runaway stand out book was God of the Woods and also enjoyed Death in the Arctic and Close Your Eyes. Hoping for a better month next month.

Anyone taken advantage of the Audible 99p for three months + £10 offer? It finally worked for me last night and just wondering what you all bought for the £10 on Audible?

My 2 November reads. Only 2 as A Little really took me ages to get through. I did enjoy it, and thought about the characters a lot but between the content and how busy I’ve been it took me ages. The Burning Girls was my November book club pick and I whizzed through it. I’m currently about 50% through Lessons in Chemistry and should be done with that in the next day or two. I’m enjoying it but can’t quite put my finger on what I think.

Looking forward to starting A Heart for Christmas tonight as the advent read and then I’ll probably read my book club December pick next - The Christmas Book Club by Sarah Morgan. Hope to get at least 4 books this month.

i’m at the point of my yearly reading where i’m always too worried to start a new book in case it’s amazing but then it gets lost in the mess of december and i can’t give it the recognition it deserves. HELP 🤣

I'm part way through listening to Chris McCausland's book Keep Laughing and am really enjoying it

(He's a blind comedian who appeared on Strictly come dancing)

I’m in the mood to get stuck into something consuming but am going to focus on finishing a couple of books I’ve paused on StoryGraph (because I got distracted by something else/didn’t want to carry a hardback on a trip etc), read a Christmas romance and then see if I’m at the ‘get stuck in’ stage of December.

I bought 5! Because of general busyness and crap books read over the last month ive opted for the sort of stuff I dont usually have on my Kindle, so its light hearted and Christmas type books which will hopefully help to improve my reading mood, which is currently disheartened!

I've gone into shock I tell you!
My library has got a Georgette Heyer. Hold the front page!
They also seem to have got a massive drop of Louise Penny's whoever she is.
I'll have to see if the Heyer is brand new or old when it comes. Maybe people are donating inherited books or it's house clearances. Might have to grill the librarian next time I'm in. 🤔
They've also got a book called Snowed In At The Cat Cafe. I read that the cafe was called Catpurrcino and I was sold. I also note it's for sale in The Works for £3 if I like it.😏 I can feel my bookcases smouldering resentfully behind me now I've said that. 🤭😜

I bought the Phillipa Gregory on the daily deal cos the wait list on that at the library is crazy but otherwise I've not got anything because so much of it is Xmassy and I don't really do Christmas reads

Ohh the kindle edition of Wolf Hall is a Black Friday Deal. I just bought it on Audible otherwise would definitely be getting it (I have the physical book too, but that's a bit hefty 😆 )

I started and I enjoyed chapter 1. I think this will be a good way to ease myself back into reading. 1 chapter a day is manageable.

I’ve read a chapter of both Xmas Break and Heart for Christmas - enjoyed both.

I also started King of Christmas which is a choose your own adventure Christmas book. I’m enjoyed that too! It’s making me reminisce about old Goosebumps books!

How was the Richard Osman? I’m on holiday next week so planning to buy a couple of books off my wish list to keep me entertained and this is one of the potential options. I do like the TMC books so wondering how different this one is?
It took a bit to get into but I kind of enjoyed it in that cosy crime you don’t have to think about way.
